Texas de Brazil - Pittsburgh
Once seated, guests can then begin their dining experience by helping themselves to our extravagant 50-60 item seasonal salad area. You will find this is a steakhouse that even vegetarians loveTM. Sample four freshly made in-house salad dressings, gourmet artisan breads, imported cheeses, fresh buffalo mozzarella, steamed asparagus with strawberry sauce, Brazilian hearts of palm, grilled Portobello mushrooms, Greek olives, shrimp salad, imported Italian salamis, sautéed mushrooms, herbed sweet onions, feijoada (black beans), jasmine rice, spicy surimi sushi, soup du jour, and many other specialties.
Just wonderful. Great food, great service, great wine, although selection was limited.
First timers group of five for a Tuesday dinner. We went to celebrate graduations and one guest leaving for the Army. Sat down at 5:50pm, the salad bar was pristine with only a few customers seated. Many delicious offerings and the only difficulty was resisting the temptation to take more then a small portion of each offering. Meat came at nicely spaced intervals and was delicious. I love meat rare to medium rare, well done is no way to eat meat. Manager gave a very nice discount for our Army Man. The experience exceeded expectations.
The biggest detracting factor was that it took 15-20 minutes, even with a reservation, to be seated despite the restaurant only being half full, and multiple tables visibly available. We literally stood in the front of the restaurant waiting next to the clean and bussed table that we were ultimately sat at. Overall, the food was enjoyable, though a handful of the meat was cooked to point of being well done and not medium. Our server was incredibly friendly and personable though!
Overpriced meal for overcooked food. Waiter explained meat is prepared medium rare but all the meat was being served well done. We complained and finally meat starting comin out a little pink but at that point we were upset about asking. Only four-six people brining out meat and caused a huge delay in waiting to eat. Not an enjoyable dining experience and would not go back.
The food is always great. Our server was Patricia and we all loved her! Pleasant, talkative and we never went without because she was on it. My family has decided that this is our birthday restaurant so we celebrate five times a year here
The food and experience and the service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent..will definately return. Good ,friendly service
Everyone was so great. It was our first time there, and everyone was very accommodating. Helped us when we were confused. The bartender was our server. We didn’t get her name but she was outstanding. She was even nice enough to go to the kitchen and ask the meat guys to bring out more lamb for us. It was amazing and such a fun experience. We can’t wait to go back.
Also, wear comfy pants! You will leave very full!! Worth every cent!
Always great experience, great food, quick service and good happy hour
The restaurant was just a little bit grubby looking, like it could use a deep cleaning. It could be just that the light wasn’t very forgiving on a rainy early evening and I certainly don’t want to suggest that the food, plates, tables or silverware were unclean. I would just expect a more sparkling environment for the price and service. To their credit we were seated right away even though we arrived early. Drinks and the food from the buffet were tasty. We were seated at a table kind of far away from everyone else, but near the meat roasting kitchen. Often a gaucho would walk by with a full stick of meat and not offer it so we felt that we were offered meat far less often compared to visits to this restaurant in the past. We also had a gaucho really press the one member of our party about why she didn’t want the meat. After she said “no thank you I don’t eat meat” he kept asking why and pushing her about it. You may be thinking “why would someone that doesn’t eat meat come to Texas de Brazil?” Well they still do offer a lot of great food that she does eat and since everyone else in the family loves meat, it’s actually usually a great experience for everyone, except when someone is a jerk about it for no reason!
We were there to celebrate birthdays and no mentions of birthdays after check in was made
Compared to other Brazilian steakhouses I’ve been too the gauchos seemed to be slower with bringing meat selections around
Our waitress Alex (female), was not too friendly, didnt offer to change our plates or offer us plates in the beginning so we had to grab it from the buffet table. Didnt check on us if we need anything. We gave 22 % tip because the rest are phenomenal! We had to wait for the guys to come along our table, but they were all happy to be there and serve you. I think there was a wait in the kitchen so it took them a while to come out and serve the meats. Our waitress didnt even bother letting us know that there was a wait for the meat to come. Didnt care at all! The other table she was more attentive to.
We took my parents there this Sunday for their 45th wedding anniversary and it was noted on our reservations, hostess asked again when we came, but the waitress didnt care to even greet them. So disappointed how it turned out. My husband and I bragged about this place to my family and we always have a great time/service when we go but the service on Sunday was just not satisfactory.
We always enjoy Texas de Brazil...the people, the meat, especially the salad bar. Even the management is great. On our visit on June 5th, though, we had an extremely aloof waitress. Couldn’t get water, couldn’t order dessert, couldn’t get our check. This was not the norm for this place. The waitstaff is almost always very, very helpful.
Very good food and very good service
We celebrated my son's birthday, this was the first time we have been to the restaurant since COVID. It was very clean and delicious as usual. Lots of delicious meat choices and the salad bar s always fresh.
I’m sorry to say it was a pretty bad experience. All of the food we received was over cooked. They had very little staff and very little food to offer. We asked several times to try a few things, we never received them. Very disappointed, used to be a great place to eat
Food and service are wonderful. You definitely won’t leave hungry. Definitely worth the price.
Overall the food was really good. Some of the meats were overcooked but mostly they were great. However service wasn't super great. Felt like we got passed up a lot & had super long waiting times between meats, got offered chicken and pork so many times but steak and lamb waaaay less. And our server was a little hard to track down. We flagged her to ask if we could get more of the bananas for the table she said yes & asked if anyone wanted another drink. She came back and dropped the drink off and quickly exited, no bananas. Had to flag her down another time a while later. There wasn't any checking on us beyond asking if anyone wanted to buy another drink.
Definitely willing to go back because even if it took a lot of waiting, endless steak is super appealing and the food really was tasty.
Amazing service. We never waited for a thing, and our waiter knew the drinks and desserts inside and out. The ambiance was wonderfully comfortable, and the meat melted in our mouths. The salad bar was delicious as well with lots of fresh cheeses and olives.
Had a great 21st birthday dinner for my son. The food and service were excellent! I’m
Most meat tasted the same, there is a lot of variety in the meats but they all seem to be seasoned the same. the salad bar was very good as well as the lobster bisque though it was more of a broth, there was no chucks of lobster. Wait staff was very nice and liquor is very expensive even for something that isn’t that expensive
Fantastic service, food was amazing!
The food was fantastic. There were so many different varieties / sides, we hardly made it to the salad bar. Great environment and very nice wait staff
Excellent service and delicious food
They barely brought me any bacon wrapped steak and that's what I went for. -_-
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely will return.
This was my first time at Texas de Brazil and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our waiter, Rich, was so attentive and helpful - probably the best waiter I’ve ever had. The food was delicious and we had such a great time. Will definitely be going back .
Always great food but we had the best service tonight with Todd. He was so on the ball that it makes us want to back ASAP! Salad bar is amazing and safe. The garlic sirloin was perfection tonight 👍👍
Glad to be back at Texas de Brazil. I really liked how there were gloves for the salad bar. The food was very good.
Service was more in the slow side but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was excellent
i have mixed feelings regarding our experience at texas de brazil in pittsburgh last evening. we greeted promptly and taken to our table, even though we were early for our reservation. the gentleman couldn't of been nicer. I use a cane to walk, he made sure that the location of our table was okay for me. Our waitress was super and energetic, she couldn't of been nicer.
As far as the meat options, my son and husband loved it. they couldn't say enough great things about the meat. we were celebrating my son's birthday, this is the reason why we went here.
for myself and my daughter...it was a wasteful amount of money for the two of us. It just wasn't for us.
The desserts are extra, which I didn't realize that when looking at the menu on line. I know that there is one set price. The other main reason for going here was that on their menu, they have creme brûlée ....they were out. which was disappointing.
I don't think I will be returning, but I know my husband and son will be.
Food is phenomenal and it is a perfect place for steak lovers. I do know there are a few options for people that like steak well-done but I believe this is definitely a place that is more friendly to those that like it more on the rare side. 10/10
We chose this venue to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We first went to Sam's Club and purchased $100 in gift card for $75 because we knew our bill would be well over $100 for the two of us. Our waitress was very good, especially considering there were staff call-offs and she was taking care of more tables than usual. The salad bar items were all fresh and well stocked - many were not to our taste but the items we ate were all very good. We were given a small container of mashed potatoes to go with our meats but wish the serving had been a bit larger. We were also give two small seasoned plantains which are to cleanse your pallet but they were nothing special. We also had a basket of their cheese rolls which are okay but a bit tasteless. The meats that were served were, for the most part, excellent. We did have to ask for a couple of meats that had not circulated around after more than a half hour. We decided to get desserts and our server gifted us with a third dessert to take home since we were celebrating a special occasion. Our bill, with tip was $155 and we were pleased with the visit.
Seated at dirty table, server was also bartending so not much service, too many odd foods at salad bar, took way too long for meat servers to get around, meat not flavorful. Spent $150 for 2 people plus $30 for tip that server did not deserve...will never dine here again. Oh, and no creme brûlée available!
Our waiter "Rich" was fantastic. He was formal, yet personable, very knowledgeable and attentive. He even bought my daughter dessert for her high school graduation! It did seem as though the food offerings where much slower than pervious experiences and may have been due to the new COVID practices? This visit was without a doubt the best visit of our last fourteen!
We always have a wonderful time when we go; and we always bring new people with us every time.
Did not have the variety of meat that is shown on the menu
Great except the flank
Steak was very very rare -
Both cuts. So ouch so there was blood all over the plate and it was like gum. Everything else was as us USA Patriot, usually fantastic
Took longer than in past visits to have them stop at our table with the meats. One time was over 10 minutes. Missing items on the salad bar that were listed on the website. Overpriced for what was offered.
