We had a symphony to catch and they were great to speed the meal. The food and drinks were fabulous!
Great food! Highly recommend for downtown meetings or personal dining as well. Always get a reservation when you can. They are generally busy and popular
Waiter was great. Food was delicious.
Ty is an amazing server. Very friendly and conscientious to our special dietary needs.
The restaurant was really busy, we arrived on time but had to wait 15min to be sat which is no big deal. But I think they were also very understaffed. The server didn't acknowledge us for about 10 minutes, and then it was just to grab the white card off the table as he flew by and said he'd come back. Another 5 minutes he was back. We were ready to order everything from drinks to entrees by then, so we did. The drinks took a really long time, too. They were good. The food also took longer than expected, at this point making us 30 min late for our event. The food is SO GOOD though! I would just leave a lot of time if you come here, or to any of the Fox restaurants, because we have experienced slow service here as well as at Culinary Dropout in Tempe and in Scottsdale. They seem to know a lot about food, but not a lot about service or staffing.
It started off ok, not a great place to take a customer for a business meal. My customer thought the service was poor and the name should have been the Arrogant waiter. My customer asked a couple of questions about the Oysters and the waiter although trying to be funny made fun of my customer (I am sure unknowingly, but since he did not know where they were from or their occupation, may have refrained from comment as it came across as an insult). Our meals were ok, the oysters were good, drinks were good, we ordered an appetizer (meat/cheese platter) and it did not come seems like an honest mistake/misunderstanding. We received our meals, One of the Filets was over cooked, the other filets were ok not great flavor, the desert was dry and was like eating pure sugar (hot chocolate cake), not much chocolate flavor (2 orders). Despite, it was just an ok experience.
My go to place for special occasions down town! I love it!!
Having the reservation was fantastic. Food was delicious
The food was five star but the ambiance only earns three stars. The open booth seating was very casual and loud. It would be nice if they raised the sides of the booths to block out some of the noise. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. Overall great meal but if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner this is not the place.
Arrogant Butcher has a cool vibe, is a fun place, with really good service and food. Our fav spot for downtown Phoenix. Jambalaya was incredible!!
Food was good but not great, yet expensive. Waiter never came back until end of meal ( we needed horse radish for prime rib, we asked another waiter & never received any!)
Loved the location, outside dining & FREE validated parking! We described our “special occasion” in writing with our reservation & received ZERO acknowledgement. Another restaurant the next night went out of their way to not only acknowledge our special occasion, but made us feel so welcomed & part of their family.
Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant for good eats in Phoenix area. Special occasion, good vibe and special service. 5 stars.
Great service! Every one we talked to wished my wife and I a "Happy Anniversary!" Waitress was knowledgable on the menu and offered recommendations.
Was visiting and staying in downtown Phoenix, I booked my reservation a month in advance due to the rave reviews it has received , it didn't disappoint ! Our server was excellent and attentive, the specialty cocktails were very good. I ordered the double cut pork chops which were cooked to perfection as also were the Yukon potatoes and green beans. The dessert was molten chocolate cake which hit the spot. Should the chance ever comets visit phoenix again, The arrogant butcher will be a definite stop!
We have been here a few times and have liked it each time until now. This last visit was the worst dining experience ever. We had a server named Michael and he was beyond terrible. He didn't come back to check on us and we had been waiting over an hour for food while the table next to us that was sat 30 minutes later received food pretty quickly. We ordered dessert after waiting for a while for our meals because we were hoping to quicken the process (and because at this point we were short on time) but asked that he put it in when our food arrived-- our desserts came out before we even received our meals. Finally our steaks came and were rare when we ordered them medium plus. We sent them back hoping they would come back out quickly after being thrown back on the grill a few minutes. We were wrong. After waiting another 15 minutes with no food in sight, we told the manager we had to leave to attend my husband's ASU graduation. AGAIN, our server NEVER came over and even acknowledged any of this the entire time. Even as we were leaving he didn't look our way. RUDE and HORRIBLE service. Tanya, the manager however was great and because of her we will be back, but will request never to have the same server again.
Great location in Downtown Phoenix with eclectic menu choices! Always a good meal served with a friendly smile.
This was recommended by our concierge and I'm so glad we tried it. It's in a great downtown location and has a Big City diner vibe, more Chicago than Phoenix. The server was knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. He recommended the Divers Scallops, which I had - the dish was unique and delicious. My friend had the spinach dip as an entree and said it was the best she'd ever eaten. It was a little pricey - my entree was $27 - but worth it. I definitely would recommend it.
I was very disappointed. I made a reservation for a 30th birthday dinner for my fiance and the special instructions were not attended to (dessert) . We were also seated in the middle of the "family" dining when I had requested a more romantic seat near the bar area. The food was subpar and presentation was awful. The only highlight was our server. He was very polite and prompt.
Nice place, good downtown location. Service was good. Beet salad was excellent
Was a bit noisy but great service. Food was good but cheese plate was not what i expected.
The servers are fantastic. The ambiance is wonderful as is the food.
First time visiting this restaurant and I was NOT disappointed! The Butcher’s Platter charcuterie board was awesome and the double cut pork chop - to die for! Kitchen ran slow BUT management was on top of it! Came over to apologize and let us know dessert was on them. I have already recommended this place and will definitely be back!
It was a wonderful experience. Server was very personable!
Food could have been warmer. My friends French dip the bread was soggy.
Great place! We lived the menu and sampled many of the options. The charcuterie board was amazing! Great drinks and wonderful service. Will visit again when in Phoenix.
Great food and experience as usual. Recommend for a dinner before any event downtown.
Great place for before a game or concert
The waiter was exceptional. Ambiance was friendly and felt very comfortable and welcome.
We had the most incredible dinner. The waitress suggested the cheese board and everything was delicious and very different. Our waitress was so amazing and full of energy, she recommended the jambalaya that was delicious, and the chicken stuffed With crap was fabulous. We ended with their signature desert salted caramel pudding… To die for!
Very difficult interaction with hostess who then proceeded to not check us in using our Open Table reservation.
Reservation was perfect. The food was good and service was excellent. We went after a concert and it was a great place to sit, relax, enjoy a meal and wait out the traffic.
Arrogant is the correct name for this restaurant. I made a reservation because there was a Diamondback game that afternoon. When we arrived, the hostess seemed bothered. She sat us at a table by the hostess desk which was very noisy and uncomfortable. I asked if we could move to a quiet booth. The booth area was empty (stayed empty the entire time we were there), but she sat us a table in the corner with no room. Even the people we sat by mentioned how crowd it felt. The server, Steven was top notched. It wasn't his fault that the food was over salty. We have eaten here several times and it was great food. The chef was "salt' happy this meal. With all the new restaurants popping up in downtown Phoenix, we will move our business from Arrogant Butcher.
While pricey, it is worth every penny and more.
First time to this restaurant, my wife's choice for her birthday. Great service, food and drinks. We will definitely be back!
The food was wonderful and very reasonably priced. My Wife loved her salmon. My sandwich was huge.
We came to celebrate our 16th anniversary before we went to the diamondbacks game. We originally had a reservation for 3:30 but came at 2:45 to check if we could be seated early. The hostess was very friendly and welcomed us in. Our waiter was amazing, and super friendly. Food was delicious and drinks were fantastic. They even made a custom drink for me to fit a craving. Absolutely recommend this restaurant. We will be coming back for sure!
Great food and service. Staff went out of their way to ensure my dining experience was the best possible. The pretzel fondue was excellent.
Arrogant: having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. Unfortunately, this was true - I just did not anticipate, or appreciate, the joke. It is a shame to find that a restaurant with such good reviews could be such a let-down overall.
The Arrogant Butcher was an OK place to dine with work colleagues. The menu had changed from the online one I had perused; downgraded if you will. Cocktails were good. Our server was nice but spoke in a singspeak that was hard for my old ears to understand. We had the crispy shrimp, charcuterie board, and prime rib. Nothing to complain about but nothing to dance about either.
