Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    Great service, very good food. The only thing they missed for being an Italian restaurant is that the lemonchello is not served properly. It needs to be served in either a frozen glass or it should be frozen.

    We were a party of six seated on the highest level of the restaurant. I am not sure if people get the worst service up there but we certainly did. The food was cold and basic but the worst was the service. We will never go back as I hate wasting my money.

    Nice place! The prosciutto and fior di latte appetizer and the gnocchi were delicious!! The Rigatoni All'Amatriciana was good, but could be even better if it had more sauce. Good (but expensive) wine list. The Trio dessert was ok, somewhat flat in texture (only difference were the flavours). Pleasant ambience and great service! Our Anniversary celebration was recognized from the comment on the reservation, but no special treat was offered for the occasion.

    Terroni's never disappoints. The ambiance is excellent and the vibe is always good. Warm atmosphere and great food. Our service was absolutely great. Joey was attentive, funny and delightful. We were a tough crowd (of 3) but he handled us with grace. Thank you for a lovely evening, meal and libations.

    I decided on a whim to have my birthday dinner at Terroni and I am so glad I did. It was so simple to book, no nonsense. My large group of 14 had fantastic service from start to finish. The food was amazing and the drinks were perfect. The inside decor was gorgeous and honestly, would come back here for absolutely any reason. 10/10 night!!

    Overall experience was fine. Annoying that they don't have diet beverages for those with sugar issues. Overall food was above average. Ravioli was disappointing. I would come back. Note: No draft beer served on upper floors.

    Put us downstairs in the basement when the restaurant upstairs was pretty empty Food was cold. Mixed up our kids orders twice. Would not recommend or go back here.

    Very loud and space was tight and could barely fit at our chairs without hitting the next table. Food came out undercooked (not Al dente, could still taste the flour and inside of pasta was rock solid, and left a bitter taste). Service was average and one of the servers (not our main waiter, but one of the assistants) gave side attitude when dropping off food to the table as they could barely fit or reach into the table to drop off food, that’s how tight it was.

    What a great place. The food is amazing, service was fantastic. Only change I would change is the chairs they are very low and it was hard to sit and food. But all and all an amazing food for dinner

    I’ll start by saying that we love this place, and that’s why I chose to spend my birthday dinner here. The food was great as always. It came out 5 minutes after we ordered it, and it was hot and fresh. However, the service was quite disappointing. Our server was Ruth. It took about 10 minutes to be greeted after we were sat, and she didn’t apologize for the wait or acknowledge that we waited. She grabbed empty plates off the table directly beside us before greeting us. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time, and the food came out promptly. It took roughly 12 minutes to get our drinks, and when she came over to check on our food she didn’t acknowledge that we didn’t have our drinks yet, we had to point it out. The rest of our visit went okay, but she didn’t attempt to make conversation when we were paying, or ask if we were celebrating anything at the beginning. Just not a very hospitable experience, which is unexpected from a nice place like Terroni. Hopefully we will experience better service next time

    My wife and I have been to the other Terroni on Queen Street and decided to try this one on Adelaide. Unfortunately, we found it way too loud to even have a discussion and the chairs and tables was too close to each other. Several times during our meal I found one of these service elbows in my face, so great service, but no room to serve properly. The food is good, but you don’t get a lot of food for your money. So we will take a break for a while from this chain and go to discover others.

    I went out tonight with my parents to celebrate their anniversary and our server was so amazing!!! He was so attentive and was so knowledgeable in answering our drink and food inquiries. He knew a lot about all of the different regions and I definitely learnt a lot! Would 10000% come again.

    Very poor service. Waited half hour for a cocktail. Brought 3 out of the 4 dinners out. By the time the 4th dinner came the other 3 were finished eating. We come often…this was the worse experience ever. May need to consider other options going forward.

    The tables are so close together you can’t even have a private conversation. Food and portions were not worth the price. Felt extremely rushed and ended up going somewhere else to eat after 120 dollars for 2 basic pasta dishes.
