Texas Spice Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. The buffet had so much to choose from and everything was tasty. The dessert bar was amazing. It was too hard to pick from because everything looked so good. I would recommend your restaurant to my friends and family.
We met here for a friends 30th birthday celebration. Three of our friends are the buffet which consisted of skirt steak, chicken, and fish along with salad, green beans and macaroni and cheese. They all said it was phenomenal. The Birthday girl and I ordered the short ribs and chicken fried steak. Both were large portions and very flavorful! We will definitely be back again!
Our experience was just delightful! The breakfast bar was everything you could imagine. Some of us ate off the menu and the food was served in an appropriate amount of time and delicious as well. Staff was observant and helpful. Just a very nice experience. We will definitely go back!
We ate there three times during our weekend stay at the Omni. The food is consistently very, very good with interesting food and ingredient combinations that transcend beyond the mundane. Examples - meatloaf that was spicy I think but with Jalapeños, an interesting creamy hominy casserole, and maple infused sausage. Great ambience as well. Make reservations as Omni is often full from nearby conventions.
I am a sales Manager from the Omni La Mansion del Rio and Mokara Hotel & Spa and my friend who also works in the sales dept. for both properties took a memorial day weekend trip to Dallas with me. From the hostess who seated us to the bartender who made our drinks we felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant. Our server (I am blanking on his name) was attentive and dedicated to making our experience the best it could be. From a tasty pre meal treat to his knowledge of the menu he exceeded all our expectations. The Manager Terry Roan also greeted our table and checked on us to ensure we were well taken care of. If I was a sales manager at this hotel I would take every client to Texas Spice to experience the food and service and would be confident that that experience would assist in the client selecting our hotel for their program. Well done, and thank you for a wonderful time!
This is my fourth time to Texas Spice, the first three times I had groups with me and this time alone. I didn't realize when I booked it the first time that it was in the Omni Hotel. Was concerned that it was a 'hotel restaurant' and would be lackluster. That was not the case. Every time I have dinner here the food is great. I was staying at another hotel, who's foodservice options are lacking and went to Texas Spice for a steak. It was perfectly prepared and I had great service. I will be back.
This was our first time to visit Texas spice. We loved everything about it. Food was unusual yet fantastic. The chef even came out to address food on the buffet since I have a child with a peanut allergy. This was a special occasion for us but I definitely want to visit again.
When I arrived at my reserved time they said they did not have any reservations under my name for a party of 6. I showed them my Open Table reservation confirmation and then they magically found it. They set up a normal table of 4 for my party of 6.
I will say the server was friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was full. Half of my party liked their food the others didn't.
i would not visit this restaurant again.
Love that all is Farm to Table local Texas! Wonderful and fresh salad bar with all kinds of extras like a variety of toasted nuts, fruits, cheeses and other special items to make it gourmet and gorgeous. Nice hot food selection utilizing grass-fed and finished meats. Southern breads and delectable desserts along with dairy from grass fed cows. Something for everyone.
When we first arrived we got seated quickly, but we actually didn't get waited on till about 15 or 20 minutes later. I understood it was busy, but there were several waiters around just standing, a nice, we'll be right with you would have been nice. It was our first time there so we were a bit confused if we ordered or if it was a buffet. Turns out it was both. The waitress didn't put in the order correctly and we ended up eating cold food due to waiting for others food to arrive. She apologized and insisted in getting warm food. I refused. But overall it was okay. I'll try going on a less busy day and see how it is.
Wasn't happy with our experience. Perhaps I overlooked meal times on the website, but I expected a better experience for a Birthday/Valentine meal for my girlfriend. We arrived and brunch and the lunch menu were our only options. The lunch menu didn't have many options and we both order the chicken fried steak with was mediocre at best, even with the chorizos gravy. Our server was clueless, and the table for two was too big, you don't feel like you're in an intimate spacing with your guest; and $3.50 for iced tea?
Food was fantastic, and our waitress told us that it is all sourced within 200 miles which explained why it all tasted so fresh. I loved the ambiance too. Not too loud and with a great view of downtown. Only complaint is that it's a tad on the expensive side, probably due to its location in the Omni.
the service was great to loud not good for dates unless you are going to sit outside food bar was not good drinks are okay they have a really nice big group room and it really looks nice in the place my husband I were trying to celebrate our wedding anniversary
