Our first time and it was a great evening! We were early for our reservation so we went and sat at the bar. Excellent strong martinis. Had the Hendricks with cucumber it was so good. The lobby and bar is very nice was surprised how beautiful it is.
The food was excellent! We had the Seafood Cocktail platter it was so go! We sat outside for dinner. It was the perfect day to have dinner outside.
Definitely a gem hiding in Freehold.
We enjoyed our Saturday evening outing here overall. Menu selection was very good, something for everyone. Portions were generous. Filet mignon ordered by wife and me with differing requests on temperature both came about a notch too cooked. Both daughters ordered Clams and linguini and the Salmon respectively. Both enjoyed immensely. Appetizers and desserts were both great. Rolls in basket were over warmed and tough to bite. Server Leslie was sweet and attentive. We didn't feel rushed and had a nice celebration and enjoyed the ambience other than a table two over which had 4 kids under 4 years old laying down on chairs and just being preschoolers. No fault of the restaurant just a wildcard of today's dining experience.
Menu is a bit pricey and the food was just okay. The service was excellent. It was a very lively crowd on a Saturday night. A good place to come with friends.
Good food - good service.
Steak was extremely tough and not chewable even though it was rare.
Not impressed. Food was less than impressive.
Not going back anytime soon.
We had a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Waiter was very attentive without being overbearing. Food was well prepared and drinks were generous. Based upon price this is not an everyday destination but very good for a special occasion.
Everything was great except for the service. The waiter seemed annoyed and rough. We dine 3-4 times a week and never experienced this behavior.
Went for a late dinner and ate outside because it was a pleasant night. Food was very good and service was decent. However, our evening was ruined when people decided to smoke cigars and cigarettes. Rushed our dinner and decided against dessert and coffee. I will never eat outside again.
Overall great with excellent service and meal as well as being clean and quiet
Why can't more restaurants be like this? Everything was as you would expect. Seated promptly, server came by brought us water, we ordered a bottle of wine as we reviewed the menu. When she returned we ordered. The appetizer came out. We love the artichoke hearts. Then the mains we had fish tacos and the pork chop. Everything was very good. No complaints, no sending anything back etc. A restaurant doing its job.
Had a 7:30 reservation for a party of 6. Waited one hour for a table before deciding to leave to go to another restaurant. Management was unconcerned and unaccomodating!!
Are outdoors. Service was spot on and meal was yummy.
I planned a meeting and it was not organised the table i wanted was not prepared. It looked like the staff took break there.
I am local and have gone on many occasions. This one seemed a bit off. Had the hummus sampler which is always great; always tastes very fresh and authentic.
I then had the geek salad but is was a big miss on this occasion.
It was a very enjoyable 45th birthday brunch buffet.
Requesting a table near the fire place made the ambiance really excellent!
The ballroom layout is very easy to navigate as a visually impaired diner.
The buffet food was excellent, except it could have been kept a bit hotter.
The servers were excellent perhaps a bit camera shy.
My friends and I spent 3 hours and were not rushed out that I find pleasantly nice.
He food was amazing and the staff couldn’t do more to make sure we had a great experience! Definitely a place I will be visiting regularly
This was our second visit for brunch with friends. The buffet had a wide variety of both hot and cold dishes that were nicely prepared and very tasty. The service was pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend it for brunch.
The service was wonderful but the food was lacking in both preparation and flavor. My branzino was swimming in a garlic butter sauce that did it no favors except to hide the fact it was overcooked. My husband's burger was "okay" and my son's grilled chicken salad was sad. Way overpriced for mediocre food.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Only thing I worry about is the owner loves loud music which overwhelms the conversation. Thankfully, the live, loud music didn't play when we dinned but we did rush to get out before it did. Place would be perfect for jazz music or acoustic music. Instead, live drum set which is waaaaayyy to loud for this place and loud DJ. Appropriate for after 10pm, but not during main dinning hours. And many others say the same thing. Trust me, I ask around. The waitstaff 100% agrees. People don't come for a concert, they come for great food and great conversation.
Always enjoy The American Hotel for dinner. Was definitely disappointed for Sunday Brunch. Not in the Food but in the location. The banquet room is very noisy and stark. I expected a bit more variety on the food. Also a bit on the pricey side.
Went for Sunday brunch! The food was very good. Nice selection. Service was excellent. Ambiance was ok. Lots of people in jeans and dresses casually for a Sunday brunch. $10 pitchers of mimosas and bloody Mary’s were great
Have been here many times and it’s an enjoyable experience. Gets quite noisy but that would be the only complaint. Attentive service and never felt rushed.
Food was just ok for the price I would expect higher quality. Calamari was rubbery, lobster bisque so-so, dessert my guess they used short cuts with prepared canned apple pie filling. There are better options at this price point. Highlight would be the servers - very attentive.
The great waiter and great service added to the enjoyment of the meal. The food actually came out of the kitchen hot, which is more than I can say for many restaurants. The food was good, not great and the prices were on the high. In some cases the prices were higher than those on the restaurant Bieber site menu. I would recommend with reservation.
We were there during the Nor'Easter. The staff was very pleasant even dealing with power outage. Food did not suffer at all.
It was ok. Not the best, not the worst.
Cannot state enough, I have never had a bad meal here, in fact they have always been amazing. My wife and I always seem to go there for our special celebrations, whether our anniversary or like this time her birthday. The service was outstanding and the manager coming over to check to make sure everything was to our standards is always appreciated. We had the porterhouse for 2, so worth it, perfect medium and the sides were great.
Everything was great, perfect Sunday morning brunch. Staff is friendly and attentive. The food is exceptional and no one rushes you. This was our 4th time having brunch and we will be back.
Loved it. We have gone here 3 times for our date nights. This time around, it was a little more noisy then usually and the lights were so bright that it was actually making us warm and uncomfortable.
What a fantastic dining experience. The service is top notch. The food was excellent. We were even greeted by the owner who was a great guy!
We will definitely be back.
Portions are very large so most people take food home. I found all of the dishes I ordered were overly salty.
Overpriced not worth the money at all complete disappointment
Our reservation was towards the end of the brunch. Most foods we’re over cooked in their chafing dishes. There was no chef at the omelette station and a server had to go get one. The cold items like the shrimp, oysters, salad and dessert items were excellent. Table service was good and the staff was friendly.
Our large party was very well taken care of by the staff at The American Hotel - Market Yard Grille! Our servers were wonderful and attentive, the food was terrific, and the restaurant was very accommodating. The ambience in the fireplace room was perfect, and everyone in our party has been raving about the entire experience. Thank you so much for a special evening!
First time there, menu looked promising but lacked flavor. I had the lobster and shrimp bisque and it was just a chunky tomato soup. Entrees were basic had little flavor. Not bad but not good. Waiter was attentive but never smiled and was not engaging. All the severs were huddled by the stair near our table talking instead of working. It was strange. It’s also the place you go if you are over 60. We saw two tables leave before getting food that were younger, assume they left because it was too stuffy. Will never go back and would never recommend.
Everything was great!!!! Jameson our waiter was “AMAZING”.
He was very attentive and wasn’t pushy at all. He recommended a fabulous bottle of red wine that was middle of the road not ridiculously expensive. Most waiters/waitress push the most expensive wine.
Very nice atmosphere for our New Year dinner. Paella was awesome as was the filet. Reasonable pricing on a Stag’s Leap (leaping) cab. Will go back.
Good food. Good service. Great place to spend Christmas Eve.
Went with the family for Christmas Eve. Food was great service was excellent. Will definitely return
