Great food, very nice atmosphere. Awesome service! Thank you
Once again, a great dining experience! We will definitely be back soon. I tried a frozen raspberry margarita. That is now my favorite.
I also like being able to make reservations on Open Table.
The food was very very bland I’m really not tasty at all probably won’t come back
My husband had a taste for shrimp tacos, and after a brief online search, we found this place...and boy did it not disappoint! We started with the scallops appetizer special to share. Then we ordered taco platters: he had the shrimp and I ordered the fish. We were both very pleased. Oh, how could I forget the margaritas?! So many flavors to choose from...delicious!! Our server, Michael, was attentive, but in no way overbearing. It was an unplanned, great time. We definitely plan to return for Soulful Tuesdays: $2 tacos and $5 margaritas:-)
Would not go back. Big chunks of hard fat in my pulled pork tacos and really no meat. Prices too high for the small amount you get.
We love Tex Mex, the food is always amazing, service is always great. Drinks are perfect! Restaurant is always clean! We come on date night, come with our children, and we come to celebrate birthdays!
We always go there especially for a special occasion!! Super margaritas!!
It took over a year of living in the neighborhood before we decided to give this place a chance. I don’t know why, but my expectations weren’t very high. I was blown away by the food quality, creativity, presentation, and friendly service. I give this place 5 stars.
Consistantly prepared food, best margaritas, fantastic service, great atmosphere. Best Tex-Mex style restaurant around. Been going for years and will continue to do so! Bar also has great atmosphere.
Enjoyable good food and drinks great service clean
Always GREAT food and experience......!
Tex Mex was fantastic. The food was great and the Margarita were even better. The service was good as always. The Mother’s Day gift was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Will definitely return and would highly recommend to others.
Nice. For Mother’s day
This is a great place overall and we were well taken care of, but the food isn’t good. Portion sizes are way too big and the food itself is very bland and stodgy. Cocktails are awesome, staff friendly and atmosphere lively. Just let down by such mediocre food.
Our waiter was great. The food was fresh and flavorful. Been here several times and have left satisfied each time. The frozen margaritas are super.
We came here for Cinco de Mayo and was not disappointed. We love coming here for lunch and dinner and couldn't think of a better place to come.
Cinco de Mayo begs for great margaritas......so our thoughts turn naturally to Tex Mex.
Reservations were for 8:30 p.m.......we all were on time and we were seated by 8:40.....great for a busy night like May 5th.
Food good as always (even those that don't favor "Mexican" food, enjoyed their selections).....Margaritas were superb......as they say, "A good time was had by all"
I took my daughter here for her birthday. Of course being Cinco De Mayo, it was crazy busy, but this made for an exciting time. Although it was very packed, the wait was not long for our drinks and food. And even though there were people waiting, we never felt rushed. After dinner, we joined the Tiki Party going on outside! Another enjoyable evening at TexMex!
We didn't have to wait to be seated. Our waiter was nice and our food was delicious. Margarita drinks are fabulous!
Tex Mex is fine. Tonight we had great service, very good food and a very lively atmosphere.
Best Tex Mex food in Montgomery County
Tex Mex is a our go-to Mexican restaurant for casual dining and decent food. Prices are ok. Portions are smaller, but that is a good thing. In the past, you got so much you couldn't finish it. We usually went for the chips and salsa and great margaritas. Margaritas are still good but the chips have changed and they are thin and lack flavor. Salsa is still good.
The veggie burrito was very good but the chicken chimicanga was very hard and not very good to taste-not much of a taste. The taco platter with chicken and pork was very good.
While Tex Mex used to be the Mexican restaurant we raved about, I think it has dropped a level to more like a bar food Mexican. If you want really good Mexican food, there are plenty of other options.
Food was good, service was okay, as the waitress was quite abrasive. However, she the food was delivered as ordered and she was quite attentive, just not pleasant.
Love this place!!
As always a lovely, delicious meal at Tex Mex! Brent & Mary are great servers!! Wednesday is triple for the price of a double combination dinner. I had 1 spiced beef hard taco, 1 chicken soft and a spiced beef soft taco for $10.00. Hubby had a chile relleno, a chimichanga and an enchilada for $11.00!! Their salsa, chips and margaritas are the best I've ever had!!
Fantastic as always. Food was delicious and the restaurant was very accommodating when our party of 13 somehow managed to double due to changing collected rsvp. Highly recommend
Great sale on kid’s meals
We both ordered fajitas. I had shrimp and steak, my daughter had chicken. They were tasty and cooked perfectly. The sides were fresh and well prepared. Our server Mark did a super job.
Normally we very happily go and eat at Tex Mex. This visit was okay at best. My drink order was partially spilled by the waitress who was in a hurry to put it down in a forest of plates, chips, salsa, etc. Some part of my margarita ended up on the table. My drink wasn't replaced or refilled and I'm not sure that we even heard an apology. I know I didn't spill the drink. The waitress was in a hurry and tried to wipe it up though this part of the table wasn't dry. The waitress was very efficient in providing our meals but did so with ruthless efficiency and no personality/enjoyment. It really was a job. We've gone to this restaurant many, many times and have taken an interest in the staff who represent a professionalism but with personality. This was totally absent from our meal.
Always great food. Great margaritas!
Very Underwhelming experience with the food and service. It has been at least 6 months since we last visited TMC and all I can say is they have gone downhill with the food and service. I had the fajitas which came out in typical iron skillet but was not sizzling and everything sat warm in liquid at the bottom of the skillet. Flavors were lacking, and just not up to par with what we are used to. My wife had the fish tacos which she said were ok, but fish pieces were much smaller and they tried to make up for it by adding extra everything else.
The service was also lacking, which can be intermittent and almost expected here . There were only (2) servers for the entire restaurant. We came on a Monday @ 6:15, and they were holding their own until it got busy and the server forgot our salads and just lagging trying to keep up. It was unfortunate and certainly not the servers fault - they were just trying to keep up.
We will be taking this one off our list for now.. not willing to risk what can only be explained as an underwhelming meal :(
There was 12 of us and we are a loud group. The waitress was very busy with several tables , but she was on point. As always we had a great experience . Our table was ready when we got there, our waitress was great, the food was excellent!!
Great mexican cuisine. Well known for its margaritas (and they have many to choose from). Try the prickly pear on the rocks. Always refreshing.
What happened? Food used to be really good. Ordered the baby back ribs and not only were they not baby back ribs, they were dry and tough. Angels on Horseback (bacon wrapped scallops) were like rubber. The table ordered the 7 layer dip with chips and it was mostly scallions and cheddar cheese. Scallions piled about 2 inches high covering a pile of shredded cheese. Proportions were way off. I didn't even taste the other 5 layers. What a let down! I used to love this place.
My husband & I came here for his birthday, & as always, everything was delicious! The chimichangas & cheesecake flan are fabulous! We have yet to have any kind of negative experience when we come here.
Great food and service, but be careful where you park, almost got towed.
Great Tex-Mex restaurant with unique preparations and culinary skill. Ribs were great as was the crab enchiladas and chili.
Servers spread too thin - must have been short staffed. My enchiladas had no taste, just spice and they were dry. Won't be back any time soon.
My husband and I made a reservation. When we arrived, the place was rather empty, but they placed us in a table right in the walkway between the kitchen and the dining area? My bad for not vocalizing to be sat in a less annoying location. The drinks we ordered were ok. We ordered one of the specials, the appetizer, Chicken Carnitas. The chicken tasted like it was microwaved and the sauce, so bland (I would not order again). I preferred the free chips and salsa (which was nice). For dinner, I ordered the spicy fried chicken. The skin was soggy. But the chicken was cooked very well. Unfortunately removing the soggy skin, you removed the Frank's Hot Sauce. The mash was ok, once you got passed the congealed top. My husband's meal...eh. The location is convenient, so I would go for drinks and appetizers. But for a date night or nice evening out, I'd probably choose a different place. We've been here in the past and it's been ok.....maybe this was just a really off night?
We had an enjoyable evening with our friends that we haven’t seen for a while
