Texas de Brazil - Norfolk
Here, traditions of Brazilian cooking blend with Texas hospitality to create a lively atmosphere in an upscale setting. Your meal begins with a visit to our extravagant salad area where you can indulge in a wide array of seasonal roasted vegetables, fresh artisan breads, charcuterie, imported cheeses and other specialties.
Then enjoy the rodizio-style dining that has made us famous. An endless parade of gaucho servers visits your table with skewers of freshly grilled beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage carved directly onto your plate. It’s all served with authentic side dishes of garlic mashed potatoes, Brazilian cheese bread and sweet fried bananas.
To complement your meal, select from our award-winning collection of wines or traditional Brazilian bar creations. And don’t forget to treat yourself to one of our decadent à la carte desserts.
The service was very slow. Our waiter only came by to refill after we had eaten. Never asked if we needed anything. You pay good money to eat there you should get good service.
Great food, great service, all in Downtown Norfolk
Great food, great service. Bring your appetite. The portions and quality were perfect!
Great place to eat. Would recommend to anyone. Love going here to eat.
Texas de Brazil is a great restaurant with awesome staff. The atmosphere is quite inviting and the food is superb. The salad bar was delicious and the selection of meats keeps you coming back for more. Since we were celebrating my birthday, they gave me a complimentary dessert. We definitely will be back.
Our server is great, his name is delan, over all experience is excellent
Our waitress was fabulous! At times we did have to wait for the food servers to make their rounds and sometimes they all arrived at once. However, that would not deter me from making a return trip.
We always have great service at this location. It’s turning out to be our “go to” for special occasions.
Food was great as always, the drink service was slower than expected.
I only got 3 meets. Even though my green card was up. And after about 20 min of being there they stopped coming over to the table. They kept offering sausage and we wanted all types of steak.
The worse Texas De Brazil that I have been.
It was amazing from the start. We came early so we waited at the bar, the bartender’s name was Isaac and he was very welcoming and made great drinks. Our server’s name was Brittney and she was attentive and very helpful. It was my husbands birthday and we couldn’t be happier. We will be back!
Texas de Brazil was everything I hoped it would be and more. Outstanding!
As always the food is fantastic.
Our waitress and the hostess were great but a couple of the gentlemen serving the meat had attitudes. When we asked if they could repeat what meat it was they were serving, they would reply with a loud stern standoffish voice. We would then decline whatever meat they were serving just not to have them around us any longer.
I absolutely loved our dining experience at Texas de Brazil! The staff treated my grandson so well & for a football player who can truly eat - I appreciated it.
Great meats, enjoyed immensely. Very loud but nice ambiance
Overpriced and staffed by non customer service oriented personnel. I'll never go back again. And to make it worse the visit last night was free because the first time we visited in January was so horrible that they invited us back for free but free isn't an exuse to drop the ball .... And the food was subpar as a matter of fact I will be visiting tuscanos spend less and enjoy way more .... 0 stars if it would let me pick 0..... Plus to many bad things happened to lost
Anniversary dinner, Carson our waitress treated us great she even wrote happy anniversary on our deserts. She made sure that our choice of doneness on the cuts of meat were followed
The food was great, we just had to wait longer than expected for them to bring the different types of meat around. The waitresses we had were great. They made sure we were taken care of. They even had the manager take off a few dollars of our bill. Because we had to wait so long. Overall the experience was worth the money and the trip.
Too loud. We could not even talk to each other it was so loud. The meats were awesome; however I will not go back.
It is expensive but the meat is good. We went on a Saturday night and could not get a booking before 9 pm.
The staff was very friendly. It felt genuine especially the staff cutting the meats. They were very interactive with us and made it a very enjoyable experience.
Outstanding food and service! I especially appreciate their 20% for military and first responders. The meat is delicious and they have one of the best salad bars around. It had been a couple years since our last visit to Texas de Brazil. We'll correct that oversight and remember to visit them every couple of months now--it's a great value for the price.
I really enjoyed my experience. I think the food is amazing...But for that price, I was expecting a nicer table (most of the tables are very small, we were not given a particularly bad one) and a better space arrangement (the waiters barely had enough space to walk). The acoustic was kind of bad too, we had to raise our voices to have a nice conversation so my idea of a "romantic dinner date" was kind of ruined.
Tl;dr: if you're all about the food you should still go, I give 5 stars because I consider that to be the most important aspect of a dinner; if you go for the ambience, just don't.
Very expensive, but worth every penny.
Had to wait for ever to a clase of meat, we were sitting (2) in a far end where the food hardly came by or by the time it came we received the poorest quiality of meat from the stick... Definely not a weekend restaurant to go with my wife again (Ruth’s Chris will be my choice for weekend restaurant dates)
Food is always good. Worst service we have had.
It was fantastic!
The food is good but not exceptional. We waited for 25 minutes after getting our food to even get a glass of water! We didn't get our drinks from the bar including a $52 bottle of wine until the meal was almost over, then the sides that should come out at the beginning of your meal came when we were done eating. For a $185 bill (including tip) I expected a lot better service.
Everything was amazing. The entire experience from beginning to end was absolutely perfect. If I had to absolutely speak negatively on the place, I would say it’s a tad bit noisy. Difficult to listen to your dinner mate at times. That aside, this place is magical.
Definitely NOT worth the money! If you want to fill up on overpriced chicken cooked different ways, here is your place. But if you want a mix of meats, look elsewhere. Oh, and if you order soda, they pour the smallest kittle bottles in a glass, charge way more than other restaurants, and you get no refills. It was truly a disappointment!
We had a reservation and were greeted promptly. While they prepared our table we got drinks at the bar and were not rushed. The bartenders offered and explained their house drinks, one of which the wife tried and loved. Table service was great and all the meats that we were drooling over made it to our table with no problem. The only problem was...small stomachs! We wanted more but, the food was so good we ran out of belly space!
Texas de Brazil offers several discounts, however, VIP card does not apply on Fridays and Saturday and the server implied it would not be accepted at lunch any other day. The gift cards purchased at Costco cannot be combined with VIP card or military discount, which does not apply to spouses. I wish they would be more accommodating.
Great food. Tricia was a great server. I was eating solo while in town on business.
Had a wonderful experience dining in the Norfolk location. This was a first time visit and really had no idea how things worked but servers took us through the procedure and we truly enjoyed our dinner. "Salad" bar is soooo much more than a salad bar and is wonderful but careful not to "fill up" on all these goodies to save room for the delicious tastings of all the meat choices. We passed on dessert but the sample tray looked delightful.
One glitch was the staff had forgotten to "label" the salad bar items so we were guessing at some of the items. Our service slowed down a little towards the end but overall a very enjoyable evening.
I am a huge fan of the concept and this restaurant. This one is a bit small but was still good. If you plan on going I would suggest you do it after 6:30pm because it gets pretty bright almost blinding in there from the sun coming through windows between 5pm and 6:15pm.
The food and atmosphere were wonderful! My wife and i had always wanted to try a Brazilian steakhouse and we were not disappointed! We can't wait to go again and see what dinner there will bring us!
