I love the relaxed feel of this restaurant, especially ambience of the fireplace. The service is absolutely wonderful, and the food impeccable. The chopped vegetable salad with blue cheese dressing was a light and delicious first course. For the main course, I ordered the steak (cooked perfectly) with a wonderful Bordelaise sauce. Our server recommended the Sangiovese wine which had a deep fruit-forward flavor (cherries) that marvelously complimented the steak. Cheesecake was the heavenly end to a flawless meal.

It’s started with Liya (co-owner)meeting us at the door, then saying hello to Andrew(co-owner)who was cooking, very friendly. Liya walked us to our table and we had a little catch up with her. We have been going their for about eight years. Have always enjoyed the experience. The food is amazing, the best thing is the panna cotta. The flavor is unbelievable, I hate passion fruit. It has passion fruit sauce with grapefruit segments which I normally despise. It is a masterpiece. The duck is wonderful also, very tender and flavorful. Actually just close your eyes and point at the menu, you won’t be disappointed. The wait staff are very knowledgeable, and very attentive.

No wonder diners travel nearly two hours from San Francisco to dine at this cozy eatery in Bodega Bay. The food is exquisite, using only locally sourced ingredients. There are only five entrees per night, adjusted seasonally. The seafood choices, including a lovely Hamachi Crudo appetizer, are top-notch, but don't ignore land-based tastes, either — the Liberty Farms duck breast and a recent addition of succulent quail are simply incredible. The wine list offers no sour notes that we could discern; it's strong, just as you'd expect from a Sonoma County restaurant. A don't-miss if you're heading up the NorCal coast.

My husband and I have loved every visit to Terrapin Creek and our most recent dinner there was as perfect as ever. I appreciate the kitchen using the best ingredients and knowing how to prepare them so well. Oysters were plump and creamy, very flavorful. Bread was amazing, along with good quality olive oil. Mushroom soup was tastily complex and even served nice and hot (a rarity in most restaurants). Sea bass and quail dishes spot on and, as always their cake is the best - not too sweet, with a perfect crumb.

It was my birthday, everything was wonderful. The service was great, foods was amazing. I ordered the panna cotta for desert, and they brought out an extra piece of cheesecake with a candle. Very nice. The panna cotta is out of this world. Have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed

Another outstanding visit -- Terrapin continues to shine with flavorful, interesting dishes and a-one service. The lamb sausage pasta and the duck breast just sang "eat me!" This was coupled with attentive, caring service by very knowledgeable servers made this visit another reason to continue to patronize this Bodega Bay jewel.

Excellent dining experience. From the greeting when you walk in to the end of the evening it is hands down one of the best places to enjoy a evening out. The waiter was excellent and recommended wine that everyone at the table enjoyed. The food is always equistitly prepared and each bite is a taste sensation. Terrapin Creek Cafe is tops on my list for exceptional Sonoma County dining. I always recommend this Resturant to friends.

We drive up from Oakland to dine at Terrapin. Superb, well seasoned rib eye,
with meaty roasted mushrooms, an elegant
red wine sauce, a perfect And well priced Cabernet to pair with, Gnocci with pesto and mushrooms... out of this world...
Caesar salad had a perfect balance of garlic, briny anchovy and Parmesan... a salad so simple but truly delicious....
But what truly makes this restaurant even more special is the owners, the sommelier, the wait staff... who all make you feel like guests in their home.
In a sea of choices, this is an unpretentious gem!

From the moment we stepped into the front door we were warmly and personally welcomed and seated by Guillaume. Julia greeted us at the table and we asked for her favorite flavors on the menu. She was enthusiastic and took her time pointing out what she likes best. Then Debbie was our server and she made fabulous recommendations, paced every course perfectly, and most importantly, no one even tried to pick up my husband's plate until I had finished. Bravo! By the time we finished our scrumptious meal we both agreed that we will become regular guests! Everything was uniquely delicious and the staff and owners were delightful. We did request that they add a couple of cocktails... Chopin vodka Martini and a nice Manhattan would do it for us. Apertifs and digestifs are also a plus. This is my longest and finest review as I do not normally review restaurants, or other business establishments. I loved it!

It almost feels like this restaurant is trying too hard to be different. It was difficult to find a traditional main offering. I selected the rib eye steak. It is an odd cut of meat. Not your traditional style. Mash potatoes great and broccoli was perfect. The steak was a little tough and lacked flavor. I was excited about the pasta, but the lamb sussage was not appealing. My wife ordered three starters. The mixed greens, scallops, and mushroom soup were all excellent. The bread was unremarkable. The French Champagne was beautiful. We finished with the chocolate cake but it was a little dry and had too many nuts on top for its size. I think this is an excellent restaurant that could only get better with a nice chicken dish, local halibut, and maybe a different cut of steak. The server and hostess were both professional and friendly. They were attentive and timely. We looked forward to visiting this restaurant in the future.

We eat here quite frequently since we live not far away. This restaurant is simply one of the best we have ever patronized. Every starter, every salad, every entree..simply delicious and perfection. Don't miss a steak here...they are exquisite...and the wind list is amazing...and excellent choices available by the single glass. Don't miss it.

We enjoyed trying something new. The staff was warm and friendly. Options are few, and portions are a bit on the small side. I had the duck, it came with a side grain but I would have liked a vegetable.
Same goes for my husbands Sea Bass. Tasty but portions are on the small side and a vegetable other than what was incorporated into the grain side dish would have been nice.
All in all we were glad we tried this place.

Hmmmm….. Sadly, I was sorely disappointed with the service and lack of communication. I wanted to love this place so much! Anticipation of a Michelin Star restaurant in a casual setting with amazing food was making me smile before I even got there! Upon entry, no one greeted us and we were sat at a very large table for only 3 of us. Coming from Chicago with many great restaurants, I was excited for an easy friendliness and knowledge of great wine and food. Not a single hello or how are you. NO description of the menu or wondering of what our food interests were. No water served and no one to describe any of the wines. Food, however, was incredible. Oysters and calamari were amazing and fresh. Dessert melted in our mouths. Wine that we ordered (without the help of server) will always be remembered. The food deserves a Michelon star but NOT the service.

Our first visit here. We had an early dinner on what turned out to be a gorgeous day on the coast.
We each had a different appetizer , entree and dessert. Everything was delicious and presentation was
perfect. Our waiter was outstanding -we had a very relaxing meal-never felt the least bit rushed
We had a nice couple seated next to us as well which made for great dinner conversation..
It was a perfect end to my Birthday,
