This place was wonderful! Welcoming expansive outdoor porch to have a cocktail, apps, wait for your party to arrive. Hustling little place, but ambience was really relaxing ranch feel. Tucked away bar for a little intimacy. The manager, Julio was outstanding. The staff was professional and courteous. Do enjoy the gator bites...my first time.
The place was immaculate. Restrooms, too...they even had subtle touches of the the Decor. Love the Decor! Cowhides, fringe, stain-glassed chandelier, and a John Wayne painting that can capture your attention. Julio expressed his pride for the restaurant. The place is privately owned and explains the attention to detail.
The food was delicious and fresh. Steak, all natural. Humane raised-chicken.
Loved the cowboy inspired shirts on the waitstaff. Nice touch!
Well, that’s it! Check this place out, say hi to Julio while you’re there, you’ll be be glad you did!
The steaks are all natural
Great service, great food, went here for my
birthday but have also used them for company picnic, the best all around.
So, went to Texas Cattle Company for my birthday. Have not been there for several years but got the attached email (won't allow me to attach photo from email but email show Cowgirl T-Bone.) and went for it. First I get there and only beers they have are Bud, Bud Light, Miller Light, Mich Ultra and Yuengling. I knew they used to have good craft beers but bartender said those days are gone and people have gone back to the basics. News to me. Got the menu and it said birthday steak was an 8 oz Sirloin and not the Cowgirl T-Bone. Waiter said they just send that out in the email and the sirloin is the birthday steak. Asked for a manager and he said basically same thing the waiter said, that it was just advertising, and I could have the t-bone for an up-charge. I said no, this is what the email I received said and this is what I expect. Finally made them realize that I was serious. Shame that the restaurant has gone down so much. Very poor attitude from staff and management.
I took my husband there for his birthday. We we're visiting from out of town. The menu was plentiful and we tried some outstanding appetizers that were completely different from what we are used to. Loved the gator bites!!! The steaks were absolutely delicious. We had leftovers and the steak was as tender and tasty as the moment it was placed in front of us. We will definitely be back again.
The steaks did not disappoint as all our filets were wood fired to perfection. Grilled broccoli was very tasty and the staff accommodated my mom’s request for steamed “soft” broccoli without hesitation.
Great place for a good steak and good pricing. Haven't been disappointed here ever.
The food was excellent as always. But my server Marcus didn't seem to be on the ball. A table of 4 near me got their food a lot faster than I did. It seemed to take him forever to bring me a glass of water and at the end it seems to take forever for him to bring me my dessert.
Good but didn’t like the latest downsizing of the menu. Huge amount missing!
We had a 7:00pm reservation, we checked in at 6:50pm and didn't get sat until 7:30. Our service was okay. We didn't get our waters until after our appetizer. Our appetizer and entrees were brought out by two different people, did not see our waitress until we were halfway done. She apparently had a table request her so we became of less importance. The food was good, but the wait and service was not.
Best steak I have ever had. I strongly recommend the Ribeye and several bowls of salad. Eat there ever time I am in lakeland.
Sun n fun was in town so it was very busy. It did take longer than usually for my food, but no big deal because I knew they were busy. I had salmon there for first time and it was just okay. Love my pork chops.
Birthday dinner. Excellent food & service. Only complaint was the broccoli was not even warm.
I have been here in the Lakeland Fl Texas Cattle Company for 20 years and this is the first time they really stunk. They changed the menu making the selection limited. The whole restaurant needs a HUGE makeover, the smell of mold is dominate, you can’t even smell the food cooking over it.
I will not recommend
Went here on a recommendation, for my bday. I was about 15 minutes late and they honored my OpenTable reservations and sat us right away; unfortunately, that's about where the good experience ended. Our server was a dud; not terrible, but not special, either. It took him a while to track down a mixed drink we ordered; and though he recommended I went medium-rare on a steak instead of medium, because you can always cook it more/not less, he did not come back after delivery of our meal to ensure that it was done enough. We were sat at 8:15pm on a Saturday and while this might be a busy time for them, everything we received (thankfully, besides the steaks) was cold, including the basket of bread. Further, they had changed the menu three days before we visited (per our server) and instead of the large menu we had previewed online, we were given one with only four appetizers to choose from, missing the dinner item my date was interested in, and even the "birthday steak" had changed (though they volunteered to honor the dollar-value of the previous promotion before we even looked at the menus). It wasn't a POOR experience, and the steaks were delicious, but there was a lot lacking in the experience. Regardless of the "birthday" we were celebrating, I expected better service and much better food from a restaurant in the same parent-group as Charley's, which was a favorite of mine in Orlando. This is certainly not a restaurant I would recommend.
The quality of beef can't be beat. Service is always excellent.
Great meal without spending 50+ a person
My server Elizabeth was great. The pork chops were seaoned just right as well as cooked the way we asked. I was disappointed that some items are gone from menu.
They have changed their menu and now don’t have as many items to choose from. They have taken away at least four or more appetizers. They are always raising their prices each additional time we go. The salad dressing keeps changing, when it was thicker it was super delicious. Now it is runny and not near as good. They have also changed the birthday steak to a crappy sirloin and the price is still the same as the cowgirl was when it was the birthday steak. They no longer have the dessert tray to carry around and those have even changed as well. Love going there, but it’s almost getting to the point where one can’t afford to go there.
always a great dining expierence. I will highly recommend to everyone I know
Thanks for your help, granddaughter had a great time and family enjoyed our seating, mother-in-law steak was under cooked but quickly taken care of. Will return on my birthday.
19th wedding anniversary dinner. One would've never guessed that on a Tuesday night we would need reservations however, they were only accepting reservations and we saw why; the place was packed. The food is great, our waitress was very knowledgeable, and the ambiance was really nice. We loved the menu options but buyer beware....no ranch dressing. Not that I was going to put it on any steak just that it would've been nice for the Cajun mushroom appetizer. Great restaurant and we'll definitely go back. We both ate the chef's special, 8 oz filet, with fresh crab and truffle butter, grilled asparagus, and choice of starch.
Awful, took over an hr on a Sunday night to get our food. Was told the food was dropped twice, finally when it came out it was cold not the right food and daughters hamburger was burnt. Order a special with crab meat topping which was missing manger took my plate back and threw the crab meat on the plate and brought it back out, it look old and terrible. Manger could only blame the kitchen for not doing their job. Never got refills on our drinks. We had to pay for our daughters hamburger since she took a bite out of it. The staff was all over the place table next to us didn’t get half their food over heard them say it was given to another table. Worst experience ever, we will not be coming back to this poor service.
Way too Expensive and I have had better sirloin at many other places
All the food was excellent. Our server was very personable. She had a great way with people.
Have been here 3 times in the past year...
Food isn't the issue. It's usually very good. Tonight my pork chops were amazing.
However, I will not be back due to the horrible service I have experienced here over and over again. Tonight was the worst.
I swear the waitress was going to feed the people behind us at one point while we waited over 20 minutes to even ask us what we wanted to drink. She kept apologizing to us as she passed our table, but never took care of us. She kept going to the same table behind us to take care of them and ignored us and another couple.
No manager ever came over to our table to ask if we were OK. Even when he passed us 4 different times, he could see we had no drinks and wasn't served. Still ignored us and looked the opposite way.
Horrible service and sorry management!!!
Lovely place, as long as you can afford it. You definitely get your money's worth, though, as far as quality and quantity. Wait staff was superb as well.
Watched tables get served who arrived after us. Our waiter was very slow and seemed stressed.
Husband's birthday dinner -I ordered a filet mignon medium - medium rare. When I received it, it was very rare. The server saw that I had pushed it to the side of my plate (as I was not going to send it back) however, she reported this to the manager (something about policy) and he insisted I send it back even against my better judgement. They took my entire plate, potato and broccoli and when my plate was returned the steak was extremely well done and the funniest part, more than half of the steak was missing, along with my potato and broccoli. I declined the over well steak as it was not edible in my opinion and I asked what happened to my potato and broccoli. The server eventually brought me half of an uncooked head of broccoli and a tiny baked potato much smaller than the original one served with my meal. I think there was more butter on there than potato. I guess that's what you get when you send under cooked food back.
The server quickly informed me that since we were there celebrating my husbands birthday, his meal would have to be added to another party's check at the table though not sure why, my sister agreed. When she received the check, my husbands "free birthday steak was added" my "removed" steak was added plus 18% gratuity on the original total. The server reluctantly took the check back to apply the birthday credit and remove the charge for the food that I never received cooked to order but she didn't remove it, she applied a "credit" after the gratuity charge was calculated on the original amount. I questioned this wondering why my steak was on the check at all but she quickly informed me that is policy and that gratuity is charged on the original amount of the check. I feel there is a serious flaw in that process and I will not be back. I hope my husband will also reconsider having his company luncheons and Christmas party's at this establishment if that is the way they do business.
Our server, Elizabeth, was very attentive and pleasant/upbeat. The complimentary potato soup was fun -- very good, salads excellent, and filets tender. They were not a true medium rare that we ordered, but more a medium so next time we'd probably send them back for a re-do.
Chocolate cake was obscenely delicious.
Great birthday celebration and apprciated the return to alternatives for the birthday person. Thank you.
Had a lovely dinner with my little one. Always a pleasurable experience.
We have really enjoyed our dining experiences so far at Texas Cattle Company. We have gone for several family occasions, and some date nights as well. We love the quality steaks, and are spoiled now from eating there!
Everything was Perfect..timely manner...courteous...greeting...steak Awesome...Our waiter Phillip was Excellent server
I made reservations well in advance was seated some 30 minutes past reservation time..... the server was so overwhelmed could not keep up with drinks or anything else..... the food inexplicably awful.... price outrageous for the horrible nature of the food..... I am always willing to pay good money for good food..... I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone you can get better service and better food at Mcdonalds..... To add a note I have family that are servers and I understand how they can be overwhelmed but this was absolutely ridiculous and I can even tolerate poor service when the food is good please ignore all the other reviews and pay attention to this one.... I've spoken to several people who have eaten at the restaurant in recent months and unfortunately I didn't talk to them before I went to the restaurant or I would have never gone wasted money wasted a date was awful
The place was noisy could use a remodel and parking was bad .The food is good and so is the service but it was so cold i felt like a popsicle and really over priced
When we were seated, there was the odor of sewer gas that lingered some time before it abated. I didn’t care for the smokey flavor on my steak which was tough. My mashed potatoes were barely warm so I asked for a baked potato which was better. The appetizer mushrooms and the desserts were to die for but was disappointed in my entree.
It took a long time to get our food. The server said that the kitchen was backed up
I had a really nice birthday dinner.
Great time with friends, great food and great wine
This was a surprise for my husbands birthday. There were 7 in our party. The service was amazing the food was amazing. The presence of every one serving was smiling faces. Bathrooms were well taken care of. The cake was superb. I would recommend to any one. Thank you.
We had a party of 9 and was well taken care of. Food was perfect. Highly recommend.
