They brought all the food out in less than 10 minutes. It was very rushed and not an ideal dining experience. It's not the first time it's happened here either.
This restaurant isn’t not about he customer...it’s about the restaurant dictating how you ought to eat. It’s their trademark. You are eating Italian so, go somewhere else if you want, for example, a proper gin martini before your pasta. They simply have no idea how to do this. Let’s say you want gluten free bread....forgeddabouit.
This is my always go to place. Due to some food allergies, it would be nice to request some ingredients be left out but there is an arrogant 'no way' policy that smacks of bad service. I understand the chef 'thinks' he knows best but personally I know what I can and cannot eat, namely garlic - Terroni is not near a Michelin rated restaurant where garlic isn't relied on so for creative gastronomic perfection. Thankful for my other Italian spots in town that are more sympathetic, compassionate and cusromerservice focused.
Generally I'd give any of the Terroni locations four and half overall, but on this occasion, there was a screaming child that went on intermittently for an hour to point that other diners were complaining amongst themselves. I'm all for kid friendly places, but this was just too much. That combined with an efficient but rather surly server (when Terroni opened on Queen West thirty years ago, they had nothing but surly servers :)), made for a not great experience.
Birthday for my sister- so yummy and our server was top notch!
Although I found my meal to be relatively tasty, the amount of seafood in my Soaghetti in Canna a Mare was absolutely RIDICULOUS...ONE shrimp, TWO tiny scallops, FOUR small squid rings, ONE clam, ONE mussel....REALLY???
I won't be returning. I hate the feeling of being ripped off.
Very tasty lunch offerings and a pleasant, warm environment for a business lunch. Restaurant was not too busy at noon on this weekday and so the atmosphere was conducive to conversation, with cheerful service. I’m sure it gets louder as the place fills up for the dinner hour. Would return.
Great family friendly restaurant if you go for the 5 PM time slot! Awesome for date nights if you go later. Can’t go wrong with this gem.
Great food , we went for our anniversary - just wish we weren’t seated next to a family with children running around as it affected the atmosphere
We frequent this restaurant regularly and were disappointed especially by the service. We had a waiter with attitude. He didn't offer us any bread or tell us the specials of the eveing and when I asked for their hot oil he didn't even acknowledge the request. We had to call upon the runner to order more drinks. It was my daughter's birthday and the restaurant knew it. The event was nothing special. No candle, no happy birthday...NOTHING! Meanwhile, another waiter was singing happy birthday with their table. It was truly disappointing and we've been going since it opened. We won't be going back anytime soon...at least not to that location.
I've been to other Terroni locations and decided to try this one: it didn't disappoint... we had a great lunch! Thank you.
The Rosedale crowd bring their young kids en masse and staff doesn't seat them away front the adults without the small ones. Chuckie Cheese might be a better place for noisy restless children. Pay a lot for the meal to be drowned out by fork banging kids.
Food is good, pizza thin and crispy. The restaurant tries to come across as upscale true Italian, only Italian wines served. Prices reflect the effort at higher end. Soup, pizza and lowest priced wine plus tip ran around $75 bucks.
As always, dinner was excellent. Food was delicious, staff were great and lots of opportunity for comfortable conversation with friends.
Great service however I do find it loud at this restaurant which makes conversation difficult.
Consistently good food. Never miss enjoying our favourite Toronto salad....the Funghi Assoluti. Always better in the shoulder times of day regarding noise levels which can be extreme during busiest times. Courteous and professional service.
Good experience, recommended. Always go back. Liked all locations I tried.
I love the pizza. Lots of choice in terms of pizza or pasta. Very busy spot so must have a reservation. We were there at 6:00 on a Friday night. Next available reservation was 8:45. It was noisy and lots of families at that time. Asked the server for wine recommendation, he suggested a glass that was $21.00! A bit steep for me, even though it was my birthday.
Terroni's is a Toronto landmark, and a restaurant I visit regularly at all times and on many different occasions. My kids request it when they visit Toronto. My friends and in-laws who I've treated there always ask to go back. And regardless of season or menu updates, I'm there every couple of weeks - in a multiple of their locations.
The Terroni's on Yonge, near Summerhill, is great because it's got a lot of room for larger groups, which I'm often taking to the restaurant. You still need to book ahead as it's popular (earlier, the kid-crowds come out - which is great to see as I always brought mine when they were younger) and you will be waiting a while if you show up without a reservation.
The menu has great features. And fantastic dishes that we order every time without fail. Typically, it's the Calamari and meat/cheese platter. Then a feature salad of the Gugliosa. We share at least two spaghetti Limone's, which evaporates in front of our eyes. We change up the pizza orders depending on their features. Lots of choice between spicy, traditional Margherita, and white pizza's. Desserts galore, but there's the affogato's as well and an Amara because I ate way too much.
Vegetarians have ample choices here. And the fact that you don't modify any dishes (always a key selling feature - respecting their menu) make it my favourite Toronto restaurant.
Perfect food and service as always.... Love Terroni..
Great food, my favorite Terroni location...its on the expensive side but definitely worth it!
great place with great food and service, very accommodating wait staff. pretty noisy place, but possible to get seated, if room permits, a bit out of the niise
The Terroni food is always reliably excellent. The service was superb and attentive and we were delighted with those aspects. However, the restaurant is far too noisy and I felt like I was sitting in the neighbouring table, despite a small gap. Granted, it was a Sunday night and the place was full of families, but some additional acoustical treatment in the ceilings would not go amiss.
Awesome service and food
Lovely accommodating staff and service. Always a beautiful, meal that takes us back to bologna or Firenze. Grazie Mille, amici. A presto.
Excellent as always! We love this place and it’s a no fail go to of ours in Toronto that we just can’t tire of!
One of my favorite restaurants usually, but not this night. Waiter was uninterested in serving us, had to ask several times for another drink and he didnt appear to be interested in being at work period. The food was lukewarm at best as well. Both pastas were almost cold by the time they were delivered. Super disappointing overall.
Terroni never lets us down. Great service, reliable food. The DJ even played all of our (ridiculous) requests. If anything can be criticized it is the fact that the full experience was less than an hour. Very fast. But great!
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend, and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. The waitress was really great, and the food didn't look like it would be filling, but I was so full by the end! Would definitely go again to try the rest of the menu.
Terroni on Queen St has always been one of my favorite's. This was my first time at Terroni at Yonge and Price st and I LOVED it. Beautiful restaurant. Very authentic Italian cuisine. Great for Valenntine's Day. I will def recommend and return.
This restaurant seem like a very popular place and didn't felt like it live up to the hype. Nothing bad about it, just a good Italian place like hundreds around the GTA.
Food was amazing and the service was great. The flourless chocolate cake was so mouthwatering, i would definitely go back.
Loved it! Can't wait to go back. The food was outstanding and our server was wonderful. The wine is a little pricey, but it was VERY good.
The server was angry, and inattentive. Quite unpleasant as we were just looking for a relaxing and easy meal after a busy day at work.. We have always enjoyed the vibe at Terroni but the service has declined.
Lots of kids and families out for dinner. Delicious food.
We had our mom + babe gathering here and it was fantastic! Moms got a chance to chat and babies got a chance to socialize!
The food is really great, but it was a bad choice for dinner with family (including seniors and children) on a Saturday night here. Server was rushed and not accessible, music was loud and got louder around 7pm making conversation nearly impossible where we were sitting.
The food was a solid 3/5 our waiter was extremely rude and impatient, he rushed us, and did not check on us once. Overall 3/5 get rid of the waiter!
