   Completely unexceptionable. Nothing at all to complain about. Yet somehow there is no urge to return. Maybe we were just unlucky on the night, but it was not special at all.

   Exceptional food with brilliant, caring and considerate service. Value for money is always a priority with us and we weren’t disappointed. All in all we had a fantastic evening and I would not hesitate recommending The Angel to anyone.

   Summer lunch menu is wonderful! Great selection, delicious food, good portions and such good value for a really lovely lunch! Thoroughly enjoyed and would not hesitate to recommend! Service was spot on too and very pretty place.

   The meal and environment were lovely but the waitress service was not as you would expect in such a good restaurant.

   The Angel never fails on the quality and presentation of their food, the fish is just divine! There was six of us, We have an appointment tomorrow at had their little private room...perfect because We have an appointment tomorrow at are a bit noisy! We all loved our choices and the service was great We have an appointment tomorrow at had a fantastic lunch. Thank you The Angel!

   We had lunch outside and the whole experience was delightful - food, service, atmosphere and surroundings. First time of going but will certainly be back

   At last somewhere I don't feel I am short changing my other half when it comes to the vegetarian offerings with a huge bonus that their specials menu is fish - heaven! My home area near High Wycombe seems a little short on vegetarian and fish (and not a breadcrumb covered anything in sight), so the 60 mile round trip was considered well worth it. If you are planning a visit, Saturday lunch time and any time Monday to Thursday are quiet (can't understand why). Thanks for a great meal, we are planning the next visit now.

   We had an excellent set menu meal which was fantastic value for money. Usually with set menus, the portion sizes can be on the small side, which is fine. But not on this occasion at The Angel. The food was very good and beautifully presented with very professional service. We were celebrating a birthday, and without really mentioning it to the restaurant, they simply overhead us. And at the end of the meal, they presented us with some chocolates with a Happy Birthday Message. Outstanding.

    Have been to Angel many times. This was for celebration with daughter and fiancé after recent engagement. Sadly, not up to scratch. Crispy squid, which 2 of the 4 of us had, was anything but crispy and two tiny overcooked pieces seemed very little, especially given the price. The cheese soufflé had clearly been warmed up or kept warm and was in fact hollow and crispy. Mains, the hake was good as was the lamb. However the Yorkshire pudding with the beef was even crispier than the cheese soufflé and had clearly been rewarmed. Desserts were good. It was Father’s Day and I know they were busy, but given the price point of this restaurant/pub, we were very disappointed on this occasion. We did not complain as we did not wish to make a fuss and ruin a celebration with my daughter, however we are unlikely to be rushing back.
