Consistently good every time. Food always great, presentation always great, service always great
Eat here all the time. This visit I got sick to my stomach from. Was on toilet for
Good, but the Arugula and mushroom salad was too acid (too much lemon and not enough olive oil)...
The restaurant was too crowded to be comfortable. We sat between a railway and a walkway to an upper section. Servers had a hard time accessing their tables and as a result gave very poor/slow service. We were offered bread that never came. As my wine glass sat empty, a second glass was not offered so I asked for one... Our second round never came either. So we asked for the bill and left. Food was delicious... Too bad service and ambiance (terribly loud.. Too loud for a date/conversation) was sub par. Disappointed to say the least for our 8th wedding anniversary dinner.
this is good restaurant, but not average rather than exceptional. I highly recommend that you DROP you no balsamic vinegar with oil and bread policy. i know how i like my food and do not appreciate paying $200 for an evening to be treated like a child.
Good place, amazing food but a bit noisy. Don`t really recommend for a first date but for anything else. The wine menu is great too, but you will pay for it.
Food was pretty good, space is a bit tight.
I’m shocked at the fantastic reviews Terroni gets. This restaurant markets themselves as “high end” and “an experience” to a fault. They will not modify a meal for those with allergies, which is ludicrous in today’s society. If you know how to cook and use fresh ingredients as you state , you should be able to modify any meal if you are “high end”. Our waitress literally threw my friend (on her birthday) a gluten free and dairy free menu, telling her “see if anything works from these otherwise I have nothing”. Um. My friend simply asked for a meal that was topped with Parmesan, to simply not be topped with Parmesan so she wouldn’t get hives. The waitress could have framed “the experience” differently, helping my friend find options rather then throwing a menu at her. And how hard is it to NOT TOP WITH PARMESEAN. I ordered some olives and wine (delicious) and basic spaghetti, looking for that home made pasta with home made sauce that ‘soothes your soul’ meal in the winter. What I got was east side Mario quality pasta that tasted like shellfish, like they didn’t clean the pan. Unedible. I actually thought the sauce may have been rancid. The waitress never asked how the food was even though I ate two bites, and then picked up my plate and handed me the bill. With little Italy and all the other Italian options in this city, I can’t believe this place is such a hit. I guess people read the reviews, think it will be great, and have some self fulfilling prophecy moment that it actually is good when they go. If you want wine and olives, great, go to Terroni. If you want real Italian food that is edible, served by people who care about food and their patrons, go somewhere else. This place is definitely not the hype people make it out to be, and you will be disappointed.
Patient, attentive staff, great authentic food. One of my go to Italian places in Toronto.
Food and service is always on point. The back patio is awesome in the summer.
Great atmosphere. Great Pizza! Fun Crowd. Great service.
First time at Queen. Great neighborhood ambiance.
It was a great meal and great time!
Fabulous find for northern Italian food on Queen Street West. There is a lot of energy in this restaurant so if you are looking for somewhere quite and subdued this is not the place. We had the Tagliere Mezzo e Mezzo (cheeses and house cured meats) with a side of olives. Noticed an appetizer special for the day - olives that were breaded, deep fried & filled with veal and pork. They were divine and so nicely presented in a folder paper box. Our group had three different pastas - Cavatelli al Sugo D'Agnello, Tonnarelli alla Norcina & Pappardelle alla Iosa which were all delicious. For dessert make sure you have their butterscotch pudding and the molten lava cake with the white chocolate ganache. Would have a really tough time if I lived in this neighborhood - I would stop in daily and sit at the counter for dinner or lunch. Can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy their patio.
Unnecessarily over pretentious, for not being a 5 Star restaurant. they are not flexible of not presenting grated cheese to anything with seafood. I had seafood rissoto, and even though, being in an Italian family, I know its a faux paus for Italians to add cheese to seafood, they abosolutely refused my request, were pretentious and rude.
I was there celebrating my Daughter's and my Sister-in-Laws birthday, and server Oliver, just made the whole experience very uncomfortable and awkard with the back and forth, no cheese comments.
They do not have cinnamon at all for Latte. Linda the Manager also stated that Italians do not use cinnamon with lattes. Will never go back to any Terroni, and will let my family and friends know about their service.
With my seafood risotto left over (see photo), I added grated cheese at home! Delicious!
Extraordinary and genuine Italian cooking - and this is still one of the best in the world. Amazingly fresh and tasty products, cooked and assembled close to perfection.
Have a wonderful time at Terroni. Celebrating a special birthday, food was great, drinks were delicious and company outstanding. Service was exceptional.
Terrible welcome experience. Everything else was great. Not a nice host. Had to wait for our reservation without an explanation. (Reso was for 830, was seated at about 845, without explanation or apology)
Long waits and unfriendly service. The server was quite rude.
If you like Italian food, it’s a good place to go. Nice ambiance. Service to improve though...
Everything was fantastic as always. The only thing I wasn’t happy with was that I ordered a 2nd bottle of wine for the table and instead of bringing the bottle to me (a woman) to do the first taste, the server brought it to a man at the table instead. This rubbed me the wrong way.
Too loud and portions were too small but the food tasted great
Appetizers and mains were delish, we started with olives and bread, then had grilled calamari (a little too fishy tasting). Then we had the spaghetti di mare and cavatelli with lamb and both were really good. For dessert we had the fried nutella pastries which were heavenly and the tiramisu which was mediocre at best, it was really just a pot of mascarpone.
Amazing service and excellent food. Super fast and friendly sevice. Fantastic dining experience.
Great restaurant with amazing italian food !
The place was a bit crowded, but we would definitly go back for the high quality of the dishes.
Food was impeccable, full of flavour and great portion sizes. Service was very quick and attentive. Great location however, tight in space which made it hard to move around. Overall, great experience, will definitely come back!
Service wasn’t great, sharing pizza didn’t have pizza cutters. Customers had fun tho.
Food was good, but a little too salty. I requested a quieter spot when I made a reservation. This was not considered when we got our table. It was very noisy.
fine option if you're looking for a nice neighbourhood meal
It was too loud for an intimate dinner for two but best for groups.
It’s been a while since we have been here
Very disappointed in the quality of food , service and ambiance
Was good first time I came. Sauce was too acidic. Apps were meh...wine was good and the fried Nutella balls were great...
We had a group of 8 women and had a show to see at 8p.m. the staff was friendly fast and efficient. They brought out a wine expert and provided samples to our fussy group of women! The food was excellent, we will be back :)
We were send by friends
Fabulous in every way
Food is Devine
Everything was exquisite, from the service (friendly and super attentive) to the food (we exclaimed over everything - SO delicious). We don't know Italian wines very well, so they brought over a wine expert who chose, based on our tastes, a lovely wine that everyone liked. Great ambience, although by the time we left (at 8:30pm) the bigger groups were a bit loud for us, we had dessert but did not feel like lingering over coffee. We had two family members from the US who were very impressed, both birthday people were very happy - excellent night out. A lovely and festive place for a special occasion. Our go-to place.
The food wasn’t worth the price. I’ve had much better Italian food elsewhere.
The restaurant is incredibly organized and service was fantastic.
I love Terroni, but the noise level is really challenging when you are trying to have a conversation. But the food is amazing, so is the decor and the atmosphere. The patio on queen street is my favourite place in the city!
Family in town, sisters 40th bday
The service was especially great here -- our waitress -- Walker -- was extremely helpful and gave us room to breathe. Food was excellent! And Walker and the kitchen staff were especially mindful of my tree nut allergy as well. Thank you so much!
