We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Braised short ribs were excellent and so was the fra diavalo. The appetizer of shrimp and lobster was definitely worth it and the service was very good. We would recommend this restaurant. Nice atmosphere too. Outdoor seating is also available.
We are big fans of this restaurant Sunday thru Thursday, when the service is great, food is wonderful and you can carry on a conversation in a casual, yet upscale, environment.
My wife and I have been to the American Hotel Market Yard Grille many times. Each time, good food and good service.
We have frequented the American Hotel Market Grill for years and have always had a great experience and a great meal. The service was outstanding and all servers were attentive to our needs with the host stopping by along with other restaurant management to check on our meal and experience.
A little noisy so if you are there to have a quite conversation perhaps do not sit in the main dining area but overall everyone seemed to be having a good time and noticed that when the entrées came the table conversation ended and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Pecan Chicken Salad was excellent, service was exceptional.
Very good food.
Hadn’t been there in many years and was glad to see that the food was as good as I remember. Also, half price bottles of wine on Wednesday night.
The food was prepared with great flavor. The soft shell crabs were excellent, so were the lobster wontons.
Little on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for. Food was excellent, the service was excellent. Good night out and worth the little bit more
My salmon was just fair. Lamb chops were less then average with no seasoning to taste. The only good thing was the waiter. We won’t be back any time soon.
Our visit here was on a busy Saturday night but service and food were above average for this hotel restaurant. Very busy Bar scene too, with an older crowed.
They offered a long list of daily specials, of which one was soft shell crabs, that I chose and they were excellent. They do have a larger choice of items then I would have expected on there menu and everything that our group ordered, they did enjoy. We will be back.
Once again we were not disappointed from the drinks to our dinner everything was perfect
We went for Fathers Day. Food was outstanding. We were treated like royalty.
Brunch for Father's Day. Market yard Grille sticks to a very traditional menu. Heavy with cheeses, bacon, sausage and some standard breakfast and lunch fares. Tired antipasto display. There was enough to satisfy a healthier, more informed consumer, but nevertheless disappointing. They need to emphasis more fresh whole foods, fruit and veges, dishes not laden in sauces or cheese. They need to reinvent themselves.
We came for brunch on Father’s Day and it was absolutely delicious. So many options to choose from and all very nicely presented. There was also a wonderful man playing a keyboard and singing like an angel. It was so nice, we will definitely go back
Our first time and it was a great evening! We were early for our reservation so we went and sat at the bar. Excellent strong martinis. Had the Hendricks with cucumber it was so good. The lobby and bar is very nice was surprised how beautiful it is.
The food was excellent! We had the Seafood Cocktail platter it was so go! We sat outside for dinner. It was the perfect day to have dinner outside.
Definitely a gem hiding in Freehold.
We enjoyed our Saturday evening outing here overall. Menu selection was very good, something for everyone. Portions were generous. Filet mignon ordered by wife and me with differing requests on temperature both came about a notch too cooked. Both daughters ordered Clams and linguini and the Salmon respectively. Both enjoyed immensely. Appetizers and desserts were both great. Rolls in basket were over warmed and tough to bite. Server Leslie was sweet and attentive. We didn't feel rushed and had a nice celebration and enjoyed the ambience other than a table two over which had 4 kids under 4 years old laying down on chairs and just being preschoolers. No fault of the restaurant just a wildcard of today's dining experience.
Menu is a bit pricey and the food was just okay. The service was excellent. It was a very lively crowd on a Saturday night. A good place to come with friends.
Good food - good service.
Steak was extremely tough and not chewable even though it was rare.
Not impressed. Food was less than impressive.
Not going back anytime soon.
We had a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Waiter was very attentive without being overbearing. Food was well prepared and drinks were generous. Based upon price this is not an everyday destination but very good for a special occasion.
Everything was great except for the service. The waiter seemed annoyed and rough. We dine 3-4 times a week and never experienced this behavior.
Overall, the food was very good and ambiance is very nice. Clean place, well decorated, good temperature. The mussels were a little too big and kind of sandy. All else we ordered was very good. Service was prompt and polite. Local place we enjoy.
Went for a late dinner and ate outside because it was a pleasant night. Food was very good and service was decent. However, our evening was ruined when people decided to smoke cigars and cigarettes. Rushed our dinner and decided against dessert and coffee. I will never eat outside again.
Overall great with excellent service and meal as well as being clean and quiet
Why can't more restaurants be like this? Everything was as you would expect. Seated promptly, server came by brought us water, we ordered a bottle of wine as we reviewed the menu. When she returned we ordered. The appetizer came out. We love the artichoke hearts. Then the mains we had fish tacos and the pork chop. Everything was very good. No complaints, no sending anything back etc. A restaurant doing its job.
Had a 7:30 reservation for a party of 6. Waited one hour for a table before deciding to leave to go to another restaurant. Management was unconcerned and unaccomodating!!
Are outdoors. Service was spot on and meal was yummy.
I planned a meeting and it was not organised the table i wanted was not prepared. It looked like the staff took break there.
I am local and have gone on many occasions. This one seemed a bit off. Had the hummus sampler which is always great; always tastes very fresh and authentic.
I then had the geek salad but is was a big miss on this occasion.
It was a very enjoyable 45th birthday brunch buffet.
Requesting a table near the fire place made the ambiance really excellent!
The ballroom layout is very easy to navigate as a visually impaired diner.
The buffet food was excellent, except it could have been kept a bit hotter.
The servers were excellent perhaps a bit camera shy.
My friends and I spent 3 hours and were not rushed out that I find pleasantly nice.
He food was amazing and the staff couldn’t do more to make sure we had a great experience! Definitely a place I will be visiting regularly
This was our second visit for brunch with friends. The buffet had a wide variety of both hot and cold dishes that were nicely prepared and very tasty. The service was pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend it for brunch.
The service was wonderful but the food was lacking in both preparation and flavor. My branzino was swimming in a garlic butter sauce that did it no favors except to hide the fact it was overcooked. My husband's burger was "okay" and my son's grilled chicken salad was sad. Way overpriced for mediocre food.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Only thing I worry about is the owner loves loud music which overwhelms the conversation. Thankfully, the live, loud music didn't play when we dinned but we did rush to get out before it did. Place would be perfect for jazz music or acoustic music. Instead, live drum set which is waaaaayyy to loud for this place and loud DJ. Appropriate for after 10pm, but not during main dinning hours. And many others say the same thing. Trust me, I ask around. The waitstaff 100% agrees. People don't come for a concert, they come for great food and great conversation.
Always enjoy The American Hotel for dinner. Was definitely disappointed for Sunday Brunch. Not in the Food but in the location. The banquet room is very noisy and stark. I expected a bit more variety on the food. Also a bit on the pricey side.
Went for Sunday brunch! The food was very good. Nice selection. Service was excellent. Ambiance was ok. Lots of people in jeans and dresses casually for a Sunday brunch. $10 pitchers of mimosas and bloody Mary’s were great
Have been here many times and it’s an enjoyable experience. Gets quite noisy but that would be the only complaint. Attentive service and never felt rushed.
Food was just ok for the price I would expect higher quality. Calamari was rubbery, lobster bisque so-so, dessert my guess they used short cuts with prepared canned apple pie filling. There are better options at this price point. Highlight would be the servers - very attentive.
