The Alley Cafe
Great food, ambiance, all we needed for a special birthday.
We used open table to reserve a table for Friday night for our anniversary. I received an email confirming my reservation. When we arrived they didn't have the reservation and had some excuse about not having the ability to check it at work only on a cell phone. Seemed odd that they would use open table if they can't check it. We were seated in the bar which was fine because it was quieter. Our meals were good but not outstanding. Not really sure if I would recommend to a friend or not.
Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Service was great and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. Live music started up in the adjacent lounge about halfway through our meal and it was excellent music that was relaxing and not too loud. Highly recommend this place!
My wife wondered why they would decorate their entry wall with vintage nude cheesecake photos. Service was friendly and attentive. Her pesto pasta dish was adequate. Pricey for a simple pasta. My schnitzel was inedible. The meat was dry, tough and tasteless. The so-called mushroom reduction I'm guessing was from a mix. A glossy pasty blob. The cafeteria-style sides of mashed potatoes and broccoli were simply dull. The waitress was professional enough to adjust our bill. I am just amazed the chef allowed this dish to leave the kitchen.
Live music every Thursday, small intimate setting. good bar, dinner, not so much. The chicken Parmesan was dry and not saucy, and the swill style schnitzel was slightly overcooked - both seem to have been prepared well ahead of time. Service was great.
We enjoy the Alley Cafe because it's small and quiet enough to visit with dinner guests.
The menu has a good variety of choices and the prices are fair. We had a new waitress,
and she did a good job. Steve, the owner, is friendly and helpful.
The name doesn't do this place justice, it's more a full on Italian restaurant than a café. Service was on point and food was amazing, highly recommend the seafood and their garlic bread.
Really a great meal. Will be going back for sure.
My daughter’s engagement announcement.
It was all together good, but me and my wife are young and the manager went and talked to the other 3 tables but not us.
This is a hidden gem located in the appropriately named Alley. The service was over the top, the owner of the restaurant even came over to talk to us and give the menu some color. Good wine list with plenty to choose from. We loved the menu, wide variety of options. They even had schnitzel, one of us ordered and it was spot on good. We have had dinner often in Leavenworth, but this will be our go to for Italian and schnitzel.
The food was very good and the service was not bad. Wehad two babies with us (group of 7) and from the time we walked in the door, we could tell they were not thrilled that we had small children. But our kids were well behaved and we had lots of wine, so they were somewhat okay with us.
nice quite restaurant with cool intimate bar just off the main drag tucked on the corner alley. Surprisingly great!
A must visit dining experience in Leavenworth. If you enjoy authentic Italian cuisine this is the place. Very friendly staff, quiet and romantic most nights - quaint and small. Located right off front street. While you can easily spend $100 for dinner for 2 it is well worth it. My new favorite restaurant in Leavenworth.
Proposed to my girl here and believe it or not, she said yes!!! After stuttering and asking why I was on one knee that is, perfect place and atmosphere, food was great!!
The service was rushed and the food was average.
Excellent experience with friendly, quality service. Much appreciated
With a limited number of restaurants in Leavenworth, it was great to find a gem like this! They were very friendly and the food was amazing. Would like to see an expanded wine assortment. it seems that most of Leavenworth has the same choices. Will be back for sure!
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We arrived to Leavenworth late on a Friday evening and I had reserved a table. We were seated immediately. Cozy and warm, but the music was a little loud in such a small space. Definitely worth the drive. The menu had an excellent selection and the food was all very rich with good flavor. Kids even loved it.
First and only visit was ........ meh
Claim broth lacked anything substantial, taste was okay to good. Half the shells were empty. Yah, no claim meat in shells. Lol
New York Strip.... well it was cooked to temperature but that’s it. You could tell it was thrown in water or an oven for the perfect temp, the “chefs” have no idea how to cook a steak. I know for a fact I will cook a better steak. Come on guys, you know better. And your Demi-glace was store bought with a modification. Jezzzzz guys, again, be a chef, not a cook. But don’t rely on your sauce for flavor. The steak should be perfect by itself.
The jazz trio was awesome
Small and cozy Italian restaurant, low lighting makes it romantic. There was also live music being played. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection.
We made a reservation for Friday night and loved it so much we canceled our Saturday night reservation at another restaurant so we could go back there. We will eat there anytime we are back in town.
We made a reservation but when we walked in we stood there for quite a while and no one ever spoke to us so we finally just left and went somewhere else.
This place exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible, service was right on the mark, the atmosphere was just the right amount of cozy. We were a little worried when the jazz trio started playing, but they were very good and kept it at just the right volume for the small room. My wife raved about the seafood Alfredo, and I had one of the chef's features--can't remember the name but it was chicken breast topped with black olives, sausage, onion, and mushrooms. All very reasonably priced as well. Can't say enough about this place!
I wanted to come back just for the brushetta alone --insanely good
Service and food was outstanding!
Always delicious and great service! The lobster bisque is rich and delicious. My hubs always gets the cannelloni and thinks it’s the best ever. The pasta with pesto and pine nuts was excellent.
Nice little restaurant off the main street. Great, comfortable, cozy decor. The food was good, large portions.
Our server was very attentive. The food was pretty good. I ordered the halibut and it was a bit overcooked but the clams were awesome as an appetizer! We got a pretty good bottle of Cab from a Walla Walla winery for a reasonable price. I would go back!
Booked and received confirmation, then restaurant was not open when I arrived. No communication, just no place to eat with my party of 6 on a busy day after a 2+ hour drive. I had much sad face.
This was our first time at the Alley Cafe, but won't be our last. My wife and I have been looking for good date night places in the Wenatchee Valley and decided to give the Alley a try. Food was good, service was great and the live music was a fun surprise. If you are planning on coming to Leavenworth, its worth the stop.
Absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants! It's been the same owner for 25 years, EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY!
Excellent lasagna, almost as good as mine. Hubby had lemon drop cheesecake, he loved it. Front door a little hard to find; but well worth the search. Would definitely go back.
Delicious food, friendly staff, good ambience and dining experience
Italian dinning at its finest. Great service, the food was gourmet. Truly a hidden gem, tucked in the alley of this great city.
Great food with excellent service!
Great feel and the staff was very nice and helpful. The pricing seemed on par for the quality. Our family had a wonderful meal and fantastic time.
It smelled deliscious when we entered the dark, aged restaurant. service was slow and looked under-staffed. Two of us ordered the chicken with crab topping. It arrives in a congealed sauce with cold, hard mashed potatoes. One tasted and I had to spit it in my napkin. I tried to re-order another dish so the waiter sent the owner out. I was honest with him and he didn’t like it! In the end they did serve a another dish, the mushroom ravioli. It was edible, but again served with a thick gravy. Not the traditional Italian you would expect from a place that’s been in business as long as they have.
We were a party of eight, no issue with our server giving four couples separate checks! Service was prompt, food was very good, we would not hesitate to return!
