View Private Dining DetailsAlways a good time whether quiet it festive. Brunch is a good time. Very attentive Service. The food hasn't disappointed yet 🤓✌️🖖
I live in the neighborhood and have been coming here for many years. Most know of the roof terrace for dining and drinks but the Salsa brunch on the main floor 12-3 is always great. They recently got a new chef who has brought the food from 6/7 (out of 10) to an 9. The live music is also great and it is usually not crowded. I recommend the huevos rancheros, pancakes, chicken sausage and huevos Mexicana. Service is always great and I love the boutique hotel vibe. There is also a back area outside on the ground floor for when it gets warmer if you don’t want to deal with the crowds.
Good place for friendly conversation.
Love the space. High quality Mexican food, great drinks. Service is generally excellent. Like in Mexico, you're shouldn't be shy if you want attention--they're more likely to leave you alone and not intrude, rather than to check on you every few minutes. I appreciate this, but I'm sure some Americans complain about it. All in all a great place.
Very nice place. A bit too expensive. Food is good but it cost a arm and a leg
Although we unintentionally ate vegan for dinner, our food was delicious. Kale salad, Brussel sprouts and polenta were all delicious. The staff zealously took care of us.
I love this place. The service is not wonderful but the food is good. It is quiet so it's actually a great spot to have a meeting or be able to have a nice conversation. The aesthetic is clean and the big window makes the place look open.
great Saturday Brunch food was excellent and service friendly and attentive...would def recommend if in area esp if want to find a great place near High Line for bite of coffee..
The food and atmosphere at The Americano in the lobby restaurant are great! I take coworkers and clients to breakfast and lunch there often. I can count on great service, great food and it's never too busy since it's tucked away in Chelsea. The decor is classy and chic, I always feel great about scheduling a breakfast or lunch meeting there, but it would be great for the same with friends. One day I'll try it for dinner too!
Love it, work nearby, and nice for business lunches. Upscale and urbane, service can be spotty though, especially in the evening.
I always love this place for its ambience and neighborhood setting with the Highline and art district. Real good food choices and people watching.
Long time fan and customer of the Americano
Today was a pretty terrible service experience
Had to beg multiple times for items we previously ordered or requested. A very annoying and sub par dining experience.
The restaurant was empty and the food was average. Not quite what I was expecting considering all of the hype
Lovely food, lovely surroundings. Service was also very good! Will definitely be back againb
The dinning room is very nice with a cool vibe, there is also outside dinning in the back of the space. The food was OK, My daughter and wife had a lobster roll which was a lobster salad with very little lobster. My sons Steak & eggs was a very small portion. Service was not great. At one point the waiter brought milk for my coffee, I asked for cream instead, by the time he came back my coffee was cold. Seems like they need to get a better handle on who is responsible for what. They validated my parking and it is very close to the Highline entrance. The best part was the cool Latin jazz quartet that played in the dinning room.
Wish I'd known that dinner didn't start until 6pm when I made my 5:30pm dinner reservation... Either way though, we enjoyed a bottle of wine and a very nice appetizer while waiting. Dinner was delicious.
THIS RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED AND WE WERE FORCED TO SIT IN THE ROOFTOP BAR. Unacceptable!
Don't get the lobster roll. Tiniest lobster roll I've ever seen. Embarrassing.
no good menu .
very poor menu.
change menu for brunch
Amazing experience. The food and the staff provide exceptional service with a smile. I have not received this type of service in quite sometime, and I dine at the most exclusive restaurants in Manhattan. Absolutely impressed.
We were searching for a nice restaurant not too far from the Javits Center to have dinner after the auto show. It did not appear that there were many options. I came across Americano on Open Table and the menu was just what we were looking for. Service was great, we were seated and served quickly and the food was absolutely delicious!
Never had a bed meal there. Always a pleasurable experience.
great live music!
Pricing was good. The ambiance of the place was pretty cool as you would expect from a boutique hotel. We ordered from their prix fixe menu but they did not have the soup du jour available so the only other choice as their avocado toast which was delicious. The lobster roll was too saucy with too much celery - it was okay. Their service was lacking. Although our server was very friendly, there was no follow up, we were missing utensils and kept having to call their attention. We had to be the ones to ask for refills on our beverages and to order dessert. It didn't seem like the staff had a system in place. May have been an off day for them but a shame since it is our first time trying the place.
Amazing live music
Valentine's Day dinner, & this place is local for us, so decided to try it. Everything was great, except after being seated, there was a huge delay in our server introducing himself. There seemed to be some confusion about who had our table, but even after this was resolved, our service remained poor throughout. The meal was good enough that we'all give it another shot, but will be a bit on guard...
Food was alright, neighborhood is up and coming.
Fabulous service at a really fun place. Great food
We loved the brunch dishes we ordered -- tasty preparations in something like "spa cuisine"-sized portions -- great for enjoying a meal with rich ingredients without going overboard. Eggs Benedict had bacon and broccoli rabe, a delicious combo -- much more interesting and textured than spinach. Lobster roll was somewhat spendy on the menu, but arrived with a good-sized serving for the price.
I liked the decor, which was very modern and open, but my husband thought it was a bit too much like dining in a lobby. Goes to one's preference.
Service and hospitality was warm, professional and all awfully good looking. Welcome to Chelsea.
Was really quite surprised. If you're in this area, it's one of the only options for lunch before noon and it's one of only a handful of options for lunch on a Monday. The food was excellent--could have had a keg of the soup! Portions were substantial. It was rather empty for our pre-noon lunch so hard to judge ambiance and noise when it's a full house. Service was friendly although could have been a bit more attentive (esp since the place was mostly empty). Let's put it this way: I came back to my office and told everyone about it. There IS food life off of 10th Avenue in West Chelsea.
For a Hotel Restaurant attached to a boutique property, The Americano offers exactly what one would expect; a varied menu for all comers, excellent execution and a hi vibe. But with that goes poorly organized but friendly service by a team that lacks supervision and training. Every food item was well executed, well presented and packed with flavor. Without question pork chop is one of the stars of the current menu. The wine list is spare but thoughtfully assembled and offers more gentle price points for the demographic attracted to the hotel as guests. If you are in the neighborhood the chef's expert work is a reason to go.
Service was great and just attentive enough without crossing over into annoying. The space itself was lovely. Our entrees, while delicious on paper, were slightly overcooked and tended towards dry. This was especially true for the kingfish dish, which is served over yucca roots—the fish itself was just a tad overcooked and the yucca, while a nice addition in place of something more standard, like potatoes, were unappealingly starchy without the benefit of a juicier protein to eat them with.
Great location for lunch when galleries hopping in Chelsea. We were very happy to find a live music Jazz band with an exceptional talented singer. The food is tasty compliments the minimalist decoration. The only downside is the single toilet for all genders, you fond yourself waiting in the middle of the lobby.
It was a very slow night, at 8.30pm there were only 4 tables booked. We picked a bottle of red wine, but they only had 1 left. The wine list was nothing special, but clearly way overpriced. The scallops came 10 minutes after all the other plates. The salmon was overcooked, and the coq au vin was dry.
Depending on where you're sitting, there is a draft through the glass door.
None of my friends or myself are planning to return to this poorly run place.
The food was spectacular. It is a very posh low key place to grab a great meal. Everyone on staff was a delight and I will definitely be going back.
Very disappointing. Service is lax, food was lukewarm at best and meals didn't include everything stated on the menu. The atmosphere is terrific, so it's unfortunate that the dining experience is so disappointing. It seems as if good management is needed.
Excellent, food, service, ambiance...but pulsating music was not my taste and didn't fit the atmosphere..change music
Good place to eat for a business lunch, very pricey and service was poor but the food was very good. My burger was delish- cooked perfect with a bacon/jalapeño jam!
Americano had great food. I had a kale salad though that had way too much dressing on it. I thought the restaurant ws beautiful but it was completely empty, too empty with double height ceilings. Service was great.
Beautiful environment. One of the coolest places to grab a bite or a coffee in the gallery area of West Chelsea... Sit on their back deck or chill in the main restaurant or get a coffee to go and hit the hi line its all good.
