Texas De Brazil - Salt Lake City
Honestly the food here is great. Our experience was hampered however when we had “reserved” a table for 7:00pm and we weren’t seated until 7:35pm. This is frustrating as it is not a reservation but more a call ahead option. Also our waitress was pretty absent the whole time. Food is great but they have some logistical issues that they need to work out.
Our server started very friendly but his service lacked attention to detail, it was disorganized and extremely slow. Food was good but meat servers were very slow as well, quality of meat was good though. Overall experience was just ok. There are plenty of really good restaurants in SLC to choose from, Texas de Brazil is not one of them. We will not be coming back.
Food is awesome. And the salad bar was very good as well.
We arrived at 5:45 and were promptly seated. When I got my plate there was food caked all underneath it. The next plate had the food on top. I let the waitress know and she took them away. I found a clean one and tried some of the hot items on the side board. I was excited when I saw the scalloped potatoes! Well they were barely warm and turned cold quickly. I could not eat them because of this. I was also looking forward to the hearts of palm I had seen on your web site. I had to pick out the ones in the back because the others looked like they had been out awhile and were curling on the edges.
The meat: when I found out my friends were taking me here I looked it up and saw all the different kinds of meats I was going to get to try. Well, the ones I really wanted to try were never offered. I wanted to try the Barbecued Pork ribs, Braised Beef Ribs, Lamb Chops, and the Picanha. They never came around with these. I did try the Parmesan Drumettes and they were dry.
I did like the lobster bisque and our waitress was very nice. However I was disappointed in the cleanliness and the quality. It certainly was not worth the amount my friend paid.
I would give it a 5 star but as for now only 3 since i was so excited to try the meats from this place and after 1:30 hours of being there i only had 5 type of meats and those were mostly chicken and sausage, the servers focused more into the private party behind us rather than the people that went there for dinner, I came here for my anniversary, i have gone to plenty i would say “high quality” restaurants in the past years and most when i tell them that is my anniversary, they leave a little something like a note, a rose, even a word from the waitress congratulating us, but here i had Nothing at all, i made the reservation for 8pm, I arrived 10 minutes early (7:50) to make sure they knew i will be using my reservation, i sat on my table at 8:34, over all my expectations were not accomplished whatsoever, I only paid around $120 for the two of us so it wasn’t bad at all but for the price paid, I would’ve expected at least to try all the meats, get my table on time or at least a congratulations from the staff, overall my expectations were not accomplished but i wont say they are a terrible restaurant because all businesses have bad days in my experience, i will be coming back to this restaurant soon and update my review, as for now i only had a 3 star experience.
The food was good. No more lamb chops which is why I personally pay the higher price to go there. Our server was super cute and outgoing but pretty much forgot about us. We asked several other servers for help and refills and plate removal. Most likely wont be going back. There are much less expensive Brazilian places in the valley.
Poor service from start to end. Usually I have great experiences at Texas De Brazil wherever I go however this was a bad dining experience. I waited to be served for extended periods of time, meat was overcooked with very few servers, and left disappointed giving the price you pay for a great dining experience at these locations. I will not return to this location.
Don't go here unless its during their really busy time. We went at 5:30 when half the restaurant was empty. As a result it felt like they only made a few different kinds of meat and didnt have much of it available so we sat there for a long time waiting for new stuff. When they did bring something good we only got a really small piece of it. We sat with plates empty for 10 minutes or more at a time sometimes waiting for food...they're supposed to be constantly bringing different kinds of meat to the table. What we did get was really undercooked. They claimed it was medium rare but it was nearly blue rare usually. We asked the waiter to bring some things more on the medium spectrum but when they did it was well done which killed the meat. The flank steak was inedible...like chewing on a tennis ball and just as tasty. Most of the restaurant patrons must have agreed cause they kept bringing it to the table over and over again but people would only try it once. The fillet was really good but we only got one small piece of it the entire hour and a half we were there. The chicken they brought was all bones. Got a little piece of meat out of it but it had a ton of small bones in it that ended up in my teeth. The sausage was good. Maybe it was where they sat us but we kept seeing gauchos with meat that looked good but they never made it to our table. The salad bar was excellent. If not for that we would have left hungry most likely.
With how expensive this place is i expected a heck of a lot more. I had been here one other time and it was really good then so maybe it was just a bad experience. But with the cost its not something i'm going to gamble on again.
Texas de Brazil definitely has the highest quality foods. What really sets them apart is the manager and executive chef Ty , besides being an amazing chef he always finds time to visit at the tables. Because the service is impeccable and the food is so amazing we have quit going to the other similar Brazilian restaurants, would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!
Good food and concept. Servers were great. Hostess was horrible
Getting seating took forever. There were so many open tables. Our party waited over 15 minutes after letting the host know that we have arrived just to sit down. After we got seated, we didn’t get a server for 20+ minutes. Once we finally got a server, it turned out it wasn’t even our assigned server. He just took the initiative to serve us because he noticed we haven’t been helped at all. Props to him. He did an amazing job. The manager noticed we didn’t have a server for the entire time and didn’t even come over and apologize for what happened throughout the entire night.
Great service by Kyle!
In the past we had a wonderful dining experience. However, this last visit was horrible . 3 of the 5 people ended up with terrible stomach problems. The variety of meat was very limited compared to past visits. We are very unhappy.
Went to Texas De Brazil on Friday evening. Showed up 10 minutes early and had to wait 15 minutes for them to take us to a table in the back of the restaurant. We waited for another 10 minutes to be asked by a waitress if we had been helped. She ended up being our waitress and did an ok job but since we were sort of away from all of her tables we didn't get much service. Food was excellent, but way over priced. I have been to other Brazilian Restaurants that are equal on food quality with an even better salad bar, however half the price. We probably will not go back. $225 for a family of 5 (with a 3 year old) and had to wait 25 minutes just to get drinks and start eating just isn't worth it.
Lousy experience. Salad bar was picked through and service was haphazard. Their specialty, the meats, were average at best.
I’ve eaten hear a few times but this time was not good. The servers did not bring around meat offerings very often and very little beef. The atmosphere was loud and hard to carry on a conversation. The waitress was very helpful. Overall I thought it was very overpriced for the quality of food served.
We enjoyed it -just not something we would probably repeat. Great service and fun atmosphere.
We had been to this SLC location for our anniversary and although it wasn’t spectacular then, we were satisfied enough to come back since our hotel was close and other places we wanted to eat were totally booked. We were there for approximately an hour-and-a-half on New Year’s Eve. We had a reservation and despite there being empty tables in the main seating area, we were seated in an area that is a distance from the food. It wouldn’t be a big deal if the meat wasn’t barely warm by the time it made it to our table. There weren’t a very big selection of meats brought to the table. It was either sirloin beef or lamb every time. Do they not serve chicken or grilled pineapple? When we were about to leave, there was some pork selections and sausage brought out, but we were done. If you want a salad that has any options other than lettuce and dressing, you will be as disappointed as we were.
Our server didn’t bring the cheese bread, bananas, or mashed potatoes that they serve until we were half-way through our meal. She hardly attended to our table, but it appeared that she was very attentive in the main seating area. She never asked if we wanted another drink, only filled 2 empty water glasses when there were 4 that needed to be filled, and she didn’t pick up our used plates. After giving her our credit card to pay for the meal, we waited, and waited, then noticed her going around helping and speaking with other people at their tables over in the main seating area. Where was our bill and credit card? She had obviously forgotten. My husband was getting up to go get it from her when she walked it over, failing to apologize or give an explanation of why she was taking so long to bring it back. The food that we ate tasted decent, but we don’t feel that the quality and selection was anywhere close what they charge and the service leaves something to be desired. We won’t be eating there again. Rodizio Grill and Tucanos are much better and have a bigger selection of food.
Super disappointed. This was our second time at this location and both experiences were similar. The service, both from the server and the gauchos, was awful. The server kept bragging about how he takes such good care of his customers as he brought my husband a limeade refill he’d been waiting over 15 minutes for. Meanwhile everyone else’s drinks were empty and we ended up grabbing a water pitcher from one of the server stations and filling our own. We were in a room towards the back of the restaurant and it was like it was too difficult for the gauchos to come back there. They would serve everyone else towards the front and literally walk back to the kitchen (without empty meat skewers) when they got near our side of the restaurant. At one point I timed it and it was over 10 minutes between visits from a gaucho. It was over 45 minutes of being there before we saw the first bit of red meat come around. When we got it, the grizzle was so thick it was inedible. The people at the table next to us asked to talk with a manager, but overhearing their conversation, it didn’t sound like it did much good. There are too many other Brazilian steakhouses in Salt Lake to get service and food like this, we’ll stick with Rodizio & Braza from now on.
We went with our family to celebrate the holiday. Everyone loved the food and atmosphere, but it took the server just a little too long to do anything for us. He was busy with a newly filled section but by the end, our group was his only table and he struggled to process our payments in a quick and orderly fashion (splitting payment three ways) Maybe work on speed of service and accuracy as well. I have high expectations while paying as much as it is.
We’ve been eating here for a few years, we enjoy the meat and the salad bar is amazing. However, service at our last visit was Even below subpar. Long wait for drinks, refills, our table was passed up by the meat servers numerous times in favor of a larger party, and our group left feeling neglected and unimpressed. There weren’t even many people in the restaurant! For the expensive price I expect excellent service. Diner beware.
It was not one of the best nights for Texas de Brazil. It was severely understaffed that night. With the staff they had, they were doing the best they could even with some not-so-happy customers.
We had reservations for 7:30 pm and were not seated until 8:15 pm.
The meat service guys initially were few and far between, but got better after 9:00 pm when the customers were much less. The overall service was slow and we had to ask for the normal condiments that would come with the meal: bread, mash potatoes, etc. Our waitress tried her best to accommodate us, but she had way too many tables to serve. She was practically in tears trying to help us and we understood it was not her fault.
The salad bar was stocked, but missing a few items. We found that not all the meats advertised on the menu for this restaurant in OpenTable were provided such as lamb chops. We were told that Texas de Brazil or this location was not serving lamb chops any more because of costs. If this is the case, Texas de Brazil should not be advertising lamb chops, any other meats, or any other items it has discontinued serving.
Management did compensate us partially for the service and food. We do appreciate that. I am hoping that this was a one-time event for this place.
Understaffed restaurant. Way too long between goucho’s offering food. Had to ask for everything over and over. Management was ineffective in making anything better.
We are returning customers. We usually only go to Texas De Brazil every month or so. our experience this time was AMAZING! We had Christio as our server, he was the most pleasant and patient waiter that we've ever had at any Brazilian restaurant. We had an amazing time, we love the food! Our highlight of dinner was having him as our server. We will definitely be returning and asking for days that Christio works.
Food is really good and fresh with a large selection. Service was great.
Our waiter was freaking awesome!!! The lady in that seated us q
Poor service throughout our meal. Waiter didn’t bring us our drinks for 20 minutes. The salad bar didn’t have a variety of toppings. We asked for more rolls from our waiter and he never came back with anything. I will not be going back.
Little slow getting meats out. Salad bar was ok. Charged us full price for the kids in our group and had to ask them to adjust the bill. Meats were excellent. Pork was moist unlike many other churascarrias.
It was steady but not busy the evening we went. It took a long time for the different meats to come by. The better cuts of meat seem to come around less often. Filet Mignon and House specialty. Took a long time to get rolls and bananas. Salad selection wasn’t great for the price. Ran out of water several times throughout the night. For the price their are several other similar restaurants in the area that have far better selection and food for less or similar pricing.
Worst ever. The bad reviews are 100% true
Non existent service.
I should of left the moment I saw a customer feeding his dog, not a service dog....a pet. Are pets allowed in closed restaurants in Salt lake city????
Good experience but over the years the quality has decreased. Floors were very greasy and slippery. Some of the beef was amazing but some was very fatty and chewy. Some of the meats circulated frequently, others we had to request.
I have visited several Texas De Brazil steakhouses and had great experiences. I am disappointed to say that this experience was different. Once seated we had to wait for our food to come around which was very inconsistent. One of the servers told us that they had prepared for a large crowd that evening and was surprised that they were not as busy as they anticipated. That comment made me wonder how they would have handled a large crowd as our service was very sub-par. Loved Salt Lake City as a whole wish our meal experience would have been better.
We have been to Texas de Brazil at different locations. We like the food but this time service was very poor. We had to exchange our salad plates for a clean ones since no one did. Server M forgot the girls drinks, So my husband went to remind her, we also kept asking for water refills which came at the end of the meal. We were eating , in fact a gaucho was giving us steak when the server came with dessert tray and started to talk about it.
We love desserts there but we went to Cheesecake Factory instead. Not a good experience
Only because of the meats is why we go. Your gift cards bonus gifts have so much restrictions. Your VIP cards have restrictions and expiration dates. We are fans of Texas DeBrazil but we are limiting our visits mostly because of restrictions and we no longer jump at buying the VIP or gift cards. Your other marketing emails really have no appeal or induces me to spend a really frustrating price for a meal.
We decided to host our company Christmas party here. The food was delicious but the meat service was REALLY SLOW! For it being a meat service restaurant, we were only served meat about 7-8 times and 2 of those were repeats! We’ve been a few times and it was great. I would still recommend them to everyone!
Somethings have changed at this location and not for the better. My past experiences at this location were stellar so I decided to break the bank and bring my Brazilian sister in law and my entire family for a holiday dinner. Although our servers were fantastic, the food was not. The famous lobster bisque pot remained empty throughout our 2 hour stay, the selections were fewer, the lamb chops are no longer served, and the meat was inconsistently cooked. This is not a cheap meal and I was disappointed and a bit embarrassed that I spent so extravagantly for a mediocre meal. Again, the staff were amazing. Very professional, helpful, and fun. The reasons for my complaints seem to stem from decisions made by the corporate folks. I will not be returning for another meal.
I was really disappointed with the dinner. I don't know if was very full or overbooked but we stay a long time without meet, and when come was always the same, just 4 or 5 kinds of meet. Other point the some meets was too well done or too rare.
Got seated away from the main dining hall when there were very many many open tables for four in the main dining area. Felt like outcast. Our server was helpful but inexperience.
I liked the restaurant, but I wouldn't go back. The food was too salty.
I have been to this restaurant many times over the past several years. Service quality was down from prior visits. Even though my party was there at non-peak time, service seemed slow and less responsive compared to prior visits. The salad bar was outstanding but the meats were not as tender as previously noted. In fact, some were difficult to chew.
