Texas de Brazil - Columbus Ratings and Reviews
Food service was great when we firat arrived, but then had to ask multiple times for food service. Waiter made mistake with bill and took longer to correct the problem than it did for the entire dinner. Manager never apologized and even took the discount that they mistakenly applied to our bill off without any explanation to us
My experience was not that great service wise. I was trying to celebrate Veteran's day as I am a vet. However, I was first turned away service when I arrived at 3. There appeared to plenty of room. However, I was told by the mnager/host that I wouldn't be seated and that he couldn't fit me in because of veterans day. His explanation didn't make any sense as to why we couldn't be seated and the bar seating was not offered to us as it was other patrons. However, I walked out and then requested a reservation and 3:30 popped up as available so I made the reservation. I walked back in and had no issue with the reservation and was able to be seated. However, once seated we had to wait for our drinks that we ordered for like 20 minutes and then 45 minutes for the bananas and the mash potatoes to go with our meals. Our service was not that great as if they were trying to make a point that they didn't really want us there. I wasn't sure if we weren't wanted there because the seating issue when we were rejected or if he didn't believe I was a vet in which I presented my military ID or if it because we are a same sex couple. I don't understand. I've never had this issue before. We use Texas de Brazil for all our big events. This year alone we went for our anniversary, adoption celebration, birthdays and for date nights. I also wasn't sure why the manager wanted to turn away business to a vet on Veteran's day or any business at all. The food was great as always, the lighting and mood were amazing as always, but all that doesn't matter if you don't have the customers. Even as we continued to eat the tables weren't filled and looks like we could have been seated without the confrontation. Thank you for the open table service as we were still able to enjoy great food on that day, but without being able to make a reservation we would have been turned away.
We came here for an anniversary dinner and had a wonderful experience. I have several serious, life-threatening food allergies and don’t get to eat out often. The manager, Jason Dobbin, personally offered to take me on a tour of the kitchen and explained everything so well. He talked me through the entire menu and was very upfront about which foods might be contaminated with something I couldn’t eat. He had my food prepared separately and even adjusted the price since I wasn’t able to eat very many foods. It was absolutely delicious and I felt confident that the food was safe for me. Thank you Jason for an amazing evening at your establishment!
I give the food a 4 star just because the garlic mash potatoes were ice cold. And the value I thought it was a little over priced for the food choices. The meats were fantastic but the salad bar was a little disappointing and there were no other side choices.
Great variety on the salad bar....and once the meat begins it is a never ending parade of delicious selections. I don’t remember having an empty plate! Our server was also very attentive. On the downside, we had a dining party of 6 and our table was in a very dark corner. All and all it was a great experience.
We went a few years ago for the first time, on our wedding anniversary, and really enjoyed the experience. At that time we had a coupon for $20 off. I thought it was still a little too pricey, but had been wanting to go again since I enjoyed the experience so much. We went again this past saturday. We were seated right away with our reservation. The staff was very friendly, but my wife waited 10 minutes to get her glass of water refilled, only because I had to flag down somebody. They did apologize. Again we had a $20 off coupon, but were told we couldn't use it because it was a saturday. Why would it matter what day you use it. I eat the same amount whether it is Saturday or Tuesday. Online, it said that 2 and under eat for free. I was charged $5 for my 2 year old. I think that my 6 year old niece being charged half price is too much. She hardly eats anything. Kids should be charged a lot less. The overall experience was ok, but it did not seem nearly as enjoyable as the first visit. With the price of dinner, it is not worth returning.
We usually don't go out on dates often, but I am so glad we chose to come here. The meats were all perfectly cooked and seasons. The best part was the cheese bread and fries bananas which is what they call their palate cleanser. It was definetly nice to have in between cuts of meat.
We had only been to Texas de Brazil once before and my wife suggested it for our anniversary. The food was fantastic, the ambiance is great. The wait staff bent over backwards to ensure we had a good time. They wished us a happy anniversary when we came in, the waiter mentioned it later on and offered us a free dessert. The waiter came over quit periodically to make sure everything was good with us and our drinks were filled. He suggested and mixed drink that my wife and simply adored. It was well worth it for us, would definitely do it again...
This is our second year in a row for our anniversary, they always make it special. Our waiter this time was Dave and he made us feel like we were the only ones there, very attentive and funny. We also came for our friend's 50th birthday earlier in the year, they always make special occasions better! Highly recommend, bring your empty belly cause you will leave stuffed!
We had a party of 7 for lunch and they put us at a table in the corner in the dark. The tables wobbled terribly and we had to ask for some light and we fixed the tables. They served us slices of meat that were so thin you could see through them. We had to keep waving at the servers to get more meat. For $300+ for lunch you would expect way better.
We tried Sunday Lunch at this location. Not quite all the menu items as the higher priced dinner, but PLENTY to choose from and more than enough to eat! Meats were excellent, melt in your mouth sirloin, yum! Did not disappoint at all! My dad was very impressed!
Very nice place to dine whether it is lunch or dinner. Since I have eaten both type meals there, I still can't understand why the large price difference when there is very little change in what is being offered. The meat we received on our last occasion was very salty-more so than usual, nevertheless, we WILL eat there again. It is just tooooooo good.
