The 10th Ratings and Reviews
Far and away the best dining on mountain, not that much more expensive than the frankly generally pretty poor alternatives (Wildwood is good, Two Elk and Mid Vail pretty poor) and delicious and comfortable (how can you not like being able to swap your ski boots for slippers). Worth doing at least once on your ski vacation, even though it takes a bit longer.
The view at the 10th is stunning, at a minimum and the service is exceptional. For the price, the food was disappointing. The flavors of our salad, soup and entrees were good, just not at the level of taste that you would expect at this level of a restaurant. Definitely come for the view and the service, and keep the expectations of the food at average and you will not be disappointed.
Our favorite "splurge" ski lunch spot on the mountain in Vail. Pampering you from the start with slippers after you take off your ski boots, it only gets better with the delicious food choices. We love the mussels with chorizo, the amazing chicken pot pie and the yummy warm bread fresh from the oven. It's pricey, and the service can be slow at busy times, but that's pretty common in Vail. The views of the mountain are spectacular, the only drawback is the big open cafeteria size dining room that loses a bit of intimacy, but does make for fun people watching. Reservations are a must during busy times, but if you forget, check out the bar...often you can grab a last minute spot. The worst part is having to put your boots back on to ski home!
The 10th is one of my favorite place in Vail.
I love to end my ski day with a late lunch at the 10th.
I was surprised is no longer open for dinner, it was beautiful come up at night on the Gondola and see Vail from the top of the mountain.
It was a kind of magic.
This is the perfect place if you want a beautiful setting with a great ambience. The service is top notch and the food is excellent too. We were celebrating my mom's (she doesn't ski) birthday and she was able to get there from the gondola with no problem. The restaurant went out of their way to make sure our experience was special. They also have a nice bar area which would be perfect for a stop after you're done skiing or between runs!
This restaurant is a wonderful option for lunch on Vail Mountain. The views are spectacular and the food delicious. I have only eaten here in the summer but would imagine it is a great place to have lunch during ski season as well. The food is delicious and the menu offers something for most! Always enjoy it here!
Our waiter Ben was great. Disappointed that we made a reservation and they had no front patio dining open...most people did not make reservations and got better seating... so we sat out back.....food was a bit pricey...and 2 of us had upset stomachs after eating the onion/mushroom soup...although it was very tasty
This would have been a five star experience, except for two things that torpedoed an otherwise outstanding time. Most egregious was discovering the outrageous cost to get to the restaurant via the gondola. We were 6 seniors and an adult with reservations for lunch. Even with our senior discount it was over $30 each for a round trip to the restaurant and back. Since there is a penalty for cancellations under two hours we were boxed in.
The other issue, while much less irritating, was the service. Pleasant enough, beverage and food delivery timely, closing out our bill was tedious. We announced at the beginning couples and our single adult would be paying separately, it took multiple (over 3) times to get the bills straight.
Otherwise, the experience was great. Everyone raved about their courses. Seated at a round table next to the windows provided for pleasant conversation and gorgeous views.
Unless there is a pricing change to the gondola for those just dining at the 10th, it will be removed from our list to show to our guest visiting us In the mountains. Believe your business will be negatively impacted by gondola pricing.
Mountain top setting with fabulous views. A special lift ticket on the Vail gondola offers a scenic ride plus a discount voucher for a meal. The extra cost for access is worth it for the excellent food in this special setting. They don't serve all the time so a reservation is needed.
We came up for lunch with our daughter and fiancé. Everyone at the table had the Burger. They enjoyed it, but , no one could get over the 27.00 cost!
I had a ( very small!) bowl of the Worst French onion soup I've ever had ! It was basically a bowl of broth and croutons. There was no trace of cheese. Again overpriced. Not impressed!
Oh, and we are long time , full time residents. We wanted to show our future son in law the cool ,on mountain resturant.
Love coming here. Just putting on the slippers and relaxing at lunch truly makes you enjoy your day. Pimped out bathrooms to refresh yourself is an added perk. The pot pie is HUGE (best to share), awesome truffle fries and love the pear and gorgonzola salad.
This is our third time at The 10th, we love it and the spectacular view while dining. We take time out from skiing to stop in for a "treat": the dining room is lovely, the slippers - heavenly (compared to ski boots!) and the food is consistent, interesting and delicious. Our server was excellent. We look forward to returning.
This restaurant sits in the middle of Vail mountain and the views are outstanding. It is a welcoming reprieve after a morning of skiing. I had a nice glass of wine and the Gore salad and was very happy. My daughter had the hot chocolate and it was extra delicious.
We have been to The 10th a few times and we consider it a treat. It is so nice to be able to shed the ski boots and put on cozy slippers. The food is a fun mix and the wine list is something else. Our server was anxious to finish for the day and wasn't all that attentive but we were satisfied with our experience. The homemade coconut ice cream was unbelievably good - I've never had better!
