This was our 4th year for Easter Brunch. While I appreciate the fact that this year's menu was different than previous years, there was not a lot of variety or options. Menu selections seemed limited. The food is always good (or else we wouldn't keep coming back), however this year just seemed to be on a smaller scale and not as imaginative.
Food was delivered to the wrong people at the table. Also, when the food was delivered, the servers had their hands full and seemed to be expecting the diners to make room by removing the dirty dishes.
Also, wine pairing was ordered, but the wine for the first course was not delivered until asked for. Another waiter was very kind and brought the wine.
I get the idea that this restaurant is one of those where the "celebrity chef" thinks his stuff is so good that the service doesn't matter. Well, the restaurant business in Dallas is much too competitive for that.
I went with a group of friends to this restaurant for a New Years' Eve dinner and celebration. We were a group of seven people and definitely the largest and loudest party there. It's a small restaurant, very cozy and intimate, so maybe isn't a good option for most larger groups, but we had an enjoyable experience.
The food was good and had healthy options, which was important to our group (one of us eats AIP, two of us eat HFLC, another has a dairy intolerance). We all were able to order from the menu with only minor modifications in order to fit our dietary restrictions. However, I will say, there is not an extensive menu for modifications if you have a more obscure allergy (like nightshades, I wanted a side to accompany my main salad and was unable to find another side that fit AIP).
I was a little concerned about the atmosphere with this restaurant being at the Galleria, but it is very much removed from the hustle and bustle of the mall. The restaurant is located in the Westin hotel, which has a separate entrance than the main mall entrance. It also is upstairs, removing it even further. We did not feel tacky spending NYE dinner at a "mall restaurant," it definitely held up the prestige of a nice hotel's restaurant ambiance.
Further, our service was just outstanding. Our waiter was patient with us as the group trickled in at different times, he attended to all of our dietary restrictions, and even devotedly took group photos for us outside the restaurant once we were done eating.
The price point is definitely reasonable considering the atmosphere, service, and great menu. Even with a cocktail, my meal was less than $35.
The food was excellent as always. A few missed steps with the meal, but overall another great experience! The holiday cocktails were superb and each course was very well flavored.

As always a great meal. Handled a party of 8 quite well. This time it was with friends for Christmas. Had no concerns about setting up this party at the Second Floor.
We went there for their Thanksgiving day buffet. Everything we tried was delicious, hot and there was plenty of it!! The sweet potatoes and dessert were definitely my favorite! Although the cornbread stuffing was in the running. The service was fantastic, the complimentary mimosa was a nice unexpected touch.
The service was fine, although not great (e.g. we had to keep refilling our own wine glasses, and little things like that). Also, the restaurant kind of seemed like, in its conception, it was much better, but things have kind of dwindled. There weren't many people there and it had that kind air of being somewhat forgotten. The food WAS good, although I think the menu was not as forward thinking at it claimed to be on its website.
The bartender/waitress was nice but seemed overworked.
The food was good but this is in a hotel and that was not clear when setting the reservation.
The price was $15 for two pieces of French toast with berries. And $18 for chicken strips and waffles in a sauce.

Very slow service on a Sunday brunch, with few tables occupied. Food was forgettable. The steak with chimichurri was OK, the breakfast salmon tacos had beautiful presentation but the tortillas were too small, so everything just fell from it. The waitress didn't come to get my credit card, so after a while I paid in cash and left. Not to return.
Alexis our server was amazing. Always on top of refilling our coffee and water and replacing our plates for the next course. The food and desserts were to die for. The desserts were the highlight of the day, and the salmon was just perfect.
Food was barely warm to just flat out cold. Very surprised and disappointed considering the price.
2nd Floor is the best kept secret in North Dallas. Great food, an exceptional location and friendly courteous staff. Always choose 2nd Floor for important business meals.
I was a little disappointed in the service on this visit, it's usually much better. It was fairly busy so I will let this slide. My biggest disappointment was the lack of quality in some of the food, especially the pastries. I've dined here several times including special event buffets and I was surprised about the inconsistency in the quality of the food.
We had the Easter brunch today. Have to say it was underwhelming. Dry, bland chicken, cold mac and cheese, nothing to really make note of. We got there and it wasn't busy, around 1:15. You'd think with a buffet the refills on drinks and plate clearing would have been better but we had empty glasses and dirty plates sitting on the table. On top of that, the 18% service charge seemed way out of place. Based on service alone, I wouldn't have left 10%. Three people came to $220!! Most definitely not worth it. Very disappointed........
The Easter brunch was well put together. The food was delicious and the egg hunt was fun for the kids. Unfortunately our waiter was just terrible. He did not greet us when we sat. He finally came over and muttered "you want something besides water." He never refilled our drinks the entirety of our lunch. He ruined the lunch with his poor attitude and poor service.
My family of 5 attended for Easter brunch. While we had a good table overall, the wait staff today was a bit slow overall and the restaurant was never full (1130a reservation time). The buffet was ok but the cold food did not seem cold enough and the food did not have a lot of flavor. While other reviews were high, I assume that the normal non-special occasion entrees are much better than our experience. At the price we were charged for 3 adults and 18% gratuity on 5 people, we don't feel we got the value we expected versus other restaurants we have attended previously. As mentioned, we MAY try this restaurant again for a date night but would not attend for a special occasion. Thank you.
My husband and I were staying in the Westin hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We decided to dine at the 2nd Floor since it was convenient. Our reservation noted that it was our anniversary. We arrived to the front and were escorted to our table. After placing our orders, our drinks and appetizers came within a decent amount of time. Our entrees took much longer to arrive. The waitress assured us they would be out soon. After waiting at least 20 more minutes, our entrees brought to our table. My food was room temperature. My husband thought his food was mediocre, at best. Neither one of us ate our food. We addressed the issue with the waitress and she took 30% off of our bill. The manager did not stop by our table to even try to resolve the problem. Neither the waitress or manager acknowledged our anniversary, despite the waitress stating that she saw it on our reservation.
Exceptional whisky selection and bartender John knows his stuff.
Very good hotel dining. Large portions. Clean with good service.
We had excellent service and food, but were sad to hear that Scott Gottlich was no longer the chef
This is a favorite "go to" place when you want a nice meal in a quiet setting with great service. We were there for V-day and thought the meal pricing was extremely fair.
Everything is easy about this place--valet parking (can be busy at times since it is the Westin), friendly front desk staff, quiet and intimate lighting/seating (if you're in the back room), great wait staff and good food.
We enjoy experiencing The 2nd Floor.
Always impressed with the food at the 2nd Floor. the Chef has extraordinary talent in creating flavors and presenting dishes. The craft cocktails are also very good and creative. I've never been impressed with the wine list, mostly wines seen on almost every menu. This is the reason for exploring the cocktails which always impress.
Last minute decision that paid off. Food and service were great. The food came out fast and hot.

Small but nice place to grab a bite if you're not really hungry and just need a drink. Maybe not the best place for Christmas brunch. Service was VERY slow, it took over an hour for our food to come out. Waiter was not attentive to us nor any of the other staff. Food was not good at all. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was priced at $25, it was very bland and more like an appetizer than a lunch portion for that price. A few other people in my party ordered the burgers, sandwiches and or the seared salmon and weren't happy with their food either but just ate because of the occasion. We will definitely not return here nor recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling through town like we were and needing a place to have brunch/lunch with the family. This place is more for people who may be staying at the Westin galleria and ONLY need a drink.
The salmon was cooked perfectly as usual. Vegetables were interesting and delicious. Vegetable soup was the only downer. Boring and not cooked.
I brought my son and daughter in law who were visiting to their Thanksgiving buffet and it was absolutely horrible! For $75 per person we thought it was going to be amazing. They should be ashamed of what they served and what they charged!
It was very acomadating and they are willing to work with the handicapped with seating and the chairs were comfortable( didt have arms to restrict you) and the food was seasoned very nicely
Wife, daughter, son-in-law, and I attended the Thanksgiving Buffet. Variety was very limited, only two meats (turkey and beef wellington), and both were never available at the same time. We are used to attending buffet at Hyatt Regency in Richardson, which always has more and better choices.
Why this restaurant offered a buffet is a mystery to me. They didn't really have room to properly do so. Service was in the vestibule outside the restaurant proper with hotel patrons passing through at will. However, I was glad they did as the Hyatt did not offer one this year; just wish they had done a better job.
Overall it was standard for a holiday meal, usually not a restaurant's best performance. The food was dry and the desserts were substandard. Service was poor considering it was a self serve buffet. Atmosphere was very nice
Wow! To have a seasoned waitstaff is the best. (Thank you, Tim, for being at the Westin for nearly 3 decades!)
Our food was delicious and creatively prepared/presented. The whiskey list was ample and the wine list was thoughtfully chosen.
In four days, we found ourselves here 6 times.
It was close to the hotel and well rated so we popped in for dinner. We started with drinks while we looked at the menu. The menu was different than what Open Table referenced. It is an eclectic selection to be polite. We didn't find anything interesting we wanted to try and went downstairs to Oceanaire instead.
Our waiter was AMAZING. The manager even stop by twice to check on us. If you go, please get the crabcake and tenderloin. I will definitely be back. And the Dallas Parkway Cocktail was tasty.
The value was awesome for the amount of food we received. I was very cold in the restaurant and wish the temperature was average but the food was good and the service was great.
Great place to meet before heading out shopping or to grab a bite after shopping at the Galleria. Good food. We had breakfast and the menu options were great and not too pricey. Also good for business breakfast or lunch or for conversation.

I ordered a Summer Chopped salad as it was vegetarian and full of veggies. The manager came over shortly after I placed my order and said they had to change out the lettuce and would that be ok? It would be lettuce wedge instead of other greens. I asked if the only thing changing was the greens and he said yes, so I agreed.
I got my salad and it was now a wedge salad... with ranch and walnuts. Noo veggies aside from some caramelized onions. I wasn't happy but didn't want to complain. Then I took a bite and realized there was bacon mixed in with the onions.
As a vegetarian that follows the practice for religious and allergy reasons, this was not ok. They took the salad away and said they're so sorry but the salad I had originally also ordered had bacon in it. I confirmed on the menu that it did not. I wouldn't go here again if I was paid to.
Our server then said when he brought the check, "we went ahead and took the salad off the bill." Umm, yeah no kidding, I didn't eat it because it wasn't at all what I ordered!
This was no better than a typical hotel restaurant. I wasn't aware when I made the booking that it was inside the Westin. Had I known that, I wouldn't have booked it and could have been spared the poor service.
From the moment we walked in the restaurant, we were by staffs. Our waiter John was also very helpful. Awesome food and service.
Dined with a group of 9 in the private room Prive...outstanding developed personal menu for a 10 course meal. Staff was excellent! Food was amazing and pair with perfect drink choices for the guests and the meal course. Would Definitely Recommend!
