The 220 Café
The 220 Café provides a fine dining experience and atmosphere for all of our guests. With a combination of class and elegance, the 220 Café also exudes a “stop by anytime” welcome to the restaurant.
I love the restaurant and I love using Open Table.
Apps good entrees very good fries soggy
Food was excellent as was service. Always enjoy our dining experience at Cafe 220.
We went out for Mother’s Day. We were a large party of 9. The staff wasn’t very welcoming. I don’t know if this was bc they were busy or what. The food was pretty good but our daughter ordered blueberry pancakes with bacon for $11. She received 1 pancake and 2 slices of bacon. The pancake was small and crunchy. That was the only disappointment.
We will be back, but maybe with less people this time. We’ve eaten here before, several times and the food is always delicious and the service is great.
Nice selection of a variety of foods from seafood to pasta to Thai salad. A quirky, eclectic atmosphere.
Inattentive wait staff
The food was bland and the cream sauce for the seafood pasta wasn't creamy at all it was disgusting
We really enjoyed our lunch at the 220 Cafe - food and service were fantastic. Recommended in Statesville for a local treat!
Our meal was fantastic. Troutman has a hidden gem!!! We will definitely be back.
The food was delicious. Grace, our server, was charming and knowledgable. the courses were well paced. we were very satisfied.
Waitress was very rude and acted annoyed when I told her I asked for a salad as my side instead of fries. She about hit me with the plate picking it up, didn’t say a word and slammed my plate back down when she returned. Food was good.
Excellent food and service! The live music on Feb 15 was really wonderful, but too loud.we were yelling at each at the table.
Great for Valentine's day lunch
Reasonable prices, good menu variety, decent craft beer and premium wine selection, and all-around fun, funky local place. Definitely recommended.
Expect it to be a bit noisy with a girl singing with a guitar. Food was good but a bit pricy. Service was excellent! Nice to find a gem of a restaurant in Statesville since we just met friends there and don’t really know the city.
Was pleasantly surprised. Lots of options on the menu.
Great location in downtown Statesville. Wonderful food selection and service.
First time going to Cafe 220 this past Friday and had a great experience!! Food was delicious, service was excellent and the live music this particular evening was a very talented young lady with an amazing voice. Only complaint was the volume of the music made it a little tough to have conversations but I'm guessing it's mostly because of the high ceilings. That said, we still enjoyed our time at this restaurant much more than the normal brand name restaurants you find in most cities or towns. We'll definitely be back again soon for more of the homemade tiramisu!! Thanks for a great evening!!
Went for New Years Eve dinner. Great choices for the price.
Glad we chose to come here and stay in town.
Food was good. Tried the risotto for the first time and enjoyed it. Coffee was a bit too strong for me, though the flavor was great. Loved the live music.....the Kincaids. Waitress was fun and personable. A very pleasant evening.
Very pleased with food and service...always topnotch. Thanks to staff and owner for an excellent dining experience.
By far best restaurant in Statesville. Lunch was good, although it took some time to get out it out the kitchen. Patty melt was cooked perfectly. Limited wine list but found something I haven’t had and it was good. Service slow, but overall a nice place.
The server was friendly and terrific. The salads were very good. Things after that were mediocre. My crab cakes were nearly burnt and I thought about sending them back, and decided to just eat the insides. The steak was smothered in blue cheese and there was a mountain of fat. The duck was not great.
The restaurant was oddly dark, and I understood that was part of the ambiance however when I looked up I saw several burnt out lightbulbs.
We visited from out of town and found the Cafe 220 to be the perfect spot for excellent food and quiet atmosphere for a conversation over dinner. Salads were a mixed green delight served on chilled plates. Entrees were served hot and with an appealing presentation. All in our party enjoyed dining here.
Decided to try Cafe 220 based on positive reviews. We had a terrific lunch. Nice, varied menu - it was tough to choose. Can recommend the spinach and artichoke dip, prime rib sandwich, blue cheese slaw and sweet potato fries. It is a 30 minute drive for us. We will definitely be back.
Love this quaint little restaurant. It was a lovely surprise. Food was delicious and staff was attentive and friendly. Would love to go again. Definitely try the stuffed portobello mushrooms!
The server we had was fantastic. She was very busy but was attentive. I was disappointed in the Asian salmon as I could not taste any of the flavorings. When I asked if its was the correct entree she quickly offered a sauce to add to the flavor. It was awesome and made the meal. Kudos to her to quickly react or my rating would have been lower.
Nice night out with live music. Food was delicious and some different menu items that were very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient.
Very good service and very good food
My husband and I travel 40 minutes about 3 times a year to eat here. Always loved the ambiance. Very disappointed tonight. Was more like bar atmosphere than a special date night. Food was great though.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. We ordered shrimp and grits and ribs. Both were fabulous. Great cocktails! We drove from out of town and will be back!
The service was very good; friendly and helpful. Ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Food was good, but not great. We opted for four small plates, rather than an entree. The tuna was over cooked and some pieces were “fishy”; the wasabi was extremely dry. The steak didn’t have much flavor; were those pickled beets? The scallops could have been seared longer; they were a little chewy. Wine selection by the glass wasn’t great; I tried three, “settled” on one. I would go back, but wouldn’t make a point of making it another date night, especially coming from Charlotte. Good little restaurant for Statesville though.
Service was a bit slow but overall a good experience.
Fist time dining at 220 Cafe. Had read the outstanding reviews posted on OT. The food and service was fantastic . Had the salmon/scallops/shrimp trio which was the “catch of the day”. All three seafoods were prepared excellent. Will definitely dine at 220 again.
I added my email address to their mailing list for updates and special events.
Lively atmosphere. Excellent meal. Shared 3 appetizers- Portobello & sausage, scallops & steak with beets. Took a bit of time to receive our order, but they were quite busy AND to our server's credit, when the steak came out of the kitchen overdone, she asked kitchen to prepare a new order. Scallops tender. Great flavors. All served nice & hot.
I agree with a previous review, that live music /vocalist great, but acoustic vs amplified would have so much better suited the space, the dinner hour & ability to have conversation. If I pass through Statesville again, would definitely return.
Food is always great! I love it that they switch up their menu from time to time.
I can't say it was an unexpected surprise because the reviews I read were already good. But I typically would not have expected such a wonderful locally owned, locally sourced, creative and healthier cuisine in a relatively small town. The walls are filled with art from local unknown artists and the wait staff was pleasant. We would have eaten there again on our way back down to Charlotte if our plans hadn't changed. Highly recommend.
Really great evening to eat outside. Had the fish special but was only good and not the typical amazingly delicious. Always great service.
Went there for lunch, enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner.
Had a nice dinner. Live music was a little loud for the space. The woman singing was great but probably could’ve played without amplification and it would’ve been fine.
