Texas de Brazil - Yonkers Ratings and Reviews
This is the third time I have dined at this Texas de Brazil. All three times have been less then stellar. The Hostess was busy with other guests when I arrived, but quickly sat me when she was done. The servers were not real attentive and the gauchos frequently skipped by my table. Half the guachos need to learn how to cut the meat. Almost all the meats were over cooked and dry. The usually excellent salad bar was a disappointment this visit. The vegetables were very cold and did not look or taste fresh. The lettuce was wilting. $47 was way too much to pay for that experience. I asked the hostess on the way out if they validated for parking. She was rude and very unprofessional, “NO, OK — goodbye”. I will not be returning to this location again. Aleast I know this is not typical of other Texas de Brazil’s.
The meats are not as good as other restaurants in this genre, nor do the servers come around as often. Although the waitress said all meats would be served medium rare unless we requested something different, almost none were served that way. Most were cooked too long and some were dry. Our table was in a bad spot and the hostess would not reseat us, even though a better table became available before we started eating. She stated that people with reservations were waiting for tables, and did not change our table when I reminded her that we had reservations and had only been in our seats for a few minutes. No desire to help.
The waitress and servers were all very nice, but I think the meats are better at other Brazilian style restaurants.
I really enjoy this place, specially the variety of food they have. My last dining experience here was particularly great as they had what seemed to be an even larger variety of steak.
I tend to mostly eat veggies and salads, and even though that's the case I find this place worth going and enjoying the food.
We went during restaurant week. This is a great value, as the menu does not change and the food was wonderful, as always. I would like to mention that in order to get the restaurant week discount, one must make that request. Otherwise, one will be billed full price!
Summary: all-you-can-eat buffet with controlled meat service; extra for dessert
Satisfactory: high quality atmosphere and food
Excellent: fried bananas (not plantains) with brown sugar glaze
Unsatisfactory: not as much selection as expected; little creativity; little flavor, except when the flavor was salt
Overall: 3 times as good as Golden Corral for 4 times the price
We love Texas de Brazil. Amazing atmosphere, great service, and the amount of food! Oh my god amazing! The salad bar alone you would get stuffed from. It’s my husbands favorite restaurant and i was so happy they were on restaurant week so i could splurge for him!
First time here and we do not usually go to restaurants that serve primarily meat, BUT, this was fantastic being able to sample a little of everything. My favorites were the filet minion wrapped in bacon, the top sirloin and the best of all was the leg of lamb. The desserts were amazing too. Loved having the gauchos come to the table with the skewers and carve for us right there.
