The Arrogant Butcher Ratings and Reviews
We went to The Arrogant Butcher before a show at the Comerica Theatre. I had emailed a special request a few days before. Tanya replied to tell me that Chef would be happy to prepare the dish I had requested, even though it was not on the Weekend menu.
When we arrived, Tanya came to our table, greeted us and assured me that my request was not forgotten. Our server followed up. He was very personable and attentive.
The food was amazing and the dish that I requested was beyond my expectations. My friend had an equally delightful experience with her dish
I would definitely recommend the Arrogant Butcher and my friend would too. A wonderful experience all round. Thanks so much!
Came for a late dinner after a long day at a conference. Service was great, waitress very friendly. Food was great. Scallops with roasted Brussels sprouts were great, good drinks too. They were able to accommodate a colleague who has strict dietary needs as well. Only thing is they close at 9 pm.
The food was so good and really unique items on the menu. We loved the meats&cheeses and wine. The shrimp appetizer was really good too. For dinner my mom had steak and I had fish and both were exceptional. My wine went perfectly with the appetizers as well. The restaurant is fun with an energetic atmosphere. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Our service was awesome, quick and very attentive. We were going to a concert so she made sure we were in and out on time. The restaurant is my favorite in downtown Phoenix. We will definitely go back. Thank you for a great night!
This is a bar setting. I wasn’t looking for that, but I thought I would give it a try. My purpose was to set up a group dinner for 30 people. I wanted to try it first before I made this decision. Glad I did. Your place came recommended but the food wasn’t good. I’m not a picky eater but I had to return the crab stuffed chicken. It didn’t taste like chicken. I’m 55 years old I know know chicken when I taste it. The waitress was nice and took the meal back and brought out another dish from my selecti9n. It was the chicken tenders, but the chicken was pink and not cooked thoroughly. I didn’t eat it either. Sorry, but I not be coming back.
I normally am a fan of all FOX Concept restaurants and I was very excited to try this one. We had a terrible meal at Arrogant Butcher on Sat night. The food was really off and the service was questionable. We ordered the Butcher's cheese and meat plate - it came to us missing the cheese and the Marcona almonds were really pistachios that tasted like they were from a can. The salad lettuce was wilted didn't seem fresh. We ordered the peanut butter cup for dessert and had to send it back - this was the only time I couldn't eat chocolate and peanut butter dessert. It was a really disgusting peanut-like thick soup with chocolate ice cream in it. I was really disappointed and spent over $200 on a mediocre meal. No thanks, I won't be back.
Great food, good location but the service was disappointing. The server knew it was our first time and did very little to make the experience outstanding. We had to continually remind her to bring the items we ordered. We were willing to try many different items, but she failed to help us spend our money. However, the food will bring me back again!
We chose this restaurant because we were attending an event at Comerica Theatre. The waiter barely checked in with us, we asked for water and it took forever to get and it tasted weird the, the delivery of the food took forever, we were cramped where we sat, I could go on. So disappointed. When we finally got our food we were rushed to eat. My husband ordered the special, prime rib, and it was not cooked well. The manager came out to apologize for the delay and offered to get us a cab so we wouldn't be late for our event. We waited and it never came so we walked...not a great experience for the price.
The food and service staff were incredible! The meal options were creative and delicious. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. My only complaint is that we were rushed through our meal. I expected that paying $100 for a pre-symphony dinner would last more than 25 minutes, but that's how long it took - from ordering through appetizers and finishing main course. We had 5pm reservations, expecting to leisurely walk to the symphony between 6 and 6:30. We were in and out of the restaurant in less than half an hour, and sat around outside for over an hour until Symphony Hall opened. I highly recommend the restaurant, just don't expect to stay too long.
I had heard of The Arrogant Butcher, but had never been. Overall, I was let down, but I know that was because of my expectations. The Arrogant Butcher is not for a nice date out. It's very lively, which is great for a night on the town or happy hour, but not for a romantic evening out with your significant other. The service was stellar however. We did have a bit of a wait, but the hostess let us know up front that they were unusually busy and during the wait for our dinner, the manager came around and apologized for the wait. The menu was another surprise; there wasn't much there. I'd heard that the lunch menu was good so I assumed the dinner menu was as well. I ended up ordering the Jambalaya, which was likely a mistake on my part, as I am from the south. The chicken was extremely dry and it had no spice/seasoning to it. I ended up taking most of it home and adding cayenne pepper and hot sauce to it. My husband had the scallop meal and he liked it, but the meal only consisted of 6 scallops over a corn mash spread over the plate. He was done in what seemed like seconds, and we ended up getting more food for him to eat after we left.
Overall, I actually would recommend The Arrogant Butcher if you are looking for a place to eat after being out on the town in Downtown Phoenix. The location cannot be beat and they do show NFL games when they are on. I would look elsewhere if you're looking for a nice place to have date night.
