Texas de Brazil - Fairfax Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I went for a late valentine’s dinner this year and we were pretty disappointed. We’ve gone in the past and loved it; this time, though, we practically had to wave the meat servers down to have them bring food, and it took us literally 20 minutes to get any medium rare cuts of steak, which is supposedly their default temperature. Our server, Jaime, was very nice and tried to help us get what we wanted, but we still left feeling that we paid entirely too much for a mediocre experience.
The decor was fairly impressive inside. It's a little dark but doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. I was impressed with how they have a large selection of wine visible in large racks. Overall, the food was great, and even a vegetarian would have great options available eating here. Just do not bother if you don't eat meat for some reason. The food was pricey, so I wouldn't eat here all the time, or at my own free will, but it was definitely worth it to eat here and enjoy the atmosphere at least once it is a nice restaurant.
Valentines Day date with my husband, this is our 3rd valentine we have spent at the restaurant and this time the only item we were disappointed with was we were sat in a kid loaded area, we were a party of 2 for a romantic night out and didn’t think we should have been seated in what felt like the family section.
This is usually my "Go To" place for special occasions. The food is well seasoned and prepared, the only downside during this visit was our waiter, he was very attentive, didn't maintain the drinks on our table, or remove the dirty dishes between courses, when asked to have certain meats brought to the table he didn't follow through. He even had difficulty presenting and explaining the desert try to the table.
When he brought the check we promptly provided him our payment. When he returned with the paid check he "Hovered" around the table waiting for and asking for the final check to be returned to him. He even interrupted the conversation to asked for it. We provide a tip because we know they pool the tips and everyone else was deserving, unfortunately he received his undeserving reward. We will return be will be cautious of not having this waiter again.
The ambiance created by the hues of red in the restaurant add to the richness of the dining experience. The salad bar selections are atypical of other restaurants. And of course, the highlight of every meal at Texas deBrazil, the meat, cooked to perfection at every temperature...well seasoned, tender, abundant!!! This restaurant is on our list of go-to eateries! Loved it. We will be back!
While the restaurant offered high quality meats served straight off the spit by friendly employees and a quality salad bar, I found the venue somewhat noisy...definitely not intimate or romantic. The bill with an 18% tip was over $220 for three people consuming only three beers and one dessert in addition to the full fare meal. With all the people up and about the salad bar, I felt as though we walked into an over-expensive buffet. Won't go again because of the cost/experience. I would have much preferred a dry-aged steakhouse for the same price.
The protein was good, some cuts were a little salty but overall it was fine. The problem was the meat servers did not stop by our tables, basically bypass us even though we had our coasters turned up and we had to hunt them down, it never happened when we were at Chima. It is an okay restaurant but they have to work on the service a bit.
The "salad bar" was extensive and could be a meal in itself. The meats were delicious and the servers brought each item at all stages of cooked from rare to medium well. The drinks, dessert and even the coffee were very good. The one downside was the price. At $47 per person , you had better bring an appetite! Not for the light eater. Overall a good experience and a fun time! I recommend!
My experience with two others was just fine. The food was delicious, albeit a little salty that night, but in all honesty that is a rare occassion for the meats to be overseasoned/too salty.
I love the salad bar, which offers so many options.
If you have a problem, you can always count on the management and staff to do their diligence to remedy whatever problem you may have - sincerely.
We noticed a few meat cuts were being offered to other tables after we had finished so we were a little disappointed that they weren’t offered to us while we were eating.
Also, we reserved a table for my birthday dinner. Without asking, our waitress brought the dessert tray asking us to make a selection so I assumed it was for my birthday but she charged us for it! I was a bit disappointed in the service that the dessert was pretty much pushed on me and that I had to pay for it.
The food was still good but I wish I could’ve had a better experience for my birthday.
I'm a regular costumer at Texas de Brazil, we love this place, but last time was terrible specially our waitres then, the meat was salty and rare, when I requested medium well/well done, and the gauchos were so slow, if I don't call then they don't come. Was simply terrible.
Took my daughters there for my oldest's 18th birthday with two of her friends. We were seated quickly and the service was fantastic. Then all the meats started coming out. All were well flavored ans cooked to perfection. The staff was omnipresent always appearing just as your plate was finished. My 18 year old was beaming ear to ear she leaned over took my hand and said it was the best birthday of her life. we will be back. Thank you for a very memorable time. Greg Rhatican
It was such an amazing experience dining here. Was my girlfriend and I one year anniversary and she was totally happy that I was taking her there. It was my first time there and everything was superbly delicious. Even things that I don't normally like we're quite delicious.
Buffet sections has great food selections. Patrons with peanut/nut allergy was informed by the manager on duty as to what dish/dishes has peanut/nuts in them. Our main waitress was very attentive to our needs. Everyone was pleasant to us and that made our family feel very special.
Restaurant employees seems like they enjoy working them for they have a smile on their face and the tone of their voices when they speak to patrons are very welcoming. Great place to eat and I would highly recommend this place to my family and to all my friends. See you soon !
Place was nice but the meat and choices at the salad bar were not as great at Chima and Fogo de Chao. Additionally it was difficult to get attention and be passed from the servers with the stakes of meat because of the middle section we were in. Also the meats all felt just warm, as if they were taken around the restaurant served and we got each meat when it was not hot.
My wife and I went for our anniversary and the food and service were great! Just what we expected. Quality of food was great and everything was delicious. My wife enjoyed some great wine and even said it tasted different than other wines she’s tried. Would definitely go back again and recommend to anyone :)
