Nice elegant atmosphere, excellent place for a quiet lunch with a friend
IIhhhhhhhhhhhh
standard business food for restaurant in hotel, definitely not recommended if looking for taste.
Service was very slow. Had to wait for drinks. Server was nice but seemed like she had way too many tables. Seemed like everyone was looking around when they needed drinks or something else. One entree was very undercooked and we had to send it back. Wasn’t offered dessert but by then dinner had taken too long so we just decided to leave and find dessert somewhere else. It was just disappointing for a $250 meal for 4 people.
This is really just a hotel bar with fine dining prices. The pictures on the website look nice but they hide the TV behind the hostess station. The menu is simple, nothing that would lead you to believe the Chef was more than 20 years old and the flavor of the food reminded me of fast food restaurants. The ribeye steak tasted like a Burger King hamburger and the potatoes were really hash browns with peppers and onion like you would get at the Waffle House. I will say that the steak was cooked to perfect temperature but again it lacked flavor. They had placemats which my wife said were from Target and the server left my sparkling wine glass sitting empty for nearly 10 minutes before I flagged him down.
It was a quiet evening when we were there, but food was cooked perfectly, cocktails were excellent and service was attentive.
James and Ashley are awesome bartenders! Great place for dinner and drinks!
Very good food, excellent drinks, quiet and beautiful atmosphere. Waiter was very attentive and helpful will definitely be coming back.
Food seemed to be left over from the brunch that had served earlier. They also did not offer any bread with the meal.
This was our second year in a row that we went for the Thanksgiving buffet. It did not disappoint!!!! Plan on going again next year!
Pleasantly surprised. The Thanksgiving buffet was pretty awesome. Initially there were lines but soon after all areas were easily accessible. The food was delicious and the service was great.
We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving buffet. They had some creative dishes- roasted, smoked and fried turkey. Anna and Wanda made this a most enjoyable meal.
I HAVE ENJOYED Second Floor Regionally Inspired Kitchen OVER THE YEARS, THOUGH YESTERDAY'S EXPERIENCE WAS LESS THAN STELLAR. THAT SAID IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD FOR ME TO WRITE A REVIEW.
Very good place to eat while out of town. Would recommend to family and friends in Dallas or anyone travelling there.
Great food, outstanding service!
We didn’t even stay. The menu has changed to an “All day” menu & the options aren’t great. The place was completely empty & the bartender was somewhat rude & gruff.
The restaurant is very nice and clean, but it just lacks any sort of ambiance. It is a very sterile sort of environment. The service was impeccable and I cannot compliment the staff too highly on how quickly they served us.
The food was okay. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I did not care for the Chorizo gravy and ended up mostly just eating the biscuits. I did order the apple smoked bacon and I can tell you that it is to die for. My sister ordered the continental breakfast which had a little bit of fruit, a couple of muffins, and some other small pastry. For the prices we paid, I think hers was about 15 and mine was about 10 to 15, it was okay. I would not want to eat dinner there and pay the dinner prices.
The food was delicious. I had 20 desserts. my son had 30. The tenderloin was perfect. Will definitely be back for mothers day!
Nice, bright space for a simple family Sunday brunch. Not crowded, quiet and wheel chair accessible. Food was approachable (not exotic), service a little slow but very friendly, .... A good place for a relaxing Sunday morning start.
Gave the place a 2nd chance after a bad experience a few months ago. We were the only people in the place and service was slow. Food was only decent and very over priced for what you got. Won't be back.
Horrible. Overpriced. And our waitress was unbelievably rude. Never again. So disappointed. No winder it was empty more less on a Sunday at brunch time.
Many visits to Second Floor. This one did not disappoint... Enjoyed prix fixer dinner for 2. Beef tenderloin excellent; sea scallops size of golf balls sauteed perfectly. Salads of kale & arugula outstanding.
I absolutely love their beet salad. Julie is the best.
Excellent place to actually enjoy a conversation with your dinner mates! We love the soft noise level and excellent healthy food options. My husband loves the variety of scotches and great bar tenders. Keep up the great work.
We went to eat Thanksgiving and had made reservations based on the online buffet menu. We got there and it was a prefix menu and was told buffet ended at 4pm. The website did not state that. So to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The prefix menu was mediocre at best and small portions. Do not think I'll give Second Floor and second chance.
Food was good, but there was no one in the place and still sat us in the corner at a 2 top instead of a comfortable both or larger table. Waiter was nowhere to be found at times. When asked if we could be moved because of a draft they only moved us over 1 table and it was another 2 top with the same draft.
Great place for a business meeting! Quiet and yummy!
The bartenders, especially James, were fabulous. I had a cozy spot at the drop down bar to read, do paperwork and drink my wine.
I did NOT like the vegetable soup at all. You need to have some type of gluten free bread as an option.
Great atmosphere and lighting. Thank certainly conevenient if you’re staying at the Westin. A tad pricy though.
Open Table does not make it clear that this restaurant is inside a hotel. The advertising is deceiving. It was good if you’re staying at the Westin but don’t drive over and park 8 blocks away to eat there.
The restaurant had no other diners on a Saturday night. The menu is very limited. The food was good and service very good. Friends had told us it was great and very vibrant but we didn't see either. It was a quiet dinner. One should be prepared as the website menu did not seem to be close to the menu and when we asked our server he had no idea. Also, the reservation had to be guaranteed with a credit card. When we again asked the server he said that the restaurant did not require that at all. Perhaps this was just an off evening for the restaurant.
Food was good and a nice menu selection. Service slow
Expertly prepared and graciously served food. You can be a part of a lively scene in the bar and front eating area or have a quiet, romantic, or even business meal in the dining room. Love this classy place! Steak with chimichurri sauce is the best in Dallas!
This was our 4th year for Easter Brunch. While I appreciate the fact that this year's menu was different than previous years, there was not a lot of variety or options. Menu selections seemed limited. The food is always good (or else we wouldn't keep coming back), however this year just seemed to be on a smaller scale and not as imaginative.
Food was delivered to the wrong people at the table. Also, when the food was delivered, the servers had their hands full and seemed to be expecting the diners to make room by removing the dirty dishes.
Also, wine pairing was ordered, but the wine for the first course was not delivered until asked for. Another waiter was very kind and brought the wine.
I get the idea that this restaurant is one of those where the "celebrity chef" thinks his stuff is so good that the service doesn't matter. Well, the restaurant business in Dallas is much too competitive for that.
I went with a group of friends to this restaurant for a New Years' Eve dinner and celebration. We were a group of seven people and definitely the largest and loudest party there. It's a small restaurant, very cozy and intimate, so maybe isn't a good option for most larger groups, but we had an enjoyable experience.
The food was good and had healthy options, which was important to our group (one of us eats AIP, two of us eat HFLC, another has a dairy intolerance). We all were able to order from the menu with only minor modifications in order to fit our dietary restrictions. However, I will say, there is not an extensive menu for modifications if you have a more obscure allergy (like nightshades, I wanted a side to accompany my main salad and was unable to find another side that fit AIP).
I was a little concerned about the atmosphere with this restaurant being at the Galleria, but it is very much removed from the hustle and bustle of the mall. The restaurant is located in the Westin hotel, which has a separate entrance than the main mall entrance. It also is upstairs, removing it even further. We did not feel tacky spending NYE dinner at a "mall restaurant," it definitely held up the prestige of a nice hotel's restaurant ambiance.
Further, our service was just outstanding. Our waiter was patient with us as the group trickled in at different times, he attended to all of our dietary restrictions, and even devotedly took group photos for us outside the restaurant once we were done eating.
The price point is definitely reasonable considering the atmosphere, service, and great menu. Even with a cocktail, my meal was less than $35.
The food was excellent as always. A few missed steps with the meal, but overall another great experience! The holiday cocktails were superb and each course was very well flavored.
Food was a limited menu but was so very wonderful and the service was excellent!
As always a great meal. Handled a party of 8 quite well. This time it was with friends for Christmas. Had no concerns about setting up this party at the Second Floor.
We went there for their Thanksgiving day buffet. Everything we tried was delicious, hot and there was plenty of it!! The sweet potatoes and dessert were definitely my favorite! Although the cornbread stuffing was in the running. The service was fantastic, the complimentary mimosa was a nice unexpected touch.
The service was fine, although not great (e.g. we had to keep refilling our own wine glasses, and little things like that). Also, the restaurant kind of seemed like, in its conception, it was much better, but things have kind of dwindled. There weren't many people there and it had that kind air of being somewhat forgotten. The food WAS good, although I think the menu was not as forward thinking at it claimed to be on its website.
