Was a bit hesitant after reading some yelp reviews but wanted a place that takes reservations the night before Mother’s Day. We might have been lucky. Food was great and service was better than what we’ve got at other places lately. Could be they were not super busy that night. But definitely had the best experience in years that night.
We visited That's Amore for Easter Brunch and were extremely impressed by the food selection and quality.
Went for dinner last week and there is a new chef and small plates are added to the menu. Roasted brussels sprouts were great.
Had a dinner with colleagues from work at That's Amore. Had not been there for some time. The service was outstanding, very welcoming. Appetizers were delicious, the entrees large for sharing and wonderful. We also had the dessert sampler! Yum! It was a very enjoyable meal and family style was perfect!
The food was very good..... but we asked our server for separate checks and he basically refused. I don’t know if this is a general policy of the restaurant but I dine out quite a lot and all the other restaurants are more than happy to do separate checks. All in all the food and service was good but we will think twice about attending as a group again because of this.
Very nice dinner. Improved since the last time we visited, about three or four years ago. Great for a large, 8 people, group. We were able to hear each other. A plus is the family style dishes. We use family style for appetizers and salad.
Back on our go to family dinner restaurant list.
Great job That's Amore!
Had reservations at 5pm on a Saturday evening. We were immediately seated and glad we were as it got very crowded very quick. Food & service was excellent.
Food was fine. Busy night for Valentine's as expected. Poor Jorge our server was so overwhelmed. Seemed like it was his first night working as wait staff. Dinner took 45 mins longer than it should have just waiting on him and reminding him of requests. My wife, being a server in NYC while she was in school has very low tolerance for poor service. She put on her coat as a hint for the check after a 20 min wait for it and asking twice. Once again, great food (grilled calamari is still a favorite), but young Jorge needs lessons in customer service.
Valentine’s Day is not the time to go as it was chaotic
We were offered food that was not ours several times, the manhatin was returned, the lasagna was not warm, the coffee was cool
When the food did arrive it was not all presented at the same time
I like this place and it should be the place to go on a special day but it was a real disappointment
The food was really good but we waited about an hour. He put another tables order I. For our table and we had to wait extra long. The service was bad. Waiter acted as if he didn’t have time to take our orders and was rushing us. All the tables he was serving had the same reaction and feelings. I know ow this because we talked to each other. Took 2 trips to get our drink order in.
Valentine day experience was great .
Early Valentine’s Day
Great server, amazing food, warm ambiance
It was a decent restaurant without a long wait for a last-minute decision to eat out. We've been here a few times and have been satisfied with the food each time.
Our sever gentlemen was GREAT. He did a fantastic job, even with their system being down.
Terrible. Unclean bathroom. Dysfunctional staff. Chicken tough and grizzly. Felt unwelcome.
It was a wonderful meal for the whole family and it was a great way to celebrate a birthday!
Didn’t realize my 13 year would be charged as an adult for thanksgiving buffet. My fault for not asking, their fault for not saying anything.
It’s always a great experience and pleasure when I dine here. No complaints here! Brings back so many memories as this is where I dine at eleven years ago for my wedding reception with family and friends. Our waiter Ali was great.
Thanks for being That’s Amore!
We have dined there at least 15 times over the years. The food is not spectacular, but still very good. This time there were a few issues: 1. There were entries and deserts that they were out of...weird. 2. There was a huge party with lots of loud children not far from our table. If we had known, we would have asked to be seated further away from the loudness. 3. Our server was nice, accommodating, but she didn't appear to be well-trained. She did a few things we would not expect -- reaching across people to pour drinks, making cappuccino and serving it cold and when told, made no effort to offer a hot drink or take it off the bill. We are going to copy this to the restaurant.
Had a good experience 2 weeks ago, but after this one I doubt I'd ever go back!
Best food around!!! Can’t understand why this restaurant does it have a line out the door. Owner has sooo much class!!!
I was disappointed in the service. Our waitor seemed surely. My grandson is a vegan and clearly asked for pasta with marinara sauce, no meat. When his pasta arrived with a big meatball on top, the waiter resisted the idea that the mistake should be corrected. He also did not check to see if we needed drink refills and brought us the check without finding out if we wanted dessert. Food was good.
Service and food quality have really gone down hill since last visit. I have been going here for many years and it’s always been either hit or miss.
Good food, rightly done; my colleague also likes it, we will visit again!!
Good authentic Italian cooking. I always order pasta, but they also have veal, chicken, and salad options. Good service. Clean and relatively quiet atmosphere. Mid-priced. Portions are large so you’ll always need a “doggie bag”
The place was empty and it must have 200 seats. Good was very ordinary big dishes.
The restaurant was very empty for a Friday night. One of the meals we ordered was very salty.
Very nice place with excellent service.will definitely go back again
The service was good as was the food. Nothing exceptional but good.
Went for a graduation celebration. Server gave good recommendations.
The occasion was Mother's Day. Receptionist was nice, and the reservation for 4:30pm met. The waiter did well, bringing us a request of butter for the complementary fresh bread. The dinner was eggplant parmigiana for myself, and fettuccine Alfredo for my wife. The eggplant in my opinion, should have had some crispiness. The Alfredo was a bit on the butter side, rather than creamy. The dinner was tasty. The restaurant was peopled, but didn't feel crowded. It wasn't noisy. All in all, we had a pleasant time.
Delicious selection of food, you can tell everything is homemade. I got the pasta primavera then subbed the creamy tomato sauce for marinara to make it vegan- the marina is excellent. They bring a fresh, warm sun-dried tomato focaccia to start. The family portions are huge and a great value. My family started with the house salad which was full of fresh, flavorful vegetables. I would definitely go again. They are also very accomodating to dietary preferences since everything is made fresh.
It was Mother’s Day so there were lots of happy and talkative families, mine included. The buffet was really good but missing my favorite (chicken parmigiana). My only real complaint was my table. It seemed to be smack in the middle of the traffic flowing to the buffet area. Great time though...the moms loved it!
I made a reservation on OpenTable and the rest of the party arrived before I did. The hostesses both could not remember or figure out where they had seated the rest of my party (and since the rest of the party was at the brunch buffet, it wasn't clear where they were sitting). I had to go around the restaurant looking for their table. It was ridiculous that the hostesses couldn't figure out where they sat my party when it wasn't even that busy.
The table that we were sat at was right in the middle of the dining room. Every time someone tried to be seated at a surrounding table, we had to move our chairs. I actually had to get up from my seat and move the chair across the room to let someone pass by me that was using a walker. The restaurant is not easily handicap accessible in that regard. I had to move many other times because there are too many tables squished into the dining room and not enough space to move around. Since we were seating in a walking area, everyone had to uncomfortably squeeze by our table.
At the brunch buffet, the man making waffles actually picked the waffle off of the iron with his hands instead of using a utensil.
The service was ok. We had to ask for more beverages. The food was less than desirable. My mom got sick when she got home from the food (on MOTHER'S DAY, mind you).
I will never, ever go back to this restaurant. I recommend it to NO ONE.
I really like That's Amore. I love their chicken Marsala; it is outstanding. I have been going to this restaurant for years and I just discover the chicken Marsala! I can have this meal for 2 or 3 meals. I love their bread and staff. You can't go wrong with the meals. Everyone who I have been with me feel the same.
The management worked with us to arrange a birthday party . Everything was done as expected, the food came on time, and the staff helped us with the birthday cake. All dishes were the traditional Italo-American cuisine that That's Amore is known for. We had a great time!
It was my first dining experience here at the suggestion of a friend, and was every bit as they said! I had the spaghetti bolognese with an appetizer of their mussels in white sauce. It was my first time trying mussels, and I was surprised when they brought out a large bowl filled with them! It was well worth the $8 and very delicious! The basil and garlic complimented them very well!
Their portions are generous and the service was exceptional. It was cheaper for two than Coastal Flats or even Ted’s Montana Grill in the Downtown Crown, and that’s with even more food on your plate! This will be my go-to for quick bites or when I’m very hungry
