Texas de Brazil - Fairfax Ratings and Reviews
Have eaten at Texas de Brazil in Richmond and I will say that is better than this. We had to wait like 5-7 Mins for them to bring food. Normally once you sit down from getting the salad bar the bombard you with stuff. Not this place we had to flag a person down after that it was hit or miss. Overall I will go again
Everything was great except for check in. Hostesses were not friendly and actually forgot us but would not admit it. Our reservation was for 4 pm 10/11/17. We arrived at 4 and given a pager. After seeing many parties arriving after us seated we inquired at 4:20. We were then seated. With all those hostesses just standing around one would not expect for them to mess up
A group of friends took me here for my birthday this past Saturday, November 11, 2017. From the time we walked in the door, we were greeted with smiles and the experience only got better from there. We had the best waiter ever! He was attentive and was able to answer all the questions we had about the menu. The food was outstanding and everyone in my group enjoyed everything they ate. The desert was even outstanding. Overall, the experience made my birthday one of the best ever! I absolutely love Texas de Brazil, Fair Oaks Mall! I will definitely be going back!
We celebrated a birthday here with family ranging from 8 - mid 40's and everyone loved it. The wait staff is very helpful and polite, and the food is very good. They specialize in red meats, steaks, and lamb were more tasty than the chicken for example. My son said the pork tenderloin was also a little bland but he did enjoy the spare ribs. The sides and open buffet style tables were also very well maintained and flavorful. I will return in the future for special occasions.
The food taste very good, however, the meat is a little too salty. The salad bar offers a good variety. The mashed potatoes are creamy and rich. The sweet flavor of the plantain and the sliced pineapple takes away some of the salt and balances out your meal.
Overall experience was very good. Good service and good food...buffet style salad bar and side items in addition to a nice variety of grilled chicken, sausage and meat cuts delivered regularly to your table. Packed on a Saturday night and, thus, quite loud...and the acoustics made conversation a bit difficult. The waiter did not mention that ice teas were not refillable, and, thus, my ever so thirsty young son ran up quite a bill just on bottles of ice tea. The wine list could use some expansion, especially in whites. There were no booths, all the seating was with table and chairs...we happen to love booths. Lastly, The restaurant does not use tablecloths, a bit of a surprise at this price range. Very nice ambience!
Good food. Server disappeared after a while.
We arrived and we were seated pretty quickly. We were soon greeted by our server, who took our drink order.
Food was good, and the gauchos took our suggestions for what they should bring out next.
For the first few minutes, drink refills occurred pretty quickly. However, 20 minutes into the meal, our server was nowhere to be found; there were a couple of other servers milling around, but they were serving the tables next to us. From that point on, any request for a drink refill, dessert, the check, etc. was a 15-20 minute wait.
This location used to be my favorite local restaurant, great place to celebrate special events and host good friends and visitors.
In y opinion the selection of meat is poor, most was served not very hot, and the quality is low grade. Also the service could be overall better, I personally like to get a new plate every so often; don't like to mix beef blood with chicken and sausages.
I will definitely look for another place for my birthday celebration.
It was our first time dining at Texas de Brazil. We were seated by a very pretty and friendly hostess named Lisa. Boris was our server and he happily greeted us and explained how our dining experience would go. Everything was delicious. Boris recommended the Strawberry Basil Caipirinha and it was tasty. The salad bar was a little overwhelming so we only got to one side of it. However, everything we tried was perfect (except the lobster bisque.) I’m a medium rare person and the meats were perfect. I can’t possible pick a favorite. Try them all! Unfortunately, I have a gluten allergy 🙄 so for dessert I was limited to creme brûlée, flan, and a papaya creme thing. I ordered the papaya cream thing. It was good. I didn’t finish it because it seemed more like a milkshake and I was given a spoon to eat it. Anyway, the other desserts like the chocolate mousse cake looked amazing. We will return. Either this location or DC. We had a wonderful experience. Thank you staff.
Great expirence, was celabrating my 4 years anniversary. Service was oustanding Fabricio our waiter was excellent. The meats were all delicious and the wine celection perfect. I will be coming back soon and yes will recommend this Fairfax Texas de Brasil to friends and family 100%
I have dined at Texas de Brazil on several occasions (one of which was my first date with my wife prior to getting married). We recently celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary and, once again, we were very pleased with all aspects of our dining experience. Thank you,
We had a family dinner (party of 5) there on 10/2 - Monday. When we checked in, the front desk asked me if there was special occasion. I replied yes, and indicated it was my son's 16th birthday. Later on, I specifically asked the server of our table to help us celebrate our son's BD. He replied that he'll bring some cake for my son. However, nothing happened after we finished meals, they completely forgot or ignored (?)
In general, the food was good, including salad bar but less selections compared to Fogo De Chao. I'll pay more to dine at Fogo De Chao.
Atmosphere was quiet (because it's Monday night). Manager was nice and friendly!
Took my wife to Texas de Brazil for her birthday. Wonderful! For the uninitiated, a colored chip is left at your table. Red means I'm resting, green means bring the food. And do they come by with different steaks, lamb, sausage, mostly served medium rare (you can ask to have it served your way). Lots of food, all delicious. May want to go on a week night. We went on a Tuesday night, and it was crowded and boisterous. I would think the weekends would be packed. Pretty pricy nut, about 45 dollars per head, not including drinks, but once you're there, it's all you can eat. Skip lunch, enjoy dinner at Texas de Brazil, you'll be glad you went.
My family, friends and I have been going to Texas de Brazil since it first opened. It is better than any of the other Brazilian Restaurant chains or stand alone Brazilian Restaurant. I have been to several of their restaurants in VA and TX and they are all equally as good. Fernando is a great waiter at the Fairfax restaurant. Ask for him and tell him Joe H sent you.
Overall disappointment. Salad bar was the highlight with lots of fresh and interesting choices. Meats were tasty and plentiful however they all seemed to have the same seasoning (heavy salt and garlic). The real issue was around service, ambiance and value. Most patrons were dressed very casually and that's fine but it certainly didn't feel like a steakhouse experience. Our waiter had too many tables and didn't offer to clear out old plates. We were celebrating our teenager's birthday and I had to chase down someone to get the dessert/cake served despite having talked with them about it when we arrived. In the end, it was a loud, casual dining experience with a high price tag. Next time, we'll go to a real steakhouse for the price.
