Texture's style of cuisine is modern European with Scandinavian influences, and it focuses on combining and emphasising different consistencies, using British produce that is sourced from both the earth and sea combined with ingredients from Sverrisson's native Iceland – a concept to savour.
Texture Restaurant and Champagne Bar is housed in a beautifully restored Georgian building on Portman Square in the heart of Mayfair, and just minutes from Oxford Street. The main dining room seats 50 guests. Additionally, we can provide a private dining room, which is ideal for smaller parties who seek an experience of refined dining in privacy.

Fine. Nice food. Set menu v good value
Absolutely fantastic as always. Had A very wonderful evening and will be back!
We ordered the regular tasting menu, albeit customised for my wife who suffers from coeliac disease: the kitchen had no difficulties with this and didn't expect me to go gluten-free as well (something that I wouldn't have complained about if they had done). They offered an excellent progression through vegetables, fish, meat, cheese and finally dessert (we were charged a supplement for the cheese, but it was so good that it would be churlish to complain), all of which were superb. Perhaps most striking was the array of wines available by the glass, including some first rate Alsace Riesling, Barolo and well-aged second growth St-Julien. The staff were extremely helpful too in helping me to find my wedding ring when I suddenly realized it had dropped off my finger. Generally speaking, nothing to complain about: aside, perhaps, from the fact that some might have found the atmosphere a little too "hushed" - no doubt explained by the fact that, when we arrived, it was was surprisingly quiet even for a weeknight given the recent rave reviews. Frankly I'd say help to fix that problem and get there before it becomes packed out!
This is a very stylish decor restaurant.
I chose to go Icelandic. I was offered some interesting wafers of various textures with a dip, but inexplicably half way through they took my plate away.
The bread next was lovely with unusual jugs of oil with pepper. It is slightly hard to be absolutely certain if things as some accents weren’t the easiest to understand.
Starter was a lovely selection of seafoods with garnish and a very typical hard bread.
The main was a nice cod dish with lots of greenery and various flavoured green smooth pastes.
Pre dessert and dessert were both delicious and unusual flavours.
The mocktail was a delicious tart apple drink, it was designed to my exact request
Toilets were spotless and fascinating
A great and novel experience
our visit was just great from the minute we walked through the door, food was fab and all the little details were covered. thank you
My daughter originally went for lunch and was so impressed I had to go with her. I now understand why she was so impressed . She is gluten free and I am vegetarian and we were catered for superbly. My black rice dish was superb and all the little extra touches- the salt and oil, assorted breads and amuse-bouche so tasty. The presentation was excellent and service impeccable. I now want to return.
We chose Texture to spend our anniversary lunch and the whole experience was impeccable. I loved the decor and style. The service was swift and discreet, we were greeted at the door and walked to a lovely, cosy table. Waiters were attentive but never invasive. The food was delicious, I have a sesame allergy, but they took note and adjusted every dish so I could eat it, without being harassed about which menu items I could or could not eat! At the end of the meal they brought complementary macaroons and truffles on a plate with "Happy Anniversary", very thoughtful indeed. I recommend it for a special occasion!
Texture is our special place for special occasions.
Lovely team, beautiful subtle setting and amazing food that has layers of wonderful flavours and textures.
Thank you again Texture for a great evening!
Outstanding food and service. We had the seafood taster menu which was delicious. Plenty of appetisers and food. The bill came to £293 for two which included a cocktail each and a bottle of wine. So not cheap.....
This was definitely a great experience. Service was unobtrusive but pleasant and efficient. Food was very good and had a little bit of theatre but not over the top excellent sommelier choice that were reasonably priced and matched our food perfectly! We were made to feel comfortable and unhurried so a lunchtime treat took up much of the afternoon and was something we will save up for and try to do again!!!
This is the second time we have had lunch here as we were in London for the weekend and we took our friends there and loved it as well, next time we come to London hopefully we may be able to have dinner there. The service and food is fantastic and very comfortable, a small furry stool to put handbag on and asked if you would like a cushion for your back really lovely.
Too noisy. Service friendly. Watching video , for adults, on a telephone, should not be permitted . Jacket should be a must-have, to guarantee a decent attire. No track-suit for men and women and no flip-flops or similar. WU e list to be improved with lower prices. Food overpriced. Bread, butter and oil vero tasty.
Amazing restaurant, would highly recommend! The food is delicious, staff are very friendly- cannot fault it!
Fantastic restaurant with attentive service and amazing food again. Can’t recommend highly enough! 5*
Everything about Texture was fantastic - the service from the moment we walked in until the moment we left was impeccable. The food was exquisite, each plate a picture with delicious, fresh and vibrant flavours and colours. We had the excellent value lunch menu (it had the dishes on that we most wanted to try anyway) and nothing disappointed.
There was, in addition to the 3 courses we selected complimentary crackers, bread and even an amuse bouche of heavenly Jerusalem artichoke and truffle soup which knocked my socks off.
The wine list is extensive and there are some relatively affordable carafes on there as well as plenty if you have the refined palate and deep pockets!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant and am already considering coming back!
Took a client here for lunch and he was left impressed. The service was excellent and the food was definitely up there. The coconut parfait was my favourite dish from the set lunch menu.
Hello. It was my first visit, I was with my husband, we celebrated my birthday. Place is absolutely amazing, old building and beautiful features inside. Was very warm welcoming and great service provided by staff. Great food presentation and very delicious unusual approach to well known food. Menu is great as well with different options for all kind of tastes. Would certainly recommend this place for a special occasion or for romantic diner. Thank you and certainly see you again 😁
All in all delightful night!
My only complaint is that their security cameras are not at all discreet so I felt very uncomfortable having two pointing(from very close range) directly at me as I dined! They were just propped up on a book shelf with a large red ring around them calling attention to them and showing that they are recording. While I understand the need for CCTV and I really do not mind it, I felt as if I had two obnoxious camera men filming me eat. Please invest in a more discrete system!
Delightful food & very reasonably priced wine list.
Only negative was a slightly oddly positioned table that we were sat at. This would not be an issue for a larger group (3 or more) due to the layout of the dining room.
Was an anti climax.
Incredible food, great balance of flavours and great use of textures. The service team were fantastic. Highly recommended.
One of the most amazing dining experiences to be had in London. The food is in a class of its own, each plate an absolute delight. Service is impeccable and the ambiance very pleasant. It is not cheap and the price tags for most of the wines are on the steep side but at this level of quality its hard to complain.
Lovely place. Great and attentive service, but not ‘all over you’ either, which was really appreciated.
The food was simply divine, a great discovery! And the lunch menu is a very reasonable offer for the standards.
Would highly recommend, and would love to go again!
Fabulous food and wine. Better value at lunch. Great service. But... Ambiance and surroundings missing something... also washrooms felt detached, dated and part of the hotel rather than restaurant.
A High value Business friend of mine from Bahrain asked me to recommend a restaurant we can dine in London and I didn’t hesitate to recommend Texture. We dine there and it was a good experience for him.
From bringing to end.. the duck was perfectly cooked ! Best I’ve ever eaten !
Always exceptional food and service. I love this restaurant.
The set lunch menu was excellent and extremely good value for a restaurant of this quality and location.
The only thing that spoils what is otherwise an exceptional dining experience is the ridiculous prices on the wine list. Perhaps they should consider a limited but reasonably priced offer to go with the set menu to attract more customers like us for mid-week lunch.
As ever everything about Texture is faultless. This restaurant is our favourite London venue.
The food couldn't be faulted, exceptional cooking across the board. We stuck with the A La Carte menu, and have some real standout dishes - an fabulously, melt-in-mouth pigeon dish, an incredible truffle mushroom special with barley risotto, just incredible. And the mains didn't disappoint either. Great food, with a dash of theatre and intrigue that I won't spoilt for future guests. Wine pairings were spot on as well.
The only fly in the ointment was the table they initially tried to give us - a lovely space, but one terrible table shoved in a location where a table shouldn't be. The restaurant should just ditch that table, and avoid the upset it would likely cause most potential diners.
Otherwise flawless. We'll be going back for sure.
Wonderful food, ambience and setting. Tasted fresh, beautifully cooked and presented, comfortably satisfying with real flavours and plenty of vegetables. Best cooked fish I have ever had. Coffee unfortunately needs to be reviewed and tasted by the chef, very poor. Seating could also do with being more varied as for diners of short stature it means eating off a table that meets you at chest height.
Amazing all around, we did the lunch prix fixe menu which is excellent and the pace of the meal made you feel welcome.
very interesting concept, will allow two different tasting menues on one table of four.
we agreed fish focused tasting mentu better if had to choose again.
well done Texture service was also spot on.
this is slightly different from your normal eating experience which was great as wanted to try something original.
Not bad. Had young children present and dining room was oddly set up. Felt like our table was wedged in slightly.
Food was pricey but good portion size for Michelin service however unsure if of overall standard was Michelin ranked liked its fellow restaurants.
Fantastic value set lunch with two choices per course. Delicious snacks, bread basket, appetizer and petit fours to accompany so left the restaurant feeling full after two courses. My handbag was given a fluffy stool to sit on. Lovely service and delicious food. Atmosphere was pleasant. Drinks were extremely expensive as is the norm in these places, £14 for an average gin & tonic.
A Michelin star restaurant who lost focus?
We first got a table in the hallway, but insisted to change to a more suitable place. We noticed that another party wad attempted located at the same table, just to change as well.
We ordered one menu, but got another. Honest mistake in any restaurant, but maybe not in a Michelen star place? No compensation given - not even a coffee.
At the end they also messed up our wardrobe/jackets. No big deal, but then again - a place that lacks focus.
Bread and vegan options excelents . Wine list nice ... service excellent
Fish tasting menu was delicious. Highlights were the appetizer of pickled herring on rye and the scallop in coconut & lemongrass broth. The main of cod, saffron risotto & avocado was surprising considering how restrained the other courses were, it's potentially not for everyone...I found there to be too many opposing flavors on one plate.
The staff were lovely and very attentive - I could have done with a 10 more minutes to finish my cocktail before the appetizer appeared but rather too quick than too slow! The restaurant is well set out and the bar very cosy and welcoming. I would recommend an after dinner cocktail!
Overall a lovely Birthday lunch - I would come again.
Food was incredible with great service. Really treated us well definitely would like to visit again
