I requested a table for 8 where we wouldn't be crammed, and we were seated a long spacious table by the window. Amazing food, and amazing service. I have seen some reviews where the service was criticized but our server Mya was fantastic and so was the sommelier. The dessert was to die for and good wine selection. I was more than pleased with the experience. I would recommend this place again, great cozy atmosphere.
Not the level it used to be for food quality. The pizza I always get there is Salmone and it was cold; my friend ordered ravioli stuffed with zucchini and they were cold as well and they were not as soft or fresh tasting as they should have been. The waitress said they had been made the day before.
Food was great, atmosphere was fun and a wonderful spot for a birthday. The only negative was when we asked our server for marinara sauce for the calamari and she declined us. It was expensive enough that I didn’t think it was too much to ask...
Service was amazing. The waiter recommended a perfect wine for my meal. Great knowledge...
We found the food here really good and the service even better. However we were a party of size two, and were seated in a tight spot with very little room to move and Were quite uncomfortable. The noise also spoiled the ambience a little for us.
Only downside was I requested a table instead of a booth and we ended up getting a small booth that was uncomfortable. We rushed our dinner and went elsewhere for dessert.
We order the same thing every time and go to the same Terroni every time because it’s just so good.
Our server was absolutely fantastic, but I found my main dish (squash ravioli) underwhelming and bland.
Had a great time, the food was outstanding! Loved the lasagne, wow!
We ate at Terroni Queen last Saturday and it was excellent. The hostess greeted us and we were taken to our table upstairs. Our waitress was friendly and attentive she didn't miss a thing including the order we placed to go after dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Terroni always delivers a solid.
We visit Terroni when we are in the city and thoroughly enjoy the ambience, the food and the service.
Our bartender on Tuesday night was great! Very personable and all the right suggestions.
I have been going to Terroni since it opened.
I found the food not as good as in the past.
Food was really nothing special. I had the Sunday special, carbonara and it was way too salty. 2 others ordered the seafood pasta and it was just ok they said, nothing to get excited about. Would also be nice if this restaurant gave the option of having balsamic dressing with the bread and oil.. because bread and oil is a little bland. Also, I’ve never been to an Italian restaurant that doesn’t offer fresh parmigiana and black pepper for pasta dishes. Very odd. By this review you’d think I was extremely picky, but that’s not the case.. I’m usually very easy to please. I was just blown away by the lack of things this restaurant did not have compared to others I’ve been to. Anything we requested the waiter just said “we don’t offer that here”.. ok we’ll just go to the hundred of other Italian spots that do. Most likely won’t be back.
Terroni is one restaurant that consistently has excellent dishes and service. Our party of 4 enjoyed every dish we ordered. Two of our party had the Ravioli di Zio Paperone and we had 2 orders of the Frittura di Calamari and a Smendozzata Pizza. All of our dishes were beautifully prepared and delicious. For dessert we tried the Nutella rolls which were so delicious. They also have a great wine selection. There wine list is extensive. Would like to thank Simon for his excellent service. We loved his suggestions because we would not have tried the Nutella dessert if it wasn't for him suggesting it. His friendly and professional manner were appreciated. Looking forward to our next dinner at Terroni and hopefully we have Simon again as our server.
Pizza and pasta dishes were very tasty and delicious! Awesome warm nutella fritters served with ice cream nice way to end a meal!
Appetizer and entrees all came out together even though we specified we wanted our appetizer first. Server brought out oil for bread but bread never came. We had all our ordered food on the table within 15 minutes of sitting. Server came by maybe 3 times total throughout the meal. One pasta entree was cold to the touch. Server offered to replace it which was nice however not ideal seeing as I was finished my meal by the time my friend got hers. They cleared our appetizer before we were finished it. It was just a horrible experience all around. The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. I don't think I will be returning here and I cannot recommend it.
Great food and ambiance but felt very rushed. The server started to take plates away before we finish our meal.
It was okay. Nothing really stood out. However, our server was inattentive. It’s almost like her section was way too big for her.
Consistently good every time. Food always great, presentation always great, service always great
Eat here all the time. This visit I got sick to my stomach from. Was on toilet for
Good, but the Arugula and mushroom salad was too acid (too much lemon and not enough olive oil)...
The restaurant was too crowded to be comfortable. We sat between a railway and a walkway to an upper section. Servers had a hard time accessing their tables and as a result gave very poor/slow service. We were offered bread that never came. As my wine glass sat empty, a second glass was not offered so I asked for one... Our second round never came either. So we asked for the bill and left. Food was delicious... Too bad service and ambiance (terribly loud.. Too loud for a date/conversation) was sub par. Disappointed to say the least for our 8th wedding anniversary dinner.
this is good restaurant, but not average rather than exceptional. I highly recommend that you DROP you no balsamic vinegar with oil and bread policy. i know how i like my food and do not appreciate paying $200 for an evening to be treated like a child.
Good place, amazing food but a bit noisy. Don`t really recommend for a first date but for anything else. The wine menu is great too, but you will pay for it.
Food was pretty good, space is a bit tight.
I’m shocked at the fantastic reviews Terroni gets. This restaurant markets themselves as “high end” and “an experience” to a fault. They will not modify a meal for those with allergies, which is ludicrous in today’s society. If you know how to cook and use fresh ingredients as you state , you should be able to modify any meal if you are “high end”. Our waitress literally threw my friend (on her birthday) a gluten free and dairy free menu, telling her “see if anything works from these otherwise I have nothing”. Um. My friend simply asked for a meal that was topped with Parmesan, to simply not be topped with Parmesan so she wouldn’t get hives. The waitress could have framed “the experience” differently, helping my friend find options rather then throwing a menu at her. And how hard is it to NOT TOP WITH PARMESEAN. I ordered some olives and wine (delicious) and basic spaghetti, looking for that home made pasta with home made sauce that ‘soothes your soul’ meal in the winter. What I got was east side Mario quality pasta that tasted like shellfish, like they didn’t clean the pan. Unedible. I actually thought the sauce may have been rancid. The waitress never asked how the food was even though I ate two bites, and then picked up my plate and handed me the bill. With little Italy and all the other Italian options in this city, I can’t believe this place is such a hit. I guess people read the reviews, think it will be great, and have some self fulfilling prophecy moment that it actually is good when they go. If you want wine and olives, great, go to Terroni. If you want real Italian food that is edible, served by people who care about food and their patrons, go somewhere else. This place is definitely not the hype people make it out to be, and you will be disappointed.
Patient, attentive staff, great authentic food. One of my go to Italian places in Toronto.
Food and service is always on point. The back patio is awesome in the summer.
Great atmosphere. Great Pizza! Fun Crowd. Great service.
First time at Queen. Great neighborhood ambiance.
It was a great meal and great time!
Fabulous find for northern Italian food on Queen Street West. There is a lot of energy in this restaurant so if you are looking for somewhere quite and subdued this is not the place. We had the Tagliere Mezzo e Mezzo (cheeses and house cured meats) with a side of olives. Noticed an appetizer special for the day - olives that were breaded, deep fried & filled with veal and pork. They were divine and so nicely presented in a folder paper box. Our group had three different pastas - Cavatelli al Sugo D'Agnello, Tonnarelli alla Norcina & Pappardelle alla Iosa which were all delicious. For dessert make sure you have their butterscotch pudding and the molten lava cake with the white chocolate ganache. Would have a really tough time if I lived in this neighborhood - I would stop in daily and sit at the counter for dinner or lunch. Can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy their patio.
Unnecessarily over pretentious, for not being a 5 Star restaurant. they are not flexible of not presenting grated cheese to anything with seafood. I had seafood rissoto, and even though, being in an Italian family, I know its a faux paus for Italians to add cheese to seafood, they abosolutely refused my request, were pretentious and rude.
I was there celebrating my Daughter's and my Sister-in-Laws birthday, and server Oliver, just made the whole experience very uncomfortable and awkard with the back and forth, no cheese comments.
They do not have cinnamon at all for Latte. Linda the Manager also stated that Italians do not use cinnamon with lattes. Will never go back to any Terroni, and will let my family and friends know about their service.
With my seafood risotto left over (see photo), I added grated cheese at home! Delicious!
Extraordinary and genuine Italian cooking - and this is still one of the best in the world. Amazingly fresh and tasty products, cooked and assembled close to perfection.
Have a wonderful time at Terroni. Celebrating a special birthday, food was great, drinks were delicious and company outstanding. Service was exceptional.
Terrible welcome experience. Everything else was great. Not a nice host. Had to wait for our reservation without an explanation. (Reso was for 830, was seated at about 845, without explanation or apology)
Long waits and unfriendly service. The server was quite rude.
