I come here often, but I must say this was a magical night. Food, drinks and service were GREAT. Cody our server was awesome. I will be back. I don't always make reservations because I sit in bar area a lot of time.
My husband didn't eat for at least 36 hours before our reservation. He wanted to make sure he had room to eat as many different items from the menu as possible! He had an incredible, Pittsburgh rare Cowboy Rib Eye. We shared some escargot that melted in our mouths. We also shared some blue chips and if they had them waiting for us when we were seated it would not have been soon enough for me! I love the blue chips! I had twin pork chops and had to take one home because I was full on just one. We also took home a delicious piece of carrot cake and a piece of key lime pie. On the down side, my grilled asparagus was a slightly too smoky and the bottoms could have been trimmed to a more tender spot on each stalk. The salads, the baked potatoes were terrific. All in all, we had an amazing meal and service that could not be surpassed.
The food was not as good steak was over cooked. And my sons cheeseburger had a bone in it.
Great food and fantastic service.
The food was decent, but not worth the prices they charge! I ordered a ‘Merica Burger and it tasted like meatloaf on a bun. I wouldnt choose to eat here again personally, but its not the worst place in town.
The steaks were very good— flavorful and tender aged beef. The salad was fresh, crisp and tasty. The bread was wonderful, but my request for butter was met with disdain and, when served, it came in an unappetizing “trough” and it tasted like Crisco. My daughter’s mashed potatoes were gummy and inedible. My baked potato was abundantly stuffed and delicious (no butter though after bread experience.) Hostess was efficient. Waiter not so much. Once the meal was underway, we waited nearly 20 minutes between our salad course and entree. This was too long in our opinion. Our waiter seemed annoyed when we asked if our entrees were almost ready. Service and food were uneven. But, what they do well was indeed very yummy.
Service was terrible and extremely slow....we had reservations for 6.. also to be asked again prior to being seated.. they bring us to a table with 5 settings .. we didn’t want to be cramped while eating.. so we were seated at a table for 6. We were seated at 6:30. Waiter comes gets drink order and asked if we would like appetizers, we order gator taiil. Few minutes go by then our drinks arrive. 15 minutes later our salads arrive and we have to asked if the gator is coming, he said they should have been out already. He then comes back with gator on lettuce that looked like it had been sitting out due to seeing the wilted lettuce. Fast forward 2 hours meadium rare steak was overly rare and outside crispy.. my 5 year chicken fingers were burnt they said they use same batter as gator tail. However gator was light brown and tenders were dark reddish brown and extra crispy.
Over the last 3-4 years my Texas cattle company experience has been hit or miss.. I will definitely miss it from now on.. not worth the discount for your birthday dinner
After half a dozen good experiences here, we had a very bad one this week. The place was mobbed, waiting time with Open Table reservation was 30 minutes, the waitress prepared us for the fact that they were plating 45 min after ordering and some patrons were yelling across the dining room when we got there. Our meal was very delayed and then was close to cold. We were afraid to let the plates go back to the kitchen for warming for fear that it would be another 45 minutes. Other patrons across from us were very angry at their experience and were trying to convince the owner that he should discount their meal. The body language of the staff reflected the frantic atmosphere inside the dining room. Our waitress, Kendall, did her very best to be positive and attend to us as she could but it was clear that it was a bad night all the way around. Good restaurants can have bad nights and, most likely, that is what happened. What prompted me to review negatively was the fact that they kept on bringing in hordes of new diners instead of addressing the needs of the diners already seating. The staff and kitchen simply could not keep up.
Kitchen was extremely slow.
Never again will I trust Texas Cattle Company for my Valentines date with my wife.
I booked via open table well in advance so I can get a table. We go here a couple of times a year and always enjoy our visits.
We walked in and I see a sheet covering what is normally the small waiting room and meat display case. Looked inside and they had 3 tea table and flimsy chairs stuffed into this small area. They hung two sheets from the ceiling for what they thought would be "privacy". Of course they tried to set us there and they said we had to be seated there as there were no other tables there. I checked open table and the only other options were in Orlando so we stayed.
It took 40 minutes to get the food out so all we had was the extreme noise from the staff yelling names and party county, phone ringing off the hook and other loud conversations of people coming in the door. They suckered 4 other couple to be trapped in there. Most everyone else refused and I saw them eventually get a real table.
I did checked the bathroom to see if they had tables set up in there also. Good no tables in there but wouldn't put it past this sorry management.
Food was good as normal but NEVER again if I want a romantic dinner with my wife for a special day. NOT even going there for Mother's Day.
