Texas de Brazil - San Antonio
Here, traditions of Brazilian cooking blend with Texas hospitality to create a lively atmosphere in an upscale setting. Your meal begins with a visit to our extravagant salad area where you can indulge in a wide array of seasonal roasted vegetables, fresh artisan breads, charcuterie, imported cheeses and other specialties.
Then enjoy the rodizio-style dining that has made us famous. An endless parade of gaucho servers visits your table with skewers of freshly grilled beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage carved directly onto your plate. It’s all served with authentic side dishes of garlic mashed potatoes, Brazilian cheese bread and sweet fried bananas.
To complement your meal, select from our award-winning collection of wines or traditional Brazilian bar creations. And don’t forget to treat yourself to one of our decadent à la carte desserts.
I’ve eaten at several TDB restaurants to include this one a few years ago. I’ve eaten at other popular Brazilian steakhouse franchises but I’ve always ranked TDB #1. That changed last night. After being seated, we headed to the bar expecting sushi, smoked salmon (like actually smoked, not raw with smoky flavor), and various salamis and cheeses, nope—not today. The waitress informed us that they’d switched from plantains to bananas BUT they were out of bananas. HOW CAN YOU RUN OUT OF BANANAS? There are always a million of them at the grocery store! Even though we were disappointed, we just knew the mashed potatoes that we always rave about would make up for it. THEY DIDN’T. They failed to meet the creamy, salty, buttery standard they’d set for us and instead substituted those for the potato skin flavor—whatever the heck that is. I HATE POTATO SKIN IN MY MASHED POTATOES. No thank you! The meats didn’t have that same seasoned flavor we were used to either—maybe they cut back on the salt? I expected to have a sodium overdose—I prepared for it. But nope, just a lot of dull, less than flavorful meats. The worst part of the entire experience was the fact that the servers holding my favorite meat on those sword-like contraptions did not make an organized way around the room in search of the green carded guests waiting to get their monies worth of the “finest” lamb, beef, pork, and chicken. I almost literally had to lasso the waist of the guy carrying the sirloin after his fourth time coming into the room and only working the other half. Like, literally. “Where are you going with that meat?!” Maybe I should have waved my card in the air like a maniac to get his attention—but he wasn’t the only one who apparently put his service on right-justified that night. I have officially moved TDB down from #1 choice to “dishonorable mention.” My pet peeve is spending my good hard earned money and being left with a deep feeling of dissatisfaction. Thank you, next to TDB.
Awesome service. Our waitress Ray made our anniversary dinner amazing. She made sure our drinks were full and sent the servers over several times. She also recommended a few other cuts of meat that we hadnt tried. At the end she offered us dessert on the house. Ray made our experience outstanding.
Very disappointed with the quality of the food and service.
It was wonderful! Food was delicious and the service was great!!
We enjoyed our experience at Texas d’Brazil. The food was great and our waiter was very attentive!
Service was lacking to say the least. We made a reservation for 8:00 and were seated at 8:45. The table behind me, that was sat after us was served at least 10 minutes before us and served more consistently. I had to ask for sides and water throughout our meal and it was usually several requests before I actually got anything. It was really disappointing coming here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. We came with a coupon and gift card, only used the coupon and will be giving the gift card away instead of dining again.
Beautiful place and walking distance to the Hyatt hotel. We had a reservation and were seated right on time. Service was amazing! Food was hot and plentiful!!!! Must visit.
TDB is hands down my husband & I's favorite Brazilian steakhouse in S.A.
Texas de Brazil never disappoints. The food is amazing , the service is fast and friendly, and it is very clean.
Felt rushed. Service was slow. Several large parties. My wife likes well done meat. It was difficult to get, and typically burnt. Salad bar was not well stocked.
Amazing experience.. took my mother for Valentine’s Day and it was great :-)
It was really good surprisingly since it was Valentine’s day. We would’ve like more medium well meat instead we got a lot of medium but overall it was good.
Wasted my time getting the salad plate. Next time is straight meat the whole time.
The best service given in town, our plates were never empty, and price unbeatable. I would definitely go again!
It was my annivesary. Waitress did not seem to care. Waited a good while before we got our drinks. Once we started, waitress did not bring us plates nor sides for awhile. Food is always good but wow, the service was bad! Not sure if I should return. Perhaps the other brazilian steakhouse will treat me better!
No wine fairy? Darn
Always great experience
As soon as we arrived attention was 100% spot on. Our server was great and had attention to detail. Overall awesome place. Left full as can be
The food was top notch with an amazing salad bar. The staff were very friendly, and helpful with any questions that we had. They were able to accommodate us even though we were running late with our reservation. I will definitely return in the future, and recommend it to anyone.
Excellent place to celebrate a special occasion
Our server was great. Food was amazing. We will definitely be returning.
Great lunch! Izzy made our Valentines Day special with attentive service. The only thing that would have made it better was having filet. The mango limeade was delicious too!
Marco our waiter was personable, courteous and very attentive. He made the experience for my wife and I enjoyable. The food was very good and there were lots of choices to make.
We will certainly go back again.
Need to make sure everyone knows they do take care of the military with a discount which is a definite thumbs up!!
Overall, the food was fantastic, as always. The service was a little slow. We had to wait 10+ minutes every time we asked for something (water refills, the check, desert, a box, etc). There was also a very loud screaming child in the restaurant, which is not the restaurants fault, but people come to Texas de Brazil for fine dining and to enjoy a nice dinner; it would be different it were Texas Roadhouse or Chili's. Great food and quick service with the meats. We will most likely return.
This is a wonderful experience. I really like the service. Thank you for giving me a fantastic valentine's day.
By far the worst service we’ve ever had at a Texas de Brazil. At one point I had to get up and get plates for two in our party. They kept trying to bring us meat and not all of us had clean plates. We would as for a specific meat and never get it. We would have to ask for our waters to be refilled. It took over 30 minutes to get a to-go dessert and our ticket. We will not be returning to this location.
Great meal, great service with the assistant manager personally coming around to various tables checking on patrons. Overall would definitely recommend to friends!
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly which was much appreciated. I was disappointed that we had to wait 15 minutes for a table to clear out when I'd made a reservation and we arrived on time. It was louder than expected although we were seated in a side room with 3 large parties. I wasn't impressed with the salad bar compared to other churrascarias we've been to. For the price I do not see us coming back.
Nice dinner. It was really busy, but didn’t have to wait for food. Wait staff really hustled. Our one specific waitress was really nice but I could have used a second glass of wine, but she never came back to ask... overall, nice evening.
Love the food. Especially love the Brazilian picarina drinks! Steve is an amazing bartender!
Been here many times throughout the years and it always maintains its level of excellence.
Horrible meal food was subpar, wait staff and service were awful our waiter “Izzy” was uninformed, seldom seen and made frequent mistakes. Restaurant smelled and meat was below average. If you want a good Brazilian steak house go to Chama Gaucho
Delicious, hot off the skewer meats! Pace yourself. Don’t fill up on the bread! The salad bar offerings are abundant and tasty, but save room to try the variety of meats. We were too full for dessert, but the choices looked yummy.
Great food and great service!
Wait staff was very good, attentive to detail. Food was average to above average, good but not outstanding.
Hostess was not very good, needs to learn to listen. I requested a quiet table and after she asked a few questions about where I would like to sit, seated me among all the other seated tables where is was quite noisy.
For essentially a buffet with meat brought to your table it was a bit pricey and disappointing for the hostess service.
Attentive staff. Meat choices were offered frequently and were delicious.
We had reservations so we were seated quickly. The salad bar is amazing. Love the salmon. The soup is sooo good. My husband is a meat eater so the all you can eat meats are a fantastic value. The meats are always warm and so tasty. Nice date night.
AMAZING!! First time here and I would definitely recommend it!! Everything was delicious!!
Everything was great accept the waiter didn’t bring the wine I requested. I didn’t realize til I got the bill and it was more.
Great feeling starting at the front door and throughout our entire dining experiences. Some of meats were quite tough, the Lamb chops and the top Sirloin (inedible). Everything else was a true feast. We took two friends that had never been there before and they truly enjoyed it. In 2013 we celebrated our 50th anniversary at the Washington DC area TEXAS de Brazil with over 40 family and friends, an event we will remember always.
