Texas Ratings and Reviews
Food and servers are great. Ambiance not so good. Noise level high. Sports on 5 televisions. Too many men eating with their baseball caps on. Untucked shirts, shorts and jeans, t shirts, sandals and no deodorant. Well I will know better next time. Should have gone to Three Forks like I started to.
A must. One of our favorite places for so many reasons - great food, great service, knowledgeable staff, soft live music, magic, fun. We took some newbies this last time and they all enjoyed it. One even commented it was her new favorite place. The Delmonico steak and filets are awesome. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer is delish. Give Texas a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
I have been enjoying Texas for as long as it has been there. Knowing who runs it gives me total confidence in the quality. This time was no exception. I brought my date here on Friday. She does not normally eat much red meat. I assured her she would want to eat this. She LOVED the Filet Mignon (and so did I). We also had the Fried Zucchini for an appetizer and it was incredible. Thanks Dale and Shelby for another memorable experience! Oh and also the magician came around and did a small show for my date. I have seen this show a few times and I was less than 2 feet away from him. I have no earthly idea how he does what he does. It is TOTALLY impressive. That dude should be in Vegas!
John W was our server, and he couldn't have been better. He really strove for perfection, and checked on us often, but not too much. The food was beyond unbelievable. I got the New York strip steak, and my wife got the Texas ribs. Both were the best we have ever had! The beans that came with the ribs were amazing too!
We had a group of nine for a birthday celebration, and we sat upstairs. The food was good, but was overpriced and not particularly creative or new. The portion size was good - not supersized - but unfortunately, for the price made it seem skimpy. Loved the ambiance and decor; and the music and magician were lots of fun.
Overall our birthday celebration was a success. Food was great, service was excellent and entertainment (Magician) was great! Thoroughly enjoyed the music but because he was so good, everyone was attempting to talk over the music; therefore, table conversation was extremely limited.
Wonderful experience. The service was impeccable. We had filet mignon and the roasted chicken -- all the food was cooked to perfection and the desserts (raspberry w/chocolate ganache and apple pie) were scrumptious. It was a bit noisy, but vibrant. Server knew all of the desserts by memory and did an excellent job explaining menu options. Would highly recommend for special occasions!
So this was our 2nd time coming here. The first time our waiter was amazing. This time the service was definitely below average. Not sure if it was a training issue or her first time by herself. The food is outstanding. The wine is very good. Nice to see an owner actually walk around the place and thank people for dining at his restaurant. The food will have us coming back again, just hope the service is back to were it was the first time.
The Delmonico rib eyes were perfect!!. Having previously dined at both Del Frisco's and III forks, we had high expectations. We were not let down. The food is great and the service top notch. The large tvs really don't fit in, but overall excellent. Dale Wamstad is one of the best purveyor's of fine dining. Glad his family is still in the Dallas area.
