Our service was absolutely incredible as my wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. We had the butcher board which was LOADED with flavor, the crispy shrimp, and prime rib. We loved it all and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Less than expected. Pretty ordinary.
Hostesses forgot us - we were early and waited in the bar. They were chatting and forgot to get us. No apology.
Have been going to the Arrogant Butcher since 2015 and have always enjoyed my experience.
How great is the food and service here? We went just as the Diamondbacks game was ending, but it wasn’t too crowded and our server, Sunday was fabulous. The only disappointment was the reservation was made as a birthday, but the hostesses didn’t say or mention anything. Overall, the experience was fantastic and would definitely recommend.
Fantastic menu food fun setting close to downtown sports venues and great eclectic young vibe that came with amazing service. They were busy last night and my meal was a little delayed from the rest of the table and they were amazing with communication and service recovery and focus without a single comment or request from me. Made me even more loyal for this place as my downtown go to place! Excellent service and food keep it up!
This was my husband and my first time here , We tried the marinated olives , Buffalo wings, a simple salad and prime rib ! It was delicious! Staff was great and environment was comfortable! Makes reservations, it gets busy and worth the peace of mind.
Awesome place! So many choice it makes it hard to decide. Build another in the east valley so I can go more often
Five stars all around. I don’t know which was better; the food or the service.
Not many options on menu. Bit pricey for such small portions. Service was less then average.
The ambiance of this place was so amazing and the waitress was so attentive it was a great experience.
Great food and service!
Our guest loved the place.
Service was a little slow; seemed short staffed. Food and drinks were amazing!
Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was very well done as well.
My first time in downtown Phoenix. I sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive. The Old Old Fashioned was excellent. The Filet Mignon with Asparagus and Green beans, were well prepared and really hit the spot. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, as did the surrounding area (albeit with a good amount of new construction about).
At the bartender's suggestion I walked the two short blocks to Chase Stadium and attended the MLB game between the Diamondbacks and the Mets.
was disappointing not see servers in masks. There is no social distancing or COVID 19 safety precautions taken at this establishment.
Just mediocre food. Not prepared carefully. Flat flavors. The menu is promising but is not delivered on theplate.
Rated highly online, left much to be desired. The food was ok, the atmosphere was better, but the servers were overworked. Oysters came out poorly handled, looked like whoever shucked them put them though a blender. Our charcuterie choices were dumped on a plate and looked very u appealing. For all the highly rates yelp reviews, I was disappointed. Probably won't go back unless it's just for a drink.
Service was slow, the ambiance was lacking and felt like a cafeteria, my pasta dish was cold.
We sat outside and it wasn’t a game night so that would definitely influence the ambience and noise scores!
Our server was excellent! Attentive and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and prepared as presented. We are older so it was a little loud for us. We also wished we had known about the parking situation. We parked where there was no reimbursement for parking fee.
Overall it was an awesome dining experience!
Great food and service.
We like this place before going to games as it is directly across from both Chase Stadium and The Suns Arena. Be sure to make a reservation or you will be waiting a long time. This time we had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and was excellent. I will be coming back.
Close to ball field
Had a great Anniversary dinner at the Arrogant Butcher. Made the reservation through OpenTable and indicated it was our anniversary. Stopped in the Restaurant earlier in the day to see if we could get an outside table. We were able to reserve us one. Also wanted to make sure they had the word that it was our Anniversary. I was told they did.
While the dinner, service and ambience were good, no one acknowledged it was our Anniversary. And I was not going to mention it a third time.
A little petty? Maybe. But I have never had that happen at another restaurant for an Anniversary, and we have now had 47 of them.
All the food was incredibly mediocre. We ordered several items for the charcuterie board which is all ala cart nothing great small portions and adds up. The main dishes included the Kale salad with salmon and the salmon was off (very fishy and sour) Never saw the waitstaff to let her know until we were ready for the check. The Cubans was ok my daughters burger was so plain and dry and the other daughter got the paparedells pasta which was so over salty and gloppy it was not enjoyable. The dinner was very expensive for the quality and quantity. Would not go back.
Enjoyed it immensely. We have been there before and this place never disappoints. My wife said that her fillet melted in her mouth.
We were seated quickly and the attentiveness of our server was great
Celebration of a retirement
Ugh. Waste of $$. Now understand why they named it so. The arrogance of charging what they charge for a decidedly subpar experience.
Went for our anniversary. Seated immediately with a reservation. Noise level was good for conversation. The spinach artichoke dip was small (perfectly portioned for 2) but amazing. The steak however was not great and bland. The prime rib was pretty good and cooked well.
Fantastic! We ordered the filet, pastrami, chicken with lump crabmeat, a Cuban, oysters, spinach artichoke dip, and the peanut butter chocolate caramel pie. All of the dishes were phenomenal. The filet was, by far, the best steak we've ever had. Portions were perfect, service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was inviting for the four of us. We will be back!
I’ve been here for lunch last week with a client and told my little sister she wanted to try it. It was her graduation night so we decided to take everyone. Food was good, I asked for a table because I had heavier guest with me who don’t fit in booths we never got moved. Waiter was either busy or not into us. Never took a drink order, appetizers were served with food, didn’t have much to say when asked what he would recommend as an entree.
Not sure what the Butcher has to be Arrogant about. I would think if you are calling yourself a butcher you would put out a higher quality of meat. When I requested my hamburger medium rare, was told they are all cooked well done as they are too thin for any other request. Sure enough - it was about the same thickness as a Wendy's burger and not much better. The only thing going for this place is the proximity to downtown event venues.
Excellent service! Loved the Butcher’s Tray it was outstanding!
Food was great and our service was amazing will definitely be back
With a name like the Arrogant Butcher I really expected something more. Great atmosphere but now I remember why we always walk past Arrogant Butcher and head straight to Bitter and Twisted.
The menu was pretty bland and boring. Steak knives were dull. Food was bland.
Our server was amazing. She was there when we needed something but not hovering. Just the perfect service. Food and drinks were great.
While the ambiance and food was good, our waiter was less than personable. We felt he was even rude at some points and we had to ask for drink refills and lemons with our entrees. He obviously did it want to be there and was surly.
