Our server was very attentive and the view was great. Good mid day break!!
I've always have a great experience here at the 43rd...Very Nice and Quite and awesome view...
Thank you for making this lunch special for my wife. We enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly. Such a clean restaurant. The view outside is incredible.
I was excited with the view and thought the food would be equivalent. It was not. I was very surprised.
The 3 clients were too. I would have to reconsider eating at your restaurant again unless the client demanded it.
Chef salad is so primitive! Just mix of turkey, bacon, cheese etc. you can buy from wallmart.
The luncheon was for an employee's 20th Service Anniversary. It was great company and food.
This is a great restaurant, with an awesome view of the city. The food and service are great.
I recommend the tortilla soup.
Very unique experience. Quiet and intimate for lunch. The 43rd's service and food is good. I was blown away by the risotto alfredo. The view is spectacular.
The 43rd has an elegant atmosphere with beautiful views. Their attentive staff and delicious food ensure a good result every time. Overall experience was superb and made our special occasion even more special. I have held several evening events and luncheon here and they never fail to exceed my expectations.
TERRIBLE! And we left. Open Table should not advertise this resturant to the general public. Trying to do something different for our 20th anniversary thought it be cool to try pretty views top 43rd floor. We get there 1pm and no one was there. I walked around the corner and found this guy. He asked "Can I help you" like we're lost. I said we have a reservation and he said "go pick a table" There were like 5 tables in total with 2 taken. The best view was the air vents and a wall. I shared that we booked for special occasion. He said "it don't matter".The rudeness continues, he ask "what do we want to drink. The one page menu did not have drinks listed & it was dirty. This guy seemed to be the host, waiter, & chef. On his way back with water. I told him we're leaving as we are celebrating today. He apologized and we enjoyed our lunch elsewhere! Maybe this place is only for people working in that building? Come on, you guys must know there are to many other options in Houston. Get it right!
Leo took such great care of us! Very kind and professional. We'll definitely be back again!
The 43rd Restaurant & Lounge is exactly that, perched on the 43rd floor of the Wedge tower. The building itself is highly accessible from all parts of downtown which is why it was chosen for a business lunch.
Pros: Spectacular view, competent food and drink
Cons: the decor looks a bit dated in the light of day and is a bit plain for the white linen dining experience.
My friends and I went for my birthday. The view, the waiter, the food, and the atmosphere were perfect. I didn't want to leave!! We will will certainly dine here again.
There are few restaurants in Houston with a view at this height of the city. The food is not bad, the service is very good, and the ambiance is good. Unfortunately they only serve on weekdays during lunch hours.
They have a patio that allows you to roam outside to get fresh air from the 43rd floor of the wedge tower.
Parking can be done at the parking lot right next to the wedge tower. They offer validated parking so you do not have to worry about it.
Overall I enjoyed this place and if I ever get a weekday off, I would not mind going here again.
Excellent ambience and location for an impressive client lunch or new business meeting.
Overall, the atmosphere was plesant and enjoyable -- good food and service.
Great location and view. Took an employee for an anniversary lunch and she was thoroughly impressed with my choice and surprised she had never known about this gem
lunch food was good we ordered the club sandwich and filet mignon both good I like how the restaurant makes a lot of its own food like sauces and chips. It's a classy place great view.
This was my first time dining at the 43rd and the view and the food was great. The gumbo is delicious as was the shrimp salad. We also got a semi-private table between the board room and main dinning area which was perfect for our group.
Been going to The 43rd for years; food's always been consistently great, and love the view!
Tihs restaurant is a perfect spot for a business lunch. Great views of downtown Houston and quiret enough for converstion without having to yell to be heard. Pricing is surprisingly reasonalbe witha good selection of meals that work for a business lunch.
Great place, went for a work new hire lunch, and we really enjoyed ourselves! Nice views too.
The view was a little less than I expected. The restaurant is sectioned off with the bar area being the best view. The dining section we had looked out at the bus stop and the 42nd floor where all the window washing equipment for the building is moored.
The food was very good! And the service was the highlight.
I would certainly recommend it but ask for a table in a different section than I had.
Went to lunch in a party of seven. Great food and was able to hear everyone at the table.
Ambiance was like being in a hotel room - boring and long-in-the tooth. Food was just OK. Very disappointing given higher prices.
My wife n I came here for an anniversary lunch, the view is great of the city. We had two glasses of Merlot which my wife really liked. The waiter gave us the chef 's special, which I believe was grilled salmon, mashed potatoes n asparagus. All very good n came out in timely manner. I read the reviews before going so I was nervous but this place is underrated, n needs more recognition. The only recommendation I would have is to adjust the hours to be open later and/or on the weekend, because I like to come and see tgr sunset from here while having a nice dinner sometimes. But besides that we loved it!
It's a shame that a restaurant at such a great location would be so inadequate. The decor hasn't been touched in 20 years and the waiter was just rude. The food was passable - nothing special.
Looks like I'll be asking my guests to drive to another location, rather than walking to this place, next time I schedule a business lunch with someone from this part of downtown.
Dined here twice with a a group of 7 and had the private table facing south. Very nice view and very quiet.
