Got the three courses (All savory) for $40 menu, was great value. Was able to an array of things... The mushroom/truffle/goat cheese soup - so delicious; the bolognese- perfectly cooked homemade pasta; and chicken Marsala- delicious sauce. Only comment is that the caprese salad (on this menu) was nothing special. One piece of basil and just not much there. Could eat that soup for breakfast lunch and dinner though... And the staff was all very kind.
Terramia is a lovely, cozy, quiet, authentic Italian restaurant that is great for an intimate date or two couples who want to visit. You can hear your conversation and your parties ' too. Great service, terrific pasta and meat and fish dishes. Loved the sample pasta dish. Great bread pudding and Tiramusu for dessert.
Excellent little spot in the North End. We started with the arancini balls and caprese salad for apps - very good! Everyone loved their dinners. I got spaghetti carbonara which was excellent - not heavy, nice light cream sauce. The place is loud and tables are close together but the food is good and service was fast.
This was our second visit to Terramia. It is a favorite spot in the North End of Boston. The food is out of this world delicious, the service is polite, informative, friendly, and very accommodating.
The atmosphere in this quaint restaurant is inviting, intimate, and romantic, but still good for business dinners. We celebrated our anniversary here, and will be back when we visit Boston again. Highly recommended.
Hard to pick thee spot in the North End, with so many good restaurants within feet of each other. But they had a chef tasting menu with items that I had planned to order anyway. Started with a rich mushroom soup, followed by light as air gnocchi, and ending with Pollo Marsala. The potatoes underneath were over cooked, but the sauce over the chicken helped that problem. I would have enjoyed more Marsala sauce and the chicken off the bone, but it was good, not fantastic. My tablemate ordered the bread pudding for dessert, good sauce, but the pudding lacked imagination .
My husband and I were in Boston on Vacation. I am vegan, he is not. I was so happy to find a great Italian restaurant that was able to satisfy both our dietary needs. I had vegan ravioli (not on the menu), he had seafood stuffed ravioli. We both left more than satisfied with our meals. My sauce taste just like grandma use to make on Sunday. :)
Waiter and staff were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend making a reservation.
We moved recently to the North End and have been trying different restaurants in the area. This is a very cute, small and intimate venue. I appreciated that the tables were not as close together as most of the restaurants in the North End. It felt like we had our own space without feeling like you're dining with strangers at your table! Our waiter was very friendly and informative. Food was spectacular! We have visited the North End for over 25 years and eaten in several places. My husband is Italian and hard to please food wise. We have our favorites in the area and now we have another! A definite must try for people looking for a great Italian meal!
Traveled to Boston for vacation. Referred to Terramia by a friend with local ties to Boston. Dined during Boston's North End St Anthony celebration. Terramia was a wonderful respite from the festival experience. Spent eight days on east coast and this was our best meal with the exceptional service!
All I can say is that there was nothing to write home about. The food was lackluster at best. We came here for Boston restaurant week. Both of us ordered Lamb Chops - medium done. What came was closer to rare than medium. The meat was tough & chewy. Service was also slow & inattentive. When serving black pepper over our food, the server ensured that not only did the food get it, but so did the table as well as our clothes. I'm no food critic, nor hard to please, but this place didn't live up to what one would expect from any halfway decent restaurant.
What a great find thanks to open table and the wonderful people who take time to review a restaurant! Dined here on a very busy Saturday night and we were seated right away. As other reviewers noted the place is small and loud. We loved that! They easily accommodated my food allergies and the discerning pallet of our kids. The service and food were great & we had a wonderful meal. I would go again when looking for authentic Italian food in a cozy setting!
Food was fair to good. Appetizers were great! Both pasta dishes were not cooked well. Did not achieve "al dente'" status. Very undercooked. Wine selections were good to very good. Service was very good and waitstaff were very accomodating & professional. Would give this spot another chance in a month or so, to give them an opportunity to acclimate the chef to perfect his pasta preparation skills. In fairness, sauces were very good and traditional "home cooked flavor" on the two we sampled.
We always love this restaurant. We took family from out of town to experience the North End and they raved at the experience. Their wait staff has been there a long time which tells me a lot about a restaurant. They also have seasonal specials which are tremendous. If they have zucchini flowers on menu they are outrageous
We were 10 minutes early for our reservation but the table was ready and waiting for us. Contrast this to our next night's restaurant where we had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Terramia is a small restaurant and if anything, would have a harder time controlling table turnover. The fact we were seated immediately shows it's a better run restaurant. Great food, great wine list. We would return here and given how many North End restaurants there are, that's saying a lot.
Great location and European feel. Service was good but not overly warm. Food was spotty. Seafood ravioli was hint of seafood and large sheets of pasta drowning in tomato sauce. Pork dish was better but a bit over cooked. However halibut was quite good.
Think it's important to be choosy when selecting entrees.
Terramia is always great! Fantastic food and wine. We first found them about two years ago and it is our go to place in the North End. They always have an unusual delicious special and very accommodating about my food restrictions. Brought our friends here and they loved it!
