Terrapin Creek Cafe & Restaurant
My husband and I go there for dinner whenever we are near Bodega Bay. The food is always excellent and we look forward to our dinner. The prices are not high for the quality.
Outstanding meal. A bottle of 2015 Emeritus Pinot noir, artisan bread w olive oil, scallops & octopus starters, grilled local king salmon entrees, cheesecake desert & French press coffee. All great flavor combinations, beautifully presented. Healthy & delicious, excellent service. Pleasant drive in scattered showers because little traffic, picturesque countryside with everything green, still daylight on return trip.
We heard about Terrapin Creek Cafe in Bodega Bay and were excited to try it . We absolutely loved it! The duck breast I had was spectacular! We all tried a different dessert and my favorite was the chocolate cake! I give it an A+!
Terrapin Creek was the highlight of our trip to Sonoma. The staff did not rush our experience. All of the seafood selections were delicious and extremely fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys high end food, at fair prices. They also have an excellent selection of local wines.
Incredible food and staff. The Crudo is off the charts as in the Caesar and Pasta. If you are anywhere close to this place you must go.
Most incredible food I’ve had. Just bummed that I’m from Virginia and can’t go back again.
We had such a wonderful experience enjoying Mother's Day dinner. The service was friendly and responsive, the food came out with perfect timing, and recommendations were offered when asked. The food was out of this world delicious! Seriously, it was the best food I have had in a very long time, and we travel for food! Everything was cooked to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. The wine selection covered all the bases with great options. This is a must try for the area, and worth a drive just to try it out!
Thank you! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The starters were exceptional from presentation to the last bite of our soon emptied plates - the asparagus salad, and the octopus/ cauliflower salad had delicious combinations of fresh produce, fresh herbs and greens, lovely range of inviting textures and smells. The gnocchi were perfect little gems of potato dumplings with warm rich walnut pesto and braised beef, and baby fresh garbanzo beans. The scallops were also seared perfectly. Creme of mushroom soup - ultimate rich, soothing comfort for the soul!
Our server was exceptional - attentive, with a great playful sense of humor!
I am a frequent diner at Terrapin, and am always amazed at the uniform quality of their food. They seem never to have an off night. Consistency, subtle flavors and wonderful taste combinations are basic elements to every dish. You won't find towering sculptural creations, only incredibly well thought out and beautifully presented dishes to please the most demanding palate.
We were celebrating an anniversary and had the most fabulous food delivered with impeccable service.
Still on the top of our favorites list for all of the obvious reasons.
ANDREW and his staff never disappoint. The food is exquisite and everything is served beautifully.
We never miss a chance to dine here. This time we had the mushroom soup that was to die for, spectacular
Ceasar Salad and then I had the Gnocchi appetizer as my entree - PERFECT!! There is not a bad meal on
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. We will definitely dine there again next time we are in Bodega Bay.
Waiter was Excellent. Food was delicious. Could actually talk at the table without yelling. Restaurant is quaint not very big. Parking is good.
Excellence on every level! What a GEM of a find
Excellent food. Knowledgable server. We very much enjoyed our dinner at Terrapin Creek Cafe! Highly recommend it.
Though the sauces were good there were so many ingredients in each dish it was hard to taste the actual main ingredients. Very pricey for what you get. I do not mind paying for pricey but $34 for regular bass, and it was over cooked. It was so noisy in there people were shouting to be heard. I could not get out of their fast enough.
As always it was a wonderful dining experience. The mushroom soup which I had never tried before was delicious.
The chef is amazing - on the level of French Laundry - but at a fraction of the price! Wonderful servers - great presence without being invasive. Beautiful drive to and from Bodega Bay
Wonderful we always stop in when on the coast
Always love the food at Terrapin Creek and they have a very nice wine selection.
The table this time was not my favorite for making a reservation and not walking in, so might consider calling and not using Open Table to do so.
A gentleman who I believe there was talking to the chief for a very long time very loudly while we dined. I found him to be disrespectful of others around who were trying to have a nice quiet dinner.
The food is outstanding. Creative and local. The servers are attentive but the overall service is very Slooow.
Delicious quail with wild rice and green beans. Duck breast tender and juicy as always. Great veggie and asparagus salads. Divine coconut panna cotta!
Food and staff were excellent. The restaurant is small so the noise level can be a little high. I will be going back! Very enjoyable.
There are many great places to eat in Sonoma County but only one choice for exceptional cuisine in Bodega Bay, and that's Terrapin Creek. There is no confusion about why this restaurant is listed in the prestigious Michelin Guide. Liya Lin and Andrew Truong and their top-notch staff make everyone feel welcome. The food is fresh, mouthwateringly flavorful, creative and beautifully plated. This is a very popular place so make a reservation. Eating at Terrapin Creek is an experience not to be missed ... and neither is their cheesecake!
Dining at Terrapin Creek was terrific and deserving a Michelin star! We were a party of 4 celebrating a birthday. We shared 2 appetizers - scallops/frisée with a roasted red pepper aioli which was delicious and octopus/slivered almonds. My entree was quail with wild rice and green beans which was exceptional. Rest of party had duck with bulgur/carrots which they enjoyed. For dessert we shared a panna cotta with passion fruit, red orange, mint sauce. Our meals were cooked with love. Service was well executed in a teamwork manner. We loved our dining experience and shall return.
Just the thought of the duck breast makes my mouth water. Crispy skin, pink moist meat, flavor delicious. Perfect!
A gem that should not be missed. Incredible fish and scallop dishes; light but complex flavor profiles
Everything offered on their menu is so wonderful it's difficult to choose! The Shaved Salad...the Mushroom Soup...the Gnocchi...the Fish...and Desserts! And, that's all I could do for one evening.
They have an awesome kitchen staff, wait staff and they make you feel special. Delicious describes
EVERYTHING in this restaurant.
Great service and food.
Fresh fish and homemade pasta with lamb were excellent.
In my opinion Terrapin Creek is the best restaurant in Sonoma County. While their menu isn't overly large, everything on it is always made to perfection. I tell everyone it's worth the drive to Bodega Bay!
Love, Love, Love!
I love the relaxed feel of this restaurant, especially ambience of the fireplace. The service is absolutely wonderful, and the food impeccable. The chopped vegetable salad with blue cheese dressing was a light and delicious first course. For the main course, I ordered the steak (cooked perfectly) with a wonderful Bordelaise sauce. Our server recommended the Sangiovese wine which had a deep fruit-forward flavor (cherries) that marvelously complimented the steak. Cheesecake was the heavenly end to a flawless meal.
The scallop appetizer was truly outstanding. Nice ambience and friendly service.
They get it right every single time! Delicious food, delicious ambiance and delicious service.
This restaurant is awesome. Every dish hot and meticulously prepared and tasty. The whole group loved everything and staff was very attentive. Do not miss this place if you are anywhere near the coast.
It’s started with Liya (co-owner)meeting us at the door, then saying hello to Andrew(co-owner)who was cooking, very friendly. Liya walked us to our table and we had a little catch up with her. We have been going their for about eight years. Have always enjoyed the experience. The food is amazing, the best thing is the panna cotta. The flavor is unbelievable, I hate passion fruit. It has passion fruit sauce with grapefruit segments which I normally despise. It is a masterpiece. The duck is wonderful also, very tender and flavorful. Actually just close your eyes and point at the menu, you won’t be disappointed. The wait staff are very knowledgeable, and very attentive.
Wonderful food, friendly and accommodating staff. We had the pasta with lamb sausage and a salad. - Very tasty! Also had dessert and it was excellent. We recommend the Terrapin Creek Cafe to everyone we meet who’s visiting Bodega Bay!
