Welcome to the height of fine dining. Welcome to Texas de Brazil.
We had a wonderful lunch. Lauren was a wonderful waitress,a lovely person. We enjoyed it more than I can tell you and are planning our next trip there.
The staff was so polite. The Carmel cheesecake and lamb chops were amazing
Very good, enjoyable... great staff serving drinks and coming around with food
Great restaurant. Excellent location. We had a party of seven to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The waiter was outstanding. The manager came over to ask "How was the food and service?" I would definitely go back.
Great food and service! Definitely on our list to return!
When we first sat down there was glass broken on the table and cut myself wasn't bad so I didn't make a fuss just asked that it was cleaned up The food just didn't seem as great as it used to be not sure where all the guys that serve was but we didn't git very many options of meats as we normally do server was pretty decent hopefully the next time we go will be better
The atmosphere was great as well of the service
Became our new favorite spot over Ruth Chris! Celebrated our 5 year anniversary here!
Excellent dinner. The food was always coming and we never had to wait for anything. All four of us had a great time. TRY and save room for the chocolate cake... you won’t be disappointed!
Great service and excellent food. This is the 3rd time we have been to Texas de Brazil and it is definitely worth it.
Went mostly for lamb chops and filet mignon. We eat medium temp. These two items we're brought my our table the least & there was very little medium available. Then there was an issue with the drink prices charged on our check.
Kept coming with non-beef options for too long. Great service however.
Excellent food and service!
I took my husband to celebrate his birthday. The food was excellent!
Went to celebrate our sons 21st birthday, party of 4. The service and the food were both fantastic! We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be returning!
Used to be my favorite restaurant. Service this time was awful, including with an attitude. Meat servers spoke too quickly, couldn’t understand them, and were difficult to hear. Often they bypassed our table without offering meat. Had almost finished salad plate and still no drinks, butter, or bananas, although he did bring mashed potatoes.
The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing and we enjoyed the tableside carving. Pricey night out, but a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely fabulous. Cooked and seasoned beautifully. Will be going back for special occasions!
Just a word of advice, They do have a dress code: "smart casual". So dress nicely (not talking black tie or even suits, but neat and tidy seemed to be preferred).
Problems receiving drinks ordered from bar. Never received them.
Out of town guest
Open by saying that Texas De Brazil is one of our favorite restaurants. The food quality, taste and variety was amazing as always. But the service this last trip left us with a really bad opinion of the restaurant. First, we reserved a table for 7. We reserved for 6:45pm, arrived at 6:30 and were seated around 7, ok. 15 minutes later, our server finally arrived, nice and cordial at first. She told is she had to write down our drinks so she wouldn't forget, apparently that didn't help. She recommended a wine two of us, and an mixed drink (mango madness I thinkl) for my father in law. The kids ordered sodas. Because we seated at a 6 person table with an extra chair placed at the end, my setting was weird and I didn't have a napkin. When I asked the server for one, she tried to grab my son's and the explain that to me that they only use cloth napkins and I didn't need an extra one. I explained that I didn't have one at all - she huffed and said she would get it. Food started coming around immediately after she left. 20 minutes later our server came back to check on us and told us that someone else forgot to get our water, I reminded her that I needed a napkin. 10 minutes later our water and the kids sodas showed up. 10 minutes later, we asked about our drinks and she told us that they out of the wine and needed to pick something else. Still no mango madness. 15 minutes later she brought the wine, but still no drink for father in law. We asked her about that drink and she said the bar ran out. A full hour to be told that they didn't have our drinks. Still no napkin, so I got up and took one off the table next to us. Server pretty much ruined our night by her inattentiveness and poor serving skills. Maybe she was having a bad night (they weren't that busy), but for the price we expect (and usually get) much better service - we won't be going back there for a while.
Food this time around was sub par. The lamb chops did not have seasoning that it normally has. Tasted like regular grilled lamb, which wasn’t bad but didn’t have the signature taste I look for
Mushrooms had no flavor and were bland. I take my terminix team here every month and this was by far the worst experience regarding food.
Service was excellent
Understaff took us 50 min to get our drinks. Server of the food looks like they don’t want to be even be there. Bathroom was filthy the bar in front looked like it was never cleaned.
Service was ok, food was sub par- not what I would think for $50 a plate.
Waitstaff was very friendly and service was lightning fast, the food was overall delicious but some things were fairly over seasoned. Overall was a fairly good value, only lessened by the fact that Tucano’s in Hampton is the same exact type establishment and it’s $15 on average.
This was my first time going to this establishment. It actually was my birthday. My waitress made us wait about 45 minutes for WATER and she kept disappearing. She got an attitude when we asked her about the items (potatoes, etc) that she was supposed to bring back to us. That took another 20 minutes. Then, the meat stopped coming to the table and we were all still on the green side of the tab. My party decided that enough was enough and grabbed a manager, paid and left. I never even got my birthday dessert. I nor anyone in my party will be returning. We should’ve gotten a discount.
My mom came to VA to attend my reenlistment and I brought her to this place because I heard it was great- what an understatement! Leg of lamb, filet mignon, pork tenderloin, and some of the most tender cuts of steak I’ve ever had! The salad bar and hot sides were also flavorful and never ran out. My mom and I had a fantastic time, and I definitely plan on coming back with more friends and family.
First time there and definitely ain’t be the last. We were so impressed and the food was amazing along with the service. We knew it would be pricey but the overall experience was worth it.
Birthday for son in law. The waitress servers were exceptional, but the gentleman meat servers were not all that good. I’ll say hall we’re bored and the other half very pleasant. Need some work in that area. The food is very good however and it’s a very pretty spot. Overall very good.
Made reservations and was seated as soon as we got there. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and it was our first visit so she did a good job explaining the concept of the Restaurant. The meat servers didn’t quite rotate to our table as much as we would have liked they kept going to the larger parties and then back to the kitchen. As we were winding down the waitress asked if there were any meat we missed so we were able to request the lamb and ribs that passed us by. It would have been nice to see a menu or have the exact prices told to us....we were celebrating our anniversary so it didn’t really matter but I was surprised at the $7 bottle each of spring water that we received. I should have just settled for “Norfolk’s finest water” as they called it. The location of our table was not the best at all. We were seated next to the salad bar on the end where customers got their plates and it was a tight squeeze between our table and the next. So when the meat servers or other customers walked by it was kinda cramped. The restaurant was somewhat loud so it was hard to have a conversation. The meats were good and the mashed potatoes were tasty. Our waitress was very nice but she had another large party so she was occupied with them. Nice experience for a celebration and different atmosphere but I will not visit again.
On this nice service was not at its greatest. They were very short staffed and my guests and I only had our drinks refilled once. I had to flag down a manager to get a refill. The food was great but due to the shortage of staff I was not able to enjoy my dinner for the price I paid for my guests and I.
I have frequented this restaurant for many of years and eat here at least twice or more a month and I was saddened by the service.
The food was good but the service was slow and the guys with the meat didn't come around much, even after I mentioned it to a manager. Water was never refilled, clean plates were never offered, and it didn't seem "authentic" at all.
The gentlemen walking around serving the meats were to upright. Need to have more personality.
Everything was great accept the fact me and my wife were upset the waitress we had only came to the table twice the entire night and we watched her go to other tables constantly but not once to check on us or to bring the plantains or bread or mashed potatoes as she did other tables and was just very upsetting and annoyed but the food was great and other were awesome as well just the waitress made the 3 year anniversary me and the wife shared with the restaurant an unpleasant vist
I made a reservation for 4 at 6:30pm on Sat night. There wasn't a host at the host desk for at least 5 mins. We were being served around 6:45pm. All they were bringing were lamb and pork. No beef for at least 30 to 40, which we had to ask. And even then they brought out 3 different kinds of beef. Our favorite was flank from previous visits. Me and my girlfriend were served the end piece and the server said he would he back with the fresh one but he didn't return for 10+ mins. Waitress was gone, after she brought us our drinks and we had to wait for awhile to get our water refilled. We are not going back to spend $44.99 for mediocre service and food. It took us 2 hours to finish dining.
Absolutely great place to eat. The food was excellent, I cant wait to go back!
The Quality of the food is very good. The salad/sides bar is exceptional in quality. We only wished the meat servers (or maybe it's the chef's choice?) had provided better availability ... seems the kinds of meat we wanted was scarce, and that which we didn't care for kept coming around to our table. And, the portions were so small (think thin slice about 2"x2") that we were looking for more and then had to wait ... wait ... wait for more. Since we came for the meat, that aspect was frustrating. Maybe we eat too fast for the Brazilian style?
A little to expensive for the quality of service and food provided.
The food was good and we were seated at the time of our reservation but the restaurant seemed very short-staffed. We had to wave down our waiter to request water and other service at our table. The bread and sides did not arrive until half-way through our meal. The servers who brought the meat selections carved very tiny pieces which were eaten quickly so most of the time you had to wait several minutes in between. They seemed to follow the same circuit through the dining room and we were always at the end leaving only one or to pieces on the skewer by the time they reached our table. The salad bar had a good selection but most items were empty or nearly empty and I didn't see anyone monitoring the bar to replenish't the items. Most of this would have been understandable if the restaurant was crowded but it was not. I don't think this is a good value considering the cost of the meal and drinks.
