Friendly, knowledgeable servers. Quick service. Wonderful brunch which includes mimosa or Bloody Mary. Came with blueberry muffin. Out in plenty of time for 2:30 tickets pickup! Many good choices. I had ranchero hueveris. Delish!

My friend and I went there for dinner before a show near by. The food and drinks themselves were very good. The service was good as well and was prompt so that we got out of there in time.

Excellent service, we had the Brunch menu for Pre-Theatre. They were sensitive to our needs and curtain time. Great location. Would definitely go back.

My visit to Thalia was both my first and last. The music from speakers was overly loud, and complaints to the manager went unheeded. The table we were directed to had a peeling surface. Although we told the waitress we had theater tickets, service was exceedingly slow. When the waitress was asked for dessert menus, we were given only one although three were at the table. When we left Thalia, I apologized to my two guests for my choice.

Food was good however my meal wasn't hot and never was the coffee. I have been to the restaurant before and didn't have this issue.

There is nothing good to say. Service was abysmal. Waiter quit after he took our drink order and just walked out. Management didn't even know he was gone. It was the worst run establishment I have seen in awhile. Good came eventually but was cold and literally thrown at us. Ugh. Awful

We waited 10 minutes for water, our server quit in the middle of his shift, so no one else came. When we asked for water the man who served it rolled his eyes. They served the meal with no salt and pepper and when we asked they slammed it down. There were also three other tables with issues. Then I️ waited 15 minutes for honey for my toast when they never told me they had no preserves. The honey was expired in June! Terrible service and we would never go back. We ran into the ladies at the table next to us after our show and they received our check instead of theirs. The best part was leaving and not paying.

The best thing about Thalia's is the convenient location to many theaters. The food is good. I was satisfied. However, service was very slow, clearly understaffed for the number of patrons they were trying to serve. The 'free' drink, made free by the entre order, was also free from alcohol! I swear my mimosa was made with flat stale champagne! There are better restaurants in town, show make earlier reservations or you also might end up at Thalia's.

Not only was the service horrible but they double charged us for the dinner! Now I can’t get anyone on the phone to fix the problem! We absolutely would never go back! There are too many other choices of fabulous places to dine in NYC!

Food was delicious! We were going to a show, and they made sure the food came out fast. The decor is lovely, with beautiful vintage posters and fabulous lighting. Avoid the seating out on the aisle, by the kitchen, since I was being brushed by people and the wait staff would jump out of the way of each other right against our table, so that was very distracting and a bit annoying. We should have asked to be moved, as there were other tables open. But overall a great place to eat!

We went there for brunch before our show. Brunch was delicious. Then after the show we went back for drinks and appetizers at the bar. Shawn the bartender was great. Really enjoyed talking to him. Miranda the hostess definitely is the mostest!!!
Sweet, beautiful girl that made you feel at home.

Perfect spot for truly delicious, healthy food before the theater. The music selection is upbeat without being too loud to hear your friends. The waitstaff could not be more attentive. I'm sure there are other good restaurants in the area, but this one is so reliably wonderful, we all always prefer to come here!

it was so loud hard to hear. It looked like a diner with a bar vs. a restaurant. Service was just ok if you can hear her. Specials were described as "amazing" everything was "amazing. The wine was just ok. Probably would not go back with so many better restaurants around.

Over the years, Thalia has always had pretty dreadful service and the food is mediocre. But it is convenient to the theater district. In this case, where we were meeting old and new friends, and seeing dear acquaintances, meeting new spouses, and seeing grown children, I chose Thalia, because it was convenient to those of us who lived here and those of us who were visiting NYC, some for a very special event celebrating cancer survivorship. Unfortunately, Thalia continues to disappoint - but has ratcheted up the "bad." The service, which started out lackluster, became dreadful, with the food runner literally screaming over the table and (may as well have been) flinging large plates at unsuspecting diners. "SALAD" - bam. "SALMON" - bam. We called over the host and complained. The manager came over later and said she "wanted to understand" what was wrong. The awkward space, the loud and uninspired music ("energetic" above was the closest descriptor to 'loud' and 'obnoxious') were almost as lame as the food and almost as disturbing as the really pretty horrific service. From someone who never writes reviews, never looks at YELP, etc., you can imagine that I was pretty profoundly disappointed in the whole mess -- in order write this many characters! Thalia - it's been many decades of disappointment -- and so, fare-ye-well.

Thalia's is wonderful - I come here several times a year, usually as a meeting spot for friends who are in town. I love their Sunday brunch. This past visit was marred only by an odd moment with the waitress - she charged me twice for the coffee. When I brought it to her attention, she said I had had several refills and they only allow one refill of coffee before they charge the customer again. It was very odd. I don't remember ever having that experience there before.

The cups are about 4 ozs, so they're on the small side, I got three refills - which adds up to about two normal sized cups of coffee. One of the least expensive items to a restaurant is coffee for customers, and this is where they were drawing a line for more money. It was very odd - I was going to say something to the manager but my friend was visiting from out of town and I didn't want to ruin her experience so I let it go. But, it bothered me that I was charged $7 for coffee of all things.

I found Thalia to be a lovely scene, however they were WAY under staffed. We did the theater prix fixed meal (we had 8PM show tickets) and never got our dessert. This was not reflected on the bill so they had to redo the bill. When they redid the bill, they charged our cards incorrectly and we had to wait again for paperwork. By this time it was 7:55 and we were extremely anxious. They need more staff helping the one waiter in our section. It was not his fault, he was lovely, but the place was chaotic and we could feel it from the lack of service. We were clearly distressed as we were standing in our coats waiting to leave once we had our corrected checks, and never once did we see or hear from a manager, hostess, or anyone for that matter. What a shame.

We were a part of 10 and they could have cleaned up with us- however because we were not paid attention to, I only ordered one glass of wine (I typically have 2-3 when dining out) and no dessert because they ran out of time. We ordered soup to start.. I'm not sure why that was so hard to get to us on time.. anyways, lovely ambiance and great location- my advice would be to avoid on Wednesday nights.

Maybe it was an off night... it was our first time coming to Thalia. The menu looked intriguing so we tried it out. I very much appreciated the host's accommodation of us, as it turns out, I booked the reservation for the wrong night.

The setting is vibrant. High ceilings and an open layout complement an energetic crowd.

The service was a little haphazard. Our server was nice, but I think overextended as various orders arrived quite late (we had to ask several times for an order of French Fries, and other requests were overlooked, our glasses sat empty.)

I had hoped the food would be the redeeming quality. I ordered the Tuna Tartar entree. It came on top of quite flavorless noodles. The mashed potatoes were also quite bland (instant?). The burger - just OK. Sadly, not a keeper for us for the near future.

Sadly a bad experience. We had theater tix and the waiter did ask what time our show was. However 50 minutes after sitting down our food had not arrived. When I asked (after seeking our waiter for about 10 minutes) it took another 20 minutes to come. They did comp one glass of wine but hardly the point. ANd we were rushing to pay the bill and they brought back the credit slip with a pen that didnt work making me have to go tot he bar to get a pen so as not to be later to the show. The food was fine but nothing special.

My partner and I had heard from our dear friend (a foodie) that Thalia was great for brunches. I figured why not take a chance and see what the fuss is all about. The end feelings were 50/50.

The actual meals were good nothing spectacular. The side of truffle fries were horrendous. Soggy and lukewarm bordering on cold. It was pretty clear I had only taken a bite or two of the fries but our server never even noticed. I believe our server’s name was Robert and he was ok and nice. He did end up asking us how everything went with the meal but that was it. No refresh of our beverages and our empty plates were left on our table ten minutes too long than it should.

As someone who works at a high end, celebrity restaurant I had high expectations for Thalia. However, it fell short of my expectations. I really wanted to like this restaurant but difficult to when you felt ignored and under appreciated. Hard to believe because we were practically his only table aside from one other.

On the bright side I was at Thalia two weeks prior for just drinks with friends later in the evening and it was a great time at the lounge area. Hence why I tried Thalia again for brunch.

Maybe a dinner at Thalia will be in our future but I’ll let this meh experience settle first.
