Terrain Garden Café - Westport Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful dinner here! The Farm House Board was amazing! The Sweet Potato Soup, Pear Toast & Fall Salad with Salmon were also quite delicious!! The decor was beautiful and the wait staff was very friendly & attentive! We will be back for dinner & brunch.
This place has gone downhill over the years. Bread tasted stale. (One of our highlights formerly). Food was over cooked. Waitress was aloof and was trying to be maybe cool or something but not attentive at all. Felt cliquey atmosphere amongst staff. Won’t go back. Shame as lovely store.
I love the atmosphere of Terrain and am a regular. This visit was disappointing because I made a 1:15 reservation to bring my parents (in their 80's) here for lunch. We were kept waiting for almost 25 minutes with only a cursory apology. Others with reservations were kept waiting as well. I highly recommend they take fewer reservations and seat people promptly. The food was very good as usual but this experience left a bad taste...
We just loved our brunch at Terrain. The menu is creative, the food is exceptionally well executed, the service is attentive and of course the ambiance of the store and cafe is unique! Bonus points for the fun shopping after lunch. I can't wait to go back again. Well done, Terrain, well done.
Always a pleasant experience - the menu, ambiance and service make for a special experience each and every time. Something on the menu for all, especially healthy and vegetarian conscious. The entire atmosphere is energized, yet is relaxing as well- and oh so beautiful!
This really is a very special place. Lively crowd and of course, the lighting and decor is magical. The food was really amazing, unusual offerings but nothing disappointed. Need to add more choices to dessert menu. While the waitress was very personable and professional...there were times where we felt forgotten and large space in time where no one attended to us, so I think that needs a bit of work but overall.....a fabulous experience.
Terrain is a local favorite, I meet friends and clients and eat there regularly and it is usually a treat. I know a reservation is necessary and I made one for 1:30, very disappointed that despite arriving 15 minutes early for our reservation and checking in with the hostess, they seated 2 other tables before us who had arrived after we did and despite having a reservation we had to wait an additional 25 minutes to be seated with no apology or acknowledgement for the inconvenience!
Nice variety to the menu and what we ordered was very nice. Service was not great. Had to wave down our server more than once and we were not checked on after we received our meal. Other than that nice place with a beautiful store to wander around after lunch.
Lovely setting. Friendly service but s-l-o-w. Food very undercooked and I like my salmon rare. I like raw salmon if it’s sushi-grade but who knows at a “regular” restaurant. My friend’s eggs were not just runny — they weren’t heated through. Maybe kitchen was a bit off for the day?
as a foodie i would highly recommend updating the menu. should be changed every season to reflect the best of local seasonal produce....
or at the very least have 2 daily specials
as someone who comes here quite frequently the menu is becoming boring!
this is my complaint of nearly all westport restaurants
Super disappointed. Rude staff ruined the whole experience. The food was pretty tasteless. The coffee bar manager was Disinterested in serving us. Didn’t acknowledge our presence. Very awkward and uncomfortable, felt as though we were bothering anyone with ordering or questions. We absolutely love the PA location, the food, the staff, the coffee/tea bar, the store, the garden center. We were so excited to be passing though town to check out this location and what they had to offer. And we are sad to say we will never return.
Went for brunch on the recommedation of a friend. As we arrived we noticed the parking lot was packed. They have valet parking and we got the last parking space (don't know where you park otherwise). After our dining experience we now know why people flock to Terrain. The brunch menu had many appealing items and all of us were pleased with our choices. The pumpkin french toast, eggs benedict, pumpkin soup, kale salad and coffees were delicious! Bread in a flower pot is such an adorable way to present to the table (and it's warm). The environment is unique...outdoor feel in an indoor space. There are tables outside but we were not seated there. After brunch we spent a while browsing through the many unique items in the Terrain store where we made some really nice home purchases! We will be back and we will also be taking advantage of some of the many classes Terrain offers.
