Terroirs is split between two levels. The street-level restaurant has some outdoor seating and a large bar that can seat up to 14 people, with a great view of the open kitchen.
The Cellar downstairs has very high ceilings and original brick walls, with an additional kitchen and bar area which hosts our regular wine tastings, visiting winemaker dinners, magnum parties and cellar cinema screenings.
This unique space is also available for private hire.
Great spot with a beguilingly simple menu - lots of unexpected dishes and divine Savarin cheese. Excellent variety of wines by the glass and helpful staff.
Menu is limited as always but choices are good and good quality is high and seems always improving. Wine choices are excellent and quality is very good. A real gem in central London.
Excellent choice of wine and well thought dishes.
Service was really good as well in a lovely atmosphere. There’s no air conditioning, so on a day like Friday we kind of missed it even if all the windows were open. Other than that, it has been a very good experience, so much that today we’ll try the sister Terroirs restaurant in Dulwich
Exquisite wine bar with lovely food and a very French and charming look. Nice charcuterie — enjoyed the salami and cornichons. Great atmosphere; was fairly full when we went.
Overall, an enjoyable dining experience. The food was excellent and authentic. The wine was pretty expensive for being a wine supplier based restaurant but some good bargains can be found just not as much as I would have liked to see. Service from the waitress and host were very welcoming and respectful but the bar staff had a bit of arrogance in conversation with us at times that dampened the evening a little...countering back to my colleague “I heard you the first time” when he enquired about food.
Very poor menu with little choice. Food was substandard and largely tasteless. Certainly won't be going back again.
A great lunch venue. A lively but comfortable wine bar/restaurant with excellent food and wine at very good value. The service is excellent too!
Like coming home. Simplicity and perfection. And wine that can teach you something new every time
Terroirs is one of my favourite eateries when I come into central London, however on a hot day it was quite trying, despite fans being on everywhere. The food was very nice and accompanied by a good glass of wine. the makerel was fresh and tasty. Good.
We had oysters, and some other small plates with a carafe of wine before the theatre. It was good but would like to go back to properly test
Terroirs is one of my favourite restaurants; it never disappoints and there is always something new on the menu that is worth trying.
I'm a huge natural wine fan and found this after a quick google search. It was exactly what I was looking for; food was amazing, wine was even better!
This really is a place to go for the atmosphere and the wine. The food selection is pretty limited, without a great deal of choice. Good for a quick lunch as long as you don't mind it being very noisy
Fantastic cod dish was the highlight of the evening.
Outstanding lunch before a matinee show - everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Of particular note were the friend Jerusalem artichokes with Goats curd & leeks....not to be missed.
Fantastic wines, great food, and friendly service. They moved us from where we initially sat for a more aerated table and less noisy, which was brilliant. Otherwise, it can be quite noisy, but well worth it!
Food was delicious... can highly recommend a selection of small plates - all of them really tasty. As with all quality restaurants, this place keeps choices to a minimum, but quality excellent. Wine and therefore the whole meal quite expensive- over £60 per head, but it wouldn’t stop me returning.
Would be nice to have a small choice of quality cocktails- say a long, short and a seasonal one, although I appreciate this place has a huge selection of quality wines.
Our waitress was very polite, helpful and efficient, and although we stayed for a long meal, never felt hurried by anyone, although towards the end, some dishes took a little longer.
Overall ambience very pleasant- better at the front than the back, which is a little dark.
Terroirs continues to be one of my trusted restaurants for entertaining. It's not just that food (bread is five-stars) and wine are excellent value for money, but staff are incredibly nice and helpful. This time, my favourite wine was not available but I was recommended one I didn't know and his now on my list for next time.
Great atmosphere, good service, good location. A limited dinner menu. Worth a visit.
The food and wine was good or very good as usual. However, our welcome, by the male member of staff, was peremptory at best and although we had asked on line for a table by the window, we were directed to a tiny table downstairs hemmed in by other tightly grouped tables. I asked for a table by the window as my guest is 6 foot 7 inches tall. Even if the on line message had not got through it didn't take a lot of thought to see that my guest might not be comfortable in the tight confines of the available table. Even an acknowledgement of the issue and a promise to find a better table if one became available would have been appreciated but it was as if we had not been noticed. The waitress was far more sensitive generally to myself and my guest responding to requests for advice/humour/etc. and generally exhibited some interpersonal skills. Sorry about the moan but we both independently noticed this.
Good value as always, good service! :)
Good, simple and delicious food, great, well-crafted wine and wonderful, individual and deft staff.
Close to the Harp. What’s not to like. A convenient spot near Charing Cross
Terroirs was having an off day. We went early and were not made to feel welcome. Our waiter was good & consideraré but the manager was noticeably brusque & rude with his team and customers including us. Not acceptable.
Love the food, the wine, the staff - Amazing as always, thank you x
Outstanding and extensive wine list. The food menu is small but changes regularly and the food is excellent
Small place, awesome food but can be a bit noisy at peak hours.
Amazing wine selection and very well balanced food offer. MUST go!
I love this place. The staff are always lovable , friendly and knowledgable. And the food is reliably excellent. My friends all claim that the natural wine includes some hangover insurance - may be. Or perhaps it’s just so good we took our time and drank less. I guess we’ll have to go back and find out.
My first time in a while and better than I remembered. Freshness & generous portion sizes!
Met with my sister and brother in law on a rare sojourn to London before going to the Sorolla exhibition at the National Gallery. Location great for both the exhibition and our hotel. We all enjoyed our meals hugely and would thoroughly recommend Just one small gripe My sister and hubby arrived ten minutes early and even though we had a booking and it was pelting with rain they had to wait outside but we got over it and a nice time anyway Cheese board was fab.
Would highly recommend this wine bar. Appetizers, wine, and service was stellar. I will be going back when I’m in London again.
I just love this place - staff, atmosphere, wine incredible! (I only didn't mention food this time, as we didn't eat - but the food is always amazing too :-))
I love this place but the enticing lunch menu (£12+ glass of ceillo bianco) has always run out by the time we arrive at precisely 1pm - no matter how full it is, or not, and difficult to come much earlier if working - and then the choice is tapas/cicchetti-like starters at £10 minimum-and one is not quite enough-or a main course for at least twice as much - bit of a trick!
Delicious meal with excellent service and good wine.
Disappointing. Have eaten here five or six times in the last year and it had been consistently outstanding. On this occasion three of the six dishes were poor and the serving staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers.
Good wine list, unfortunately teased by a bottle they didn't have. Food menu didn't do it for me, but is great if you just want to go for some wine & meats/cheeses. Loved the decor with all the wine posters and bottles. Good spot
Thanks for a great meal. We just came in for a quick pre theatre dinner, thanks for your fast service. It was a little gloomy at the back of the restaurant but we had a lovely time regardless. Good food.
Exceptional cooking, beautifully presented food with superb flavours. Best meal I’ve had in a while - faultless.
Excellent..good food, nice wine, lively, friendly and helpful staff and reasonable value. What’s not to like!
