Texas Cattle Company - Lakeland Ratings and Reviews
We go for our Birthdays every year. It is always wonderful. So nice to get served properly. We like our steaks Medium Rare, which is hard to really get many restaurants to do, but our steaks this time were rare. We are not complainers so we did not send them back. Just know that they will probably cook your steak on the lower end of what you ask at the least. Everything was still wonderful. I will however order my steak Medium next time I am there.
I love Texas Cattle Company. The steaks are absolutely delicious, but my all time favorite is the salad. I would drive from one side of Florida to the other just for it. Been going for years and will coutuine going. Just keep doing what your doibg don't change a thing. Highly recommended.
Originally our group was just a party of six. I was able to make a 6:30 reservation. As the day went on 6 more wanted to join us. A party of 12 was too large online for our 6:30 reservation. I called the restaurant directly and they easily changed my reservation so all of us could sit together!! Food was delicious and Blake our server did a fabulous job. He recommended the escargot with brandy and blue cheese and it was out of this world! Food also came out quickly.
Our server,Blake & his team were very attentive. Food was fantastic. Salad & the cheesy rolls are always fantastic. Cedar plank salmon was wonderfully smoked. Steak was tender & fabulous flavor. Mashed red potatoes fabulous. Love coming here on my birthday. It is a little pricey but it is high quality, not fast food.
Hubby's B'Day celebration, and one of our favorite places! I ended up not able to go w/him, but never fear hubs brought me my own steak meal to enjoy later. My steak unfortunately had lots of gristle, but flavor was good. Not sure i they save the "not grade A steaks" for take out orders or I just got a bad one, but the inhouse steaks are always good...this, my 1st to go steak....not so good. Hubby's steak was inhouse and great, mushrooms, and salad, and cheese bread, and roasted broccoli wonderful as always!
Steak was dried out. They have made some changes which I didn’t care for. If you want an Arnold Palmer to drink, they “hand squeeze” the lemons, and now charge by the glass. The steak appeared smaller than usual and no longer has the nice fat cap end it used to have. The steaks are not served with pats of butter either. If you like escargot this appetizer is tasty and melts in your mouth.
We used to enjoy eating at Texas Cattle. However last week we had a bad dining experience. The prices were up and the quality went down. The steak was salty. During Christmas I had purchased a gift card to get the bonus card and specifically asked if I could use both for our dinner; I was told that I could. However it turned out that I was misinformed. Not good customer service.
The noise level is fairly high but that was due to the customer base not the staff. The service was reasonably slow, it was busy so I understand the noise and the service. The seating was uncomfortable and cramped, the seating for two made it difficult to actually have more than one plate on the table. This is NOT the place for a romantic evening but is good for dinner and cocktails for the guys or on work lunches. The staff seemed to be very much inexperienced and young but that is also expected from higher priced restaurants. Im very much on the fence. I would have to say this place should be enjoyed via takeout and you should picnic by the lake or enjoy the patio seating.
The food and service were exceptional.
The restaurant temperature inside was very cold, we were in the back next to the Texas Cattle Company sign.
Recommend that you get some craft beer from local Florida breweries in the drink menu.
We had a good experience on our date.
If you like a good steak, this is the place. Birthday special is icing on the cake. Go on ethics's DAY of your birthday and get a free steak. The 5LB steak challenge would let you eat it free. Thats fun to tell friends when you go. I had the ribeye. Outstanding! My wife had the pork chop with shrimp. Bread is PHENOMENAL.
Food was good as usual. Our servor was attentive. We were the first party of the day seated - 10 minutes after our reservation. Lots of folks wondering why no one being seated. We were taken to furthest dining room - ridiculously cold and seated next to a window. Never could take our jackets off- $60 for two with one glass of $5 wine each, the $1 ugrade to a baked potato and one of the 2 steak dinners being free because of a birthday. Looking around, the room we were in could use aome freshening up - showing wear and tear after all the years in business. Won’t return on a unusually cold Winter night. They automatically add an 18% tip - we plussed up to 20%.
Food was extremely good. Place would win a gold star if not for extremely poor service. Wait staff should be retrained as poor service seems to be a standard complaint for this establishment.
During my visit, I ordered a lobster tail with my steak. The lobster didn't arrive with my entree. The waitress apologized and said she would have it delivered immediately. We finished our entrees and the lobster still didn't arrive. We asked for the check and the waitress was a little offput by my decision to cancel the lobster as our table was already done eating.
Seems the past couple of times, I left less than happy with my meal or service, but News Years Eve everything was perfect. We were seated right away, got a very good table, and our service was great and the meal was well prepared and served timely. I would recommend this place to friends.
It was a girls night out and started out great. We were say next to a family who were ride to us about our language and volume. In my opinion kids don't belong everywhere. Also there should be an area set aside for families. For the prices you pay no one should feel comfortable enough to approach your table.
I come here at least 2-3 times a month. I don't always make a reservation if i want to sit in bar area. I love the pork chop, blue chips and a blue rose with pineapple juice. I will say it's time for this business to upgrade. Some areas in this business are so dark u need your cell phone light to see your food. On this last visit in the bar area the floor had not been vaccumed. It was a cold day and when we looked up to see if the vents were closed, we noticed how duty the vents and ceiling tiles are. This business make more than enough money to put some of it back into the business. I will continue to eat there, but I would like to see it upgraded.
My wife had never experienced Texas Cattle Company and we had hotel reservations in nearby Bartow for Christmas Eve and Day. OT had the restaurant in Lakeland hold a table for us. We were seated promptly after walking beside Lake Mirror. The restaurant texted us when they were ready for us.
Our waiter was Ricky and he did an admirable on of serving and entertaining us. Dear Wife had fried green tomatoes, which I thought were cut too thick...but she liked them. My appetizer was snails in garlic butter, and there were TWELVE of them. Very nicely presented, too. DW and I each had a bottomless salad, followed by steaks. The Bacardi rum Guava punch was so good that I had a second, and then 14 Hands Cabarnet Sauveignon with the main course.
At first we told Ricky that we didn't want dessert, but reconsidered while we finished our wine. My wife said that the cheesecake we split was the best she had ever eaten.
I know the place is a steak house, but the steaks took a back seat to the appetizers, drinks, and dessert this time.
Very mediocre, I’ve had better steak for less. The blue chips are very good and I’d recommend them. We had to speak to a manager to get a grilled cheese for our son. Apparently griddling an inside out hamburger bun was too difficult for the folks in the kitchen.
