Bowl of House-Made Lobster Bisque
Good social distancing - removed 75% of tables instead of checkerboard seating, waiters all wear masks, saw them sanitizing tables after guests left, etc. Salad bar is awkward; can't go up there, have to select what you want from the online menu, show it to the waiter, they take down notes and then fill the plate for you. So it's not quite TdB of old, but close enough - food and service is still excellent. Worth the money
I would like to start off by saying I’ve eaten here many times. But this time was very different. The food was great but the service was terrible. We waited Atleast 10-15 mins to get different types of meats to come to our table. I profusely asked the main server to do something about this but he never did not expect this kind of service because I’ve been here so many times.
We are frequent fliers with Brazilian steakhouses, we don't have one where we live, so we seek them out when we travel and we go to them several times a year. However we had never been to this particular location. I have to say, the service we received was absolutely horrible, we've actually never experienced neglect like this at a Texas de Brazil. My husband and I each went loong periods of time (10+ minutes at a time) without anyone bringing skewers of meat over to us, the server was MIA at least 75% of the time. We quite literally had to flag people down just to get food, which is the opposite of how it normally is at a Brazilian steakhouse. Really odd experience, very disappointing. Bad enough to warrant never going back. Too many good Brazilian steakhouses to waste our time on this one again. I do not recommend them.
Excellent food and service! They took all proper and necessary procedures to keep the customers safe!
The host was so nice and with just a little conversation we mentioned we worked in the ER and they gave us a nice discount for it at the end which took us by surprise. Everyone was incredible and so was the food. Perfect anniversary on top of it being our first night out since the quarantine began.
The waiter was great, but getting food was challenging. We had to wait 30-45 minutes for food each time. First the price it shouldn't have been like that
Very good service, good food
Unfortunately, the new setup because of the virus spread is not welcoming. I hope Texas De Brazil returns to its previous glamor, but for the time being we will enjoy the delicious memories we have of this place.
The two problems we had were 1) your people at the front desk do not coordinate -- I called when we got there 4:06 for a 4:00 pm sitting and the person I spoke with said there is onoly one group in front of you. She evidently did not tell the person managing the sitting. So after 5 groups going in ahead of us I went in and the manager on Sunday was extremely rude and would not listen and we waited -- finally I told her that I had called 30 minutes ago. She either did not understand English or was just rude. The food was good except filet overcooked -- but the waitress was very good.
We will have to think about coming again as the value was not as good as previously.
Very disappointed At the changes made due to Corona virus. Not the same experience at all. I understand the precautions, but wish I would have known before going how different the experience was
Mothers Day, food was fantastic. We weren't too happy being back by the kitchen though. Also, and this may sound trivial, but when we were finished, the waiter asked if we wanted desert. We were all full so we said no. He told us, take it to go, it comes with the meal. Myself and our daughter didn't want anything. My wife decided to take a piece of key lime pie with her to go. Well, it was NOT part of the meal because we were charged $9 for the pie. I know, not a lot of money. But, we were full and didn't want anything anyways. Wife only got it because he said it came with it anyways. I would have been extremely upset if we all took something to go and been charged $27 extra.
I might recommend to others, but warn them about everything adding up.
Great. Great food. Great location.
Sad. First let me say that I completely understand the predicament the restaurant is in. There were only 4 tables occupied with less than 20 patrons. I understand that the salad bar can't be stocked as usual. They can't have every cut of meat constantly cooking for the small crowd. The service was good and they kindly brought snacks for us to have with our drink on the patio. My issues are with the pricing during the quality cut back. The drinks were 14$ each. Not expecting that, 2 of us spent 56$ on cocktails. I would expect them to offer happy hour prices even if the bar is closed.
Since the buffet salad bar has become on demand, you don't really know what you're getting. I understand the concept but the selection is greatly diminished along with the quality. The meats are on demand as well so you can't choose the portion you want. Again I completely understand and sympathize with the restaurant. However, I think the diminished quality and diminished ambiance of abundance would call for some pricing incentives until they can get back into full swing. Even if the service method changes the quality can return. Until they have parity in pricing with quality, I won't be back.
It was great to be out and I felt very safe. There first night opening up so they were feeling there way through. There isn’t a public Salad bar. You are given what is on the salad bar and you tell them what you want. It was fresh and the best part of the meal. You are only allowed three meats at a time at your table. And if one person wants chicken and the other doesn’t or meat cooked a different way, that can be a problem. Over all very nice
The food itself was great but meat servers didn’t come out that often so your plate was empty for 5-7 a time;
It was simply amazing!
Luis was such a great waiter. He always checked on us and made sure we were happy. We will definitely be coming back!
Food was good and service was very attentive. There were lots of children there including ours. Night was good.
My boyfriend and I came here for our 3 year anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful night. Great experience!
We love this restaurant. We make plans to come here a few times a year as part of our periodic weekend getaways. As usual, we were greeted and seated by friendly staff and our service was outstanding, as was the food. The meats are always seasoned and cooked to perfection. And, the cheese breads, whats not to love about those. Our favorite restaurant by far, only wish there was one closer to home.
Enjoyed the experience but the noise level was a little louder than expected. Additionally our server came to the table once during our evening. He mentioned to us how busy he was and apologized. For the price of the evening, I felt this was unacceptable.
Texas de Brazil is great, was celebrating my birthday and the service was great. Plenty of variety in both the meat options and salad area.
We had a great time! The meat selections are good and the salad bar is delicious! Absolutely love the lobster bisque.
- The meat was delicious once it finally made it to our table.
- I enjoyed the salad bar, most notably the smoked salmon, lobster bisque, and potatoes au gratin.
- The atmosphere and decor were very enjoyable.
- Even with a reservation, we waited 30 minutes to be seated at our table.
- There was almost no meat being served except for 2-3 varieties. Very little was brought to our table. A good thing to be noted, is that when we asked for a specific cut they did make an effort to bring it to us.
- We had a very long wait between times our waiter came to help us.
- They use a tablet and card reader tableside to pay. While paying, the waiter specifically asked how much we would like to tip and watched as I made the payment. I felt it was extremely unprofessional.
My husband and I frequent Brazilian steakhouses for special occasions. This was our first time at Texas de Brazil in Houston. The quality of food is definitely comparable to other similar restaurants. However, the service left so much to be desired that we will most likely not be returning.
The food was not very good compared to past experiences. Many servers consistently skipped our table thus missing out on a number of meats. When wife would ask for meat to be medium well I was medium at best. Most likely will not return again.
Food, Service and Ambiance were all great.
Walter took great care of us. We will be back!
The food and service were exceptional. It was nice to have a nice atmosphere in which we could have civil conversation without shouting
i liked everything the food was great and ambiance amazing. you need VALET PARKING!!!!!
They put us in a room but been here before and never happened to us before rarely came by with meats me and my fiancé celebrated valentines and had to sit there waiting for meats to come by asked several of times for food and didnt like this last experience
Started off with the salad bar and had to wait at least 20 min for the meat to get to our table. Waiter ask if everything was fine and told him we haven’t got any meat yet. Restaurant is nice and atmosphere was great.
Birthday for my husband. We did not have a waiter come to greet us after we were walked to our table. We sat there waiting until they decide who will be our waiter. Finally a lady came. Our dirty dishes were not taken away, my husband had to ask please help to take the empty dirty bowls and plates away. Once finished we our salad plate, we had to wait for to come around to ask her that we are ready for the meat plate. We waited some more minutes. My husband asked my son to go get the salad to use because she was did not come around to our table frequently at all. My son went to get the plates, then she brought the plates to us. We saw that the other waiter at the table very frequently came to the other couples table nearby us. Upon finishing eating she did not asked about the birthday occasion on the reservation. But when we asked for the check to be processed, she quickly came around. The food was a little too salty though. We will definitely keep in mind our experience since it was suppose to be a special occasion. Hence we did not order any dessert from the restaurant when we could have. I just told her that we are full.
All was great but I was in a cramped corner table.
