Food was good. Serve was a bit slow and they totally missed the birthday notice added through Open Table. We ordered dessert but no mention of our celebration.
Good food. Great service.
Always a pleasant experience. I'm there very often for several years, never a reason to complain.
Perfect finish after attending a D Back baseball game easy walk from stadium. Outstanding food and service
Party of five Last Sunday night in bar area. First time vistors. We shared artichoke appetizers. Everybody enjoyed themselves and we all tried different entree's.
Food was very disappointing. Atmosphere is nice if you're seated in main restaurant and not in a side room .
Reservations were met, food was good, although salmon was a bit overcooked and dry, service by Hehsay(?) was outstanding - knowledgable, friendly, and attentive, and food came out quicker than we anticipated. There are seating booths for two in the aisle closest to the cooking area, but it is a bit noisier, so suggest you ask for a different area. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely return.
Our dinner was great for us prior to attending the Phoenix Symphony performance.
Food was great. I love the king crab. We came in for a family meal with out of town guests and a baby. Megan our server was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely will be back.
Service was quick but more like they just wanted to churn people in and out of the place fast. Food was nicely prepared just didn’t leave me saying whoa I want to come back here. All in all it was fine just nothing to get excited about.
Really good food and diverse menu. Don't be afraid to mix and match items as well, they are very flexible (I was able to get steak on my salad and it was excellent). Buffalo chicken thighs were heavily fried but still tasty. We had a large group and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Food was excellent some good beers on tap. Went before a D-Backs game and close to the stadium.
Music was a little loud for conversation, but food was excellent ambiance was good
We have been there several times before and had excellent food. This time we ordered a couple of things and both were just so-so. Don’t know what caused the change.
The music was very loud at first. At our request they turned it doe. The hard surfaces reflect the sound too well when the music is loud. Everything else was fabulous. Enjoyed the food and service very much.
We were here two years ago when visiting Phoenix. We had a great experience then and the food was
delicious. This time was not nearly as pleasant or delicious. Our server seemed very stressed and not friendly. We waited 30 minutes (from the time we ordered) for our food which was mediocre at best.
It seems to me that a restaurant which gets packed after baseball games and concerts should be prepared with enough staff so servers are not spread so thin.
Seated in the middle of the restaurant in a large booth. It was a Friday night at 6:15 (had reservations) and the volume was so loud I had to yell across the booth to be heard. I asked our waiter to move us and he said he couldn't hear either, had to always crouch to hear customer's orders. The patio was OK. I ordered an appetizer and iced tea; my friend got a salad and glass of wine; my husband ordered the steak. I also got a side order of chips (which IMHO should have been complimentary). Our bill, with tip, was $102. Our waitress was so-so but managed to get us the check in time for the show we were seeing; she had to be asked twice to validate parking. She was a little annoying with my order, and a little condescending--not top rate service. A lot of money for the experience, which was sub-optimal. Overall, I was disappointed considering this place was highly recommended.
From the beginning to end the experience was wonderful. The Arrogant Butcher has incredible food, classy service and one that is inclusive of everyone!! It was absolutely perfect!!!! Xavier was awesome!!
Enjoyed our first visit here. Food and service were excellent. Sitting outside is delightful both for people watching as well as weather (plenty of shade.). We will be back.
Great food and service! The butcher block option was fabulous.
Accept reservations on game nights, which is great. Food was rushed, big crowd. Usually top shelf food, not this night. Will go again.
From the minute we walked in the door the service was excellent. Easy parking too.
Excellent food and service
1. Walking distance to conference center
2. Quick service
3. Good food and better than nearby restaurants
Excellent. The experience was wonderful. 1st time here to Arizona and it was a nice evening
Surprising last minute find. The restaurant is within walking distance to the Orpheum Phoenix theatre and parking is available right across the street. The food was outstanding (Crab stuffed Chicken and for my guest Scallops). Also, the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla gelato was wonderful. Will absolutely be back.
2nd and last visit. Too many better options. Disappointing for FOX
The food was well prepared and served. Salad was crispy, oysters and shrimp were large and tasty, steak was cooked to perfection. Upscale meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Best oysters that I’ve had in a while (and yes, in the desert no less)
Arrogant Butcher is a great downtown Phoenix eatery. A little hard to get in to on a concert night at Talking Stick Arena as they won’t take reservations on those nights. Go figure and very irritating. But we got in the next night. Hubby had their small salad that is definitely not small and a shrimp appetizer that was huge! I had the Ahi Tuna and broccoli. Deeeelicious! Wait staff was very courteous and efficient. Ambiance not so much — very noisy in this bustling venue with folks lined up to get in the entire time we were there. Luckily we got a booth and sat next to each other in order to hear over the din. Would definitely return. Now fix that ‘no reservations on concert night’ thing you got going.
Great meal and Michael was a fantastic server, who made our date experience great. Thanks!!
A bit pricey for what you get but excellent food. Waitress was not mean or rude but not extra friendly. Maybe she was new or swamped that night.
Reservations handled perfectly, Food excellent, service very good, noise level very high, price high for over all value. We will return but with low frequency
When the best part of the meal was the appetizer you should probably move on. Entrees were bland with no vegetables to complement.
Food was good, not great. For the price I would expect a VEGETABLE with my meal or some bread pre-ceding it. Very basic in terms of presentation for an upper end restaurant. Was stuck back in a windowless room when again, for the price would expect greater ambiance. Sam Fox or no, you guys need to step it up. There are a lot of good restaurants downtown, not to mention I can buy a 20oz. Ribeye at the Keg for $25 and get a vege with my steak and potato WITH bread. Have I made my point here?
Great place - good kids menu just a bit loud
They took a reservation for 4 PM without telling us that you couldn’t get dinner entrées until five. I asked to have my prime rib blackened only to find out that they had no idea what that meant. Also meal came out with maybe 2 tablespoons of watery mash potatoes. My wife’s filet was drenched in Jack Daniels sauce with only 2 sprigs of broccoli. The music was very loud as you are still actually in the bar area. The whole restaurant appears to be run by very young adults. Very very disappointing considering the menu prices.
Wonderful food Great service and great location. Would definitely come back.
The food was outstanding and our server was attentive. Compared to other places we have eaten the cost was low for the great meal and service.
My wife and I were in town for a conference and decided to check it out. DO NOT GET THE MEATLOAF. It was horrible. The grilled Salmon was very good and service was fine from a new server. They were attentive and asked if there was anything they could do after I sent it back, but I was fine at that point. Kind of a buzz kill.
Food was good but service only fair. Never felt like we were being cared for. For the price we paid, the service seem substandard.
