We really enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We love that they have added a bar so you can enjoy a drink before dinner
Our visit was for my wife's 60+ birthday. First time there and it was the best experience we've had in years. All of our food was superb - appetizers, entrees, drinks & dessert. Customer service was top notch, too. This was a special occasion dinner and a great $100 value!
The band, Mugsy's Groove, played low & mellow, so conversation was easy. They also lead a round of "Happy Birthday" for the crowd's singing to Heather!
We will most definitely come back!!
Loved the Friday night music!
This was a great experience for our special occasion. The food was amazing!
Small and cozy place, felt a bit overcrowded that Saturday evening. Served us quickly, friendly waitress. Everything was delicious. I tried their special dish - Jerusalem chicken - was very tender and juicy, and the chicken pear salad, that was also tasty. My friends were also happy with their choices. With beers, we paid about $27 per person.
The food was excellent. The seafood In my entree was cooked perfectly. (I hate it when seafood is over cooked). I can’t remember what my three friends had but there were no complaints about the food or service. I would say it was slightly overpriced by about 10%. It was a bit dark and I had a little trouble seeing my menu. But I would recommend it to my friends.
It’s a cute place I️ had a reservation for 6:30 we got there a little earlier so they sat us at a table in the bar area the food is ok but I️ was impressed with the young lady at the bar she managed to work the bar and wait on all the people in that area in a very efficient way 👍
Did not even eat there. Food smelt great but owner very rude to me and my party upon arrival
Steak was cooked to perfection. Kid friendly wait-staff, the waitress was friendly, although a little overworked. Experience would have been enhanced with more attention to our needs/wants. Overall, we had a great meal that included two youngsters, ages 3 and 6.
We stumbled upon this restaurant on open table and decided to check it out. I am so glad we did! The ambience is romantic and inviting. The service was friendly and outstanding. I ordered the chicken Jerusalem and my husband the schnitzel. Both entrees were absolutely delicious. We had salads for an appetizer as well bruschetta. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. It has become a must go to destination for us when in Leavenworth.
Great cozy vibe. My canneloni was fantastic. My dining companions had the seafood liguini, manicotti and spaghetti with meatballs and ALL received high reviews. The Caesar salad was phenomenal. All in all a fantastic experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Atmosphere was lovely, live band was great, unexpected surprise entire restraint sang happy bday (including the band) to my hubby! Food that was recommended by waitress was incredible. Food not recommended by her wasn’t that great which was classic lasagna and cannelloni.
Not good as used to be. Pasta served on cold plates. Food did not look fresh. Good wines and nice ambience though.
I have never had such terrible service in any restaurant. The server wrote down my husband’s request of a Caesar salad, it never arrived. The server looked dazed and confused when I asked her where his salad was. Then she tried to give me someone’s else’s meal. My husband and I and 1 other couple were the only ones in there. How she could have mixed everything up is beyond me. We will never be returning to this restaurant in Leavenworth again. She also told us she comped us our wine because of the mix up, but she lied about that also. I left her a $5 tip and that was $5 too much. Horrible experience that I do not care to have a 2nd time.
Very friendly and attentive service. Food was amazing and served in a timely manner. Great evening all around.
Good food at a reasonable price. Would definitely go back
We generally liked the Alley Café. We had eaten at Visconti's the night before. The Alley Café is smaller and more intimate. We enjoyed the food but we were rushed. Our reservation was at 7:30 on a Sunday evening in February and there was one other table occupied when we arrived. We had just gotten back from skiing. The waitress was nice but brought entrees before we were finished with salads and generally was pushing us along as if they wanted to close for the night. The feeling of being rushed seemed quite a contrast to the small quaint Italian feel that they seemed to be striving for. We also thought that the restaurant was silent and they should have had some music playing.
Great food, great service and reasonably priced! Have been there numerous times over the past few years and always leave a happy customer.
Outstanding!! So much so that we celebrate our anniversary here about every three years due to the drive.
Steve, and the entire staff are top notch!! Great place and great atmosphere!
Front room is a must for your special occasion date night. Wonderful food!
My fiancé and I went to eat here on Tuesday night during our stay in Leavenworth. We have never been so disappointed in a restaurant before. We arrived at 7pm and were seated right away because we had a reservation. We were brought water and dinner rolls that had been purchased from the store in a bag. They were not very good at all and not what we expected from a high priced Italian restaurant. We ordered within 20 minutes of sitting down. An hour went by and we began to wonder where our food was. Luckily we hadn't been too hungry when we arrived, but the restaurant was not very busy and shouldn't have been taking that long. We asked the waitress about how much longer our food would be and she said they were plating it. Should be a few more minutes. 20 more minutes went by so my fiancé went to the front desk to ask about our meal once more and she said they were plating it now and should be a few more minutes. He told the waitress that's what she said 20 minutes ago and we still hadn't received our food. She then got an attitude and very rudely asked if we wanted to cancel our order. At that point we were upset and starving. We had no idea how much longer it would be so we cancelled our order. The waitress yelled into the kitchen that we cancelled the food and then turned her back to us and began speaking to someone else. We didn't receive any kind of apology or even an attempt at accommodation. The service was awful and we never even got to taste the food. It was so disappointing. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Nice atmosphere and the food was okay, but it took more than an hour to receive our order with absolutely no communication or acknowledgement from the staff. When asked where it was they just made excuses. It's a busy town and the place was not full, so it was inexcusable to be so slow. Too bad it left such a bad feeling with us, because the venue itself is quite cute and charming, and the hot German wine was unique.
Food is mediocre at best. Decor is out of the 80's and in desperate need of upgrading. Service was friendly and a bit too fast which was a dead giveaway that the food was probably pre-made and cranked out like a factory, and not in an efficient well oiled machine kind of way. I loved the 3 piece jazz band playing and made the evening very pleasant. I really really want to like this place but the food really just kills it.
Not worth a meal. The host lectured me when we arrived because he said he doesn't get the information from Open Table on a timely fashion however we were "lucky" because he had a table for six available. The martini with olives was horrible ....only a half glass and no olives. We ordered a kids pizza with no pepperoni and the waitress made a big deal about how it would be special but they could do it because it was normally a pepperoni pizza. It came burnt with pepperoni and had to be redone. The last meal did not come until all of the other five were almost finished eating. We were never asked it we'd like dessert just brought the bill. Horrible....so not a place I'd go again.
Dinner was so good. The lemon cheesecake was amazing! The only recommendation we have was you need different rolls than just plain white rolls. There not italian at all. Some good french bread/ garlic bread would complete the dinner.
Nice local in-town spot away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Have visited a few times now and not been disappointed.
Very generous portions , reasonable prices. Good service
The we ordered from the list was not available
The two dishes ordered were described as having bernaise sauce. It was NOT a bernaise sauce. The crab was obviously frozen and flavorless If we return we would order pasta dishes ONLY
Wasn't happy with one choice of bread would have enjoyed a garlic bread Alfredo had no cheese flavor and very small portion service was poor as well!! Wont be back
I had read in a few reviews that the service was subpar but we didn't experience that in the least. The food was quite good, the ambiance warm and inviting, and the live music an unexpected bonus. A very nice evening despite it being a busy Oktoberfest weekend.
By Leavenworth standards (which I find lax) this place is great. However, overall I found the food good but not outstanding . Their house rolls that we so highly recommended were dry and lacking any flavor. The service was good as well as the food but nothing outstanding or memorable. The ambiance was deserving the highest praise of any element however the lighting needed improvement. Two more ceiling lamps would have solved the issues but when you are away from the windows things feel very dim.
Good food, we had lasagna and stuffed cannoli. The atmosphere was romantic, great wine selection and attentive service. We will dine there again.
Easy, quiet meal. Live Jazz music the night I was there. Good service even though they were short staffed. Portion was large, took leftovers for another meal. I had an Italian dish and my guest had fish. We were satisfied with our meals.
We came here for our fifth anniversary. We ordered a glass of syrah and a Manhattan. I got my glass of syrah, but my boyfriend got a whiskey sour, not a Manhattan. The lobster bisque was pretty good, and my boyfriend said the coconut prawns were good. The pesto on the caprese salad was AMAZING, but the mozzarella to tomato ratio was way off. I asked for more tomatoes and they obliged. I also thought it was weird that they cut the tomatoes so thin.
For our entrees we ordered the halibut a la creme and the seafood fettuccine alfredo. The halibut looked great but the flavor was very much lacking, especially after having the halibut at Sulla Vita semi-recently, which was superbly flavorful. The green beans accompanying the halibut were definitely previously frozen and very blah besides the little bit of cheese that was added on top. As for my seafood fettuccine alfredo, there were four tiny clams on top, two prawns in the whole dish and one very large scallop cut in half. I didn't eat all of the scallop because the center seemed under-cooked. The amount of crab meat was great but it was pretty blah tasting. The alfredo sauce was watery and flavorless. I think part of the reason the sauce was so thin and runny was because they didn't strain the fettuccine well enough. The items listed on the menu are fine dining options but the food you're served is far from fine dining.
As we were leaving we walked past a-whole-nother side of the restaurant that I didn't even realize existed! A very PRIVATE area where I only saw one couple sitting. The perfect place to seat a couple celebrating their five year anniversary. Seeing that area made me realize that our waitress must not have received our OpenTable reservation requesting a private(ish) table if possible. I don't know if the reservations go to the owner and he doesn't pass them on to his staff, if there's some technical difficulty, or if they just ignore the reservations made through OpenTable.
Dinner was pricey I thought. Nothing exceptional to justify prices. Service was SLOW - our server was very nice but slow. Group that came in AFTER us was attended to and received food before us. Server was aware we were finished and still took too long to bring us the check, then again to bring it back. Very slow night in the restaurant so really no reason for it to take over 35 minutes to get our meal.
Probably will not try it again. Sorry.
We went to this after a musical in Leavenworth. Had the delicious pear chicken salad and the coconut prawns. Very delicious!
Great service, as always. We have been here many times when we go to the Leavenworth Summer Theater!
Had a live trio playing background music. Not too loud and we could converse. Food is always good and good wine selection. Lasagna and Lobster bisque are favs.
This is one of the best places to take a date. The ambiance, atmosphere, and especially the food are all spectacular. The setting is in an alley so the views are not much to look at, but the overall feel of the Alley Café more than makes up for the lack of scenery. Definitely a place to return to.
Food is nothing special. The ambiance is nothing special either. But our waitress was very nice
Great dining experience
