The experience was really awesome. Glad we had a reservation because they were busy. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff super nice. We had a great evening here!
Great pre Suns game dinner - prime rib, pork schnitzels, burgers - all were very good. Our server was dialed in and did a wonderful job! The six of us were quite happy and very satisfied when we walked out of the door!
The food was amazing and the waiter was exceptional good. The sticky toffee pudding was phenomenal!! Will definitely go back!
Fun place, good food, good service.
Will return and try the seafood and other cocktails.
Meals are over priced in comparison to portions served. Atmosphere was very loud.
Perfect location for pre Suns game quick bite. Staff was great. Food was great. Meatball was the Bomb!
What a horrendous experience! Made a reservation before a major concert at Talking Stick Arena which was a mistake. For this evening, much to our disappointment, the menu was "limited" due to volume and it was obvious the restaurant was short staffed. We were not allowed any substitutions (e.g. French fries for mashed potatoes) AND we waited almost one hour for our food. There were 4 in our party (requesting two separate checks) and each of us had a bad or worse food experience. Requested unflavored iced tea and peach flavored tea was served. The meatloaf was "raw" and had to be returned. The salmon which was an add on to a salad, was not cooked as requested and the tomatoes in all three salads were mushy and "old". We had to track down any waiter to get our waiter to return so he could see this debacle. Our waiter did get his manager to come over and she offered to replace the items but we could not wait another hour for food! She agreed to remove the meatloaf and the salmon from the bills but the waiter got the comp'd items WRONG on each of our bills. What a mess....needless to say, we won't be returning to the restaurant any time soon. The entire meal should have been comp'd. Poor dining experience at what we once considered a decent restaurant.
A friend recommended this restaurant before and I’m glad that I had the opportunity to visit it. Great food and service. A gem in Phoenix Downtown.
Service was good. No issues getting a table and reservation on Saturday night.
Good experience overall! We enjoyed sitting by the chefs counter. Unique, and relatively casual atmosphere. Our server was good, however she interrupted at times, and was a little too close when she would come up. Just more awareness of personal space. The chefs bird was awesome! We had a good time overall, and we will be back!
Eaten there many times.
Good food, great service, good menu. CONSISTENT. Get what I expected every time.
To start with, Very loud place. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and was disappointed as they tasted like they were a day old.
My wife ordered a small salad and a sweet potato and I ordered the crab stuffed chicken with Brussels sprouts.
It took almost 45 min to get our food, the waitress and manger came by to apologize and offered to comp one of my mixwd drinks, the pretzel appetizer and have a free dessert. For that, hats off to them as that’s great customer service. Once the food arrived I was disappointed as the Brussels sprouts were mostly burnt and the crab in the chicken breast seems like out of a can and the chicken itself but much flavor. Unfortunately I won’t be going back there
This place was fine for a late dinner downtown. A cut above typical bar food.
I have dined here in the past and had a wonderful experience however my recent trip to Arrogant Butcher was awful. I had made reservations but due to a large crowd in attendance for the Phoenix Suns game I was told we would have to wait 20-30 minutes for we could sit outside. We had tickets for a play and didn't want to wait so we were seated on the patio which we were assured was warm with heaters. The first table they offered the heater was not working properly and was turned off. The next table we were offered had a heater so we say down, unfortunately due tot he event across the street there was a great deal of traffic including city busses going by so whenever a breeze would kick up all we could smell was diesel. Our waiter offered us a complimentary drink due to the schedule mix up which was kind (but more about that later). He came back about 5-10 minutes later saying a table had opened up and would we like to move inside so we did. The next server who worked with us was curt and made us feel like we were a bother to be there. I had ordered the crab legs but did not realize they were served cold over ice, which seemed very odd - especially since they were served with warm drawn butter. Some of my crab was actually frozen. If I had known it was cold I would not have ordered it. When our bill came we were charged for the 'complimentary' drinks. Overall we were very disappointed in our dining experience and likely will not return.
Poor customer service. We were a little early for our reservation and told that we would have to wait as they were "totally full". Meanwhile, there were a lot of open tables. They then proceeded to forget about us until we went up to the hostess stand and were then promptly seated at a table that had been empty for the past 20 minutes. It then took a full 45 minutes to get our food which we had to inhale so as not to be late to see our lecture at CoAmerica Theater.
Loved this place! Very friendly staff. Food was amazing.
My brother has an electric wheelchair. The staff is really good about getting us in and making us comfortable. We like the burgers. It’s a fun place. We like to watch ball games while we eat.
The service we received from Gabrielle was outstanding. Alex, the manager, was also very accommodating.
The Arrogant Butcher's food is a little on the pricey side, but it's high quality and wonderfully prepared. They could use a little help at their check in area - far too many people waiting for tables when there is an abundance of empty tables. We arrived early and were told they would not seat us until our scheduled reservation, although there were at least a dozen empty tables that stayed that way in the 20 minutes we waited. Not the best customer service up front, but our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. No kids menu, but the Butcher's Charcuterie Plate was a great share for me and my two girls!
My husband and I split a salad and sandwich. Delish! Big servings. Great server. She made recommendations when we asked and didn’t hover. Made us feel as if we had all the time in the world. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent food and great service.
Outstanding food and very friendly service
Great bar service. Bartenders were friendly, fun and knowledgeable
Large restaurant in the center of downtown by the sports arenas. Very busy and feels a bit like a chain. Only had oysters and the charcuterie board which were great, but overall was looking for something more personable. Would come here for before or after games or large groups but if you want something intimate, this is definitely not the place.
We chose Arrogant Butcher for an early dinner before a lecture at the Orpheum. We sat outside which is alongside the sidewalk & street w no planting or other barrier to enhance the ambiance or protect against loud traffic noise. The table was like a round picnic table w attached round wooden seats—uncomfortable for us “older” adults. Service was good and friendly. Food was average. Two of us had the sweet potato enchiladas which were smothered in the wrong sauce (thick red bitter enchilada sauce vs a light cream sauce) for this dish. Overall pretty unremarkable restaurant. Perhaps we would have enjoyed our time more if we had been inside.
Great food, awesome service but needs to figure out their AC, been there a dozen plus times but the last 3 times it is so hot inside thats its not comfortable.
Amazing dining experience. The experience made my spouse's birthday dinner memorable. The staff was great, the prices were fair, and the cocktails were superb. I'm glad to have spent my money here. Money well spent! Will definitely be dining here again.
The food was wonderful and the chefs meat and cheese platters awesome. Wonderful server and fast.
The overall experience was good. The waitress was extremely nice but unfortunately, there was a hair in the appetizer. The cost of app was removed from bill.
The food was very good. I was a bit disappointed they had changed the menu because I was looking forward to one of the older items. My second time there. We enjoyed it both times.
This was my first visit to The Arrogant Butcher. My friend and I selected it for the close proximity to Comerica Theater. Ian was our server, and he was FANTASTIC! He coupled knowledge of the menu and attentive service with an outgoing friendly personality. Without question he is one of the all-time best servers I have ever had! Between the delicious food and his amazing service, we are planning to make The Arrogant Butcher our ‘go to’ spot for the subscription series we have at Comerica.
Awesome Awesome food and service - I had scallops which were top notch with brussel sprouts & sweet potatos - absolutely melt in your mouth amazing! My friend had the beef short rib stew with brussel sprouts - again amazing!!! Had the DeLille Cellars red wine which was very good!!
Wish I remembered the waiter's name - very tall gent with longer hair pulled back - he was so good - so attentive and so knowledgable of the food and he chose our wine which we both really liked!!!
Can't say enough good things about this restauarant and their service - only wished I lived in Phoenix so I could go again real soon!!
New menu, but amazing food
Meatloaf wasn’t the best.
Took a group of clients here while we were in town for the Healthcare Design Conference. It was perfect and we had a great time!
This is the kind of place with a creative hip visual vibe, superb downtown location w/ outdoor dining, Sam Fox creation and a nice energetic buzz. Great place for a beer at the bar.
If you’re looking for anything more than upscale restaurant chain food, however, look elsewhere. Lots of calories, lots of sodium, uninspired food with no soul.
Alec the manager comped us our nachos and two of our three beers after our filet mignon came out cooked the wrong way twice (overcooked the first time, and raw the second time). This was my second visit here, and I remember my first visit about a year ago, the same thing happened with my steak. I was disappointed because instead of talking to my husband about "us" on our date, I kept talking about my disappointment with the steak; in that way, it ruined our intention.
I'm just wondering why the steak wasn't comped, but he was nice about it, and took care of our concern by extending a gesture.
the location was very convenient to the downtown theater venues and the light rail
The noise level was very high when we first walked in but we were seated in a separate room and the noise level was fine. Their chopped salad was very good even thought not very chopped. We shared the prime rib and it was plenty of food. Their mascarpone cheesecake was delightful.
Only thing I would recommend is if you have a bunch of open seating seat people at more comfortable tables.
