Our waitress was amazing and the food was bomb

It was a pretty good experience overall. The food was decent and our server was very helpful. Downtown restaurants are hurting, I would encourage everyone to go out and support them.

The experience was as awesome as always I’ve been going there since the mid 90s never ever had a bad experience the owners and staff are absolutely wonderful take care of every detail and focus on customer satisfaction to the nth degree. A very wonderful unique and special environment I would recommend to anyone.

Kyle was awesome! Everything tasted wonderful. We had a great experience. The atmosphere was a perfect German Beer Garden experience.

My family has been coming here since at least 2016. This is the place to go for German cuisine and beer in San Jose. This restaurant has a very nice outdoor dining area in the back of the restaurant that blocks the traffic noise and is very relaxing. The owner and waitress were all very friendly and attentive. Will be coming back soon!

As always, we had the best time at Teske's with their delicious food, great cocktails and wonderful draft German beers! Cynthia's Fried Chicken is worth the visit by itself. This time, though, we were very pleasantly treated to Creamed Herring, Carpaccio platter and a new starter with Burrata cheese and Pesto! Tremendous!

Great hospitality, friendly welcome. German menu is excellent, beer is great! Outdoor dining space is beautiful, lots of heaters in the evening. Very busy, would advise to book in advance.

Their food and ambience was wonderful as always. I had the Wienerschnitzel and potato salad and my son and everyone else had the Goulash, everyone raved about the food. Desert of Schwarzwald Kirche tort was awesome finished off with Escorial Grun at the end. I've been going there since 1994, place is terrific, definitely recommend it.

Valentine’s Day special menu was great and outdoor dining in beer garden was very nice.

The service and ambiance was fantastic. Our server, Kyle, was very attentive and on top of things. The food was great too! I think it would be fun to have some old German folk music in the background. Not too loud, but played softly.

Went there for Valentine’s Day. Their courtyard was really quiet and warm with the heat lamps set up. Their staff are also very friendly and made you feel right at home

Servers not wearing masks consistently

Very good beef and pork German fare, with chicken and salmon on the menu for the non-red meat lovers. Sausages excellent, sauerbratten good flavor not as tender as we hoped, generous slice of schnitzel. Lamb shank perfectly tender and great flavor. Couscous came with the lamb; was not expected as a German side, was none-the-less excellent with a nice sauce and tender baby asparagus. Strudel was great. All washed down with a very nice pilsner. Service attentive. Seating on the outdoor patio, plenty of heat sources.

Great german food and great ambience combined. We were visiting the first day after the rain protection for the patio was up (it wasn't raining the evening we were dining). Always a great atmosphere with welcoming hosts.

We had a great time. Lovely backyard style outdoor seating with no cover. Several heaters (a little to far from us to really help - we were in the far corner). This has been our xmas tradition and we were thrilled we got to go before the restaurant was forced to close.

The outdoor dining patio is absolutely wonderful. They have warmers to keep you comfortable so you don't get too cold.

With the COVID 19 restrictions, we were happy to sit in the patio and had the place to ourselves. The heaters kept us comfortable and the cool evening made it feel like an Octoberfest celebration. I thoroughly enjoyed the beer, appetizers, main course and great desserts. This San Jose classic continues to be a great spot for any time of the year! Cheers!!!

One of our favorite restaurants in the area. I'm always excited to try out any new German restaurants I come across, but they never stack up to Teske's. We make our way here at least twice a month. Great food and great service. Try the onion pie if they're serving it!

Food and service were great. We sat inside with plenty of space between us and the other diners. It was a little cold because the door was open that leads onto the patio. That was okay because we thought that was safer to have the air moving around. We wanted to sit outside in the Bier Garten, but even with space heaters, it was chilly out there. I had the smoked porkchop and it was huge and delicious! I'm very glad we had a reservation with OpenTable as they seated us right away.

Amazing beer, food, and service ! Definitely going back!

It was wonderful to be back at the restaurant to enjoy the food and beer in the outdoor patio setting. We ordered the jalapeño cheese pretzel which came hot and delicious accompanied with the Hefeweizen beer. The entrees are served a la carte (pre-Covid, entree included soup, salad and dessert), which we appreciated as we were able to try their new salads - light and scrumptious. The salads are large enough to share. We ordered our usual Jaegersnitzel (breaded pork cutlet) with the mouth watering mushroom sauce and noodles, which did not disappoint. Of course, we had to leave room for their famous apple strudel and Black Forest cake. We had a fabulous meal and the staff is friendly and attentive. We can’t wait to return again soon!

People allowed to smoke on the patio, but waiter did not ask if we were okay with it. Waiter forgot 2 orders. She honestly seemed overworked and therefore service was lacking.

We came at 2100 and ordered at 2120. They said the kitchen closes at 2130. I guess service is really busy when the kitchen is going to close, therefore 1. Have more staff work the last hour 2. Change the time when the kitchen closes.

Our family has been coming here for years. So glad they are able to open in the bier garten. Great food, and great times!

Very nice and authentic German restaurant; many of the service personnel speaks German. Good selection of German liquors and spirits. Beer selection is good too, but more on the conventional side.
Very friendly staff, and tasty, authentic food.
