About Thai Select
Thai Select seeks to thrill the New York epicure with Thai that's global, fresh and fun. Located in the midtown-west area of Manhattan, Thai Select offers healthy, modern Thai cuisine with worldly flare. Although the signature taste remains authentic Thai in flavor, the presentation might be a bit French in aesthetics, a bit Italian in portion and a bit Japanese in simplicity. With dishes like Kee Mao Fettuccini (made with whole wheat pasta) and Fruit Fried Rice (stir-fried with seasonal fruits), Thai Crabcake (encrusted to perfection) and Coconut Puff Martini (jumbo shrimp hand-battered in coconut strips), the kitchen selects only the very best dishes in Thai cuisine and only the freshest of ingredients picked from the farmer's market for our patrons; hence the name, Thai Select.

Thai Select Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good! I had a vegetarian duck in basil sauce, and ny husband had that with ginger sauce instead. Both were very tasty. I would have a hard time telling it is not a real duck. The atmosphere was ok, nothing fancy. There was loud latino music blasting from the kitchen, over the music that was playing in the restaurant, that took away from the mood.
Spent the night in NYC for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Wanted to do something different that we couldn’t get around home so we chose Thai. Picked this place due to the reviews and they didn’t disappoint. The food was unbelievable. Highly recommend. The decor was really cool as well.
Close to penn station/msg. Great food and fast , friendly service. Full bar with drink specials and room at the bar to eat. Great decor and the place Is very clean. Three of us had tasty apps and three Great meals. We ordered the apps and while we were having them, we ordered dinner, which came out just as we finished the apps. Definitely going back!
This is is basic Thai. We had duck rolls as an appetizer then Pad Thai with shrimp and garlic with chicken for the main courses.
The duck rolls were terrible. The outside of roll was too chewy, while the contents was very scant of duck. Both the main dishes were as expected, nothing special but certainly better than the appetizer. The service was pleasant and efficient.
They have Happy Hour until 7 which was a nice feature.
This is a satisfactory restaurant for a quick dinner near Penn Station and MSG.
My partner was playing opening night of an Off-Broadway show. He and I met a friend for a pre-theatre dinner. This was some of the best Thai food I have had, and they got the spice level just right, ingredients were fresh and perfectly prepared, and service was fast and attentive.
Picked Thai Select off the Web. Nice find. Unintentionally hit Happy Hour and was pleased to drink excellent Cosmos at $6 each. The assorted appetizer tray was filled with delicious options and more than enough for two. The pad thai was excellent and the shrimp cooked perfectly. It was also a large serving, enough to take home. The staff was attentive but not hovering. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience at a reasonable price.
Was a little concerned when the waitress told me that the vegetarian items were cooked in fish stock. I asked because I am veg. Manager assured me that wasn't the case. When my friend and I were finished with our meals--which were fine--they cleared away an unused knife and napkin from the table and put them back into the "clean" pile! I watched in horror. How did they know they were really unused? That's when I got turned off to the place.
