Terrain Garden Café - Westport Ratings and Reviews
Nice variety to the menu and what we ordered was very nice. Service was not great. Had to wave down our server more than once and we were not checked on after we received our meal. Other than that nice place with a beautiful store to wander around after lunch.
Lovely setting. Friendly service but s-l-o-w. Food very undercooked and I like my salmon rare. I like raw salmon if it’s sushi-grade but who knows at a “regular” restaurant. My friend’s eggs were not just runny — they weren’t heated through. Maybe kitchen was a bit off for the day?
as a foodie i would highly recommend updating the menu. should be changed every season to reflect the best of local seasonal produce....
or at the very least have 2 daily specials
as someone who comes here quite frequently the menu is becoming boring!
this is my complaint of nearly all westport restaurants
Super disappointed. Rude staff ruined the whole experience. The food was pretty tasteless. The coffee bar manager was Disinterested in serving us. Didn’t acknowledge our presence. Very awkward and uncomfortable, felt as though we were bothering anyone with ordering or questions. We absolutely love the PA location, the food, the staff, the coffee/tea bar, the store, the garden center. We were so excited to be passing though town to check out this location and what they had to offer. And we are sad to say we will never return.
Went for brunch on the recommedation of a friend. As we arrived we noticed the parking lot was packed. They have valet parking and we got the last parking space (don't know where you park otherwise). After our dining experience we now know why people flock to Terrain. The brunch menu had many appealing items and all of us were pleased with our choices. The pumpkin french toast, eggs benedict, pumpkin soup, kale salad and coffees were delicious! Bread in a flower pot is such an adorable way to present to the table (and it's warm). The environment is unique...outdoor feel in an indoor space. There are tables outside but we were not seated there. After brunch we spent a while browsing through the many unique items in the Terrain store where we made some really nice home purchases! We will be back and we will also be taking advantage of some of the many classes Terrain offers.
Great lunch, as usual. The roasted red pepper soup was so good that I bought an extra order home for my husband. Love the burgers - a perfectly cooked beef patty (medium for me) served on a soft brioche bun. The accompanying French fries were light and crispy. Our server was very good, particularly since it was restaurant week & was really crowded.
Love browsing the gifts and plants after lunch!
Arrived for a 12:45 reservation. Seated at 1:20, promptly served bread, butter and water. Waitress came and took a coffee order. coffees came promptly and we ordered our brunch. We got engrossed in conversation and realized we hadn't been served. Others around us were being served and around 2:15 the waitress came by to ask how we were doing. We told her we did not get our food. She seemed shocked. We also notified the hostess. They said they would "get right on it". They were cleaning up, people were leaving. It was nearing 20 minutes later, around 2:40 pm, that we decided to leave. Appalling service, no management in sight, and no direction, guidance or help for the staff. A Horrible experience.
Ordered the Eggs Benedict and was not impressed. It lacked flavor and was overpriced. Atmosphere is nice and obviously a popular meeting and networking locale. Parking situation is terrible. I'd go back for the coffee but not much else. Unimpressed. There are many better places nearby.
I first heard about Terrain from friends at work. They said it was a must have experience. Last December I took my husband to lunch for our anniversary and we were amazed. It was expertly decorated for Christmas, our lunch was superb. It was everything we hoped for and more. We even bought Christmas presents for our family. I knew I wanted to go back, but this time with my girlfriends who recommended this little gem. Yesterday was a perfect day. We dined outside, had an awesome brunch along with our pink cocktails. We even browsed the gift shop for over an hour. This time I went home with The Fireside candle, which was totally worth the splurge.. I can't wait to go back again!!
I also enjoy this restaurant. There are healthy alternatives which are great tasting. Last week was busy night and I think our waiter was overburdened. Still he did a fine job and kept are food and drink coming. I would appreciate a refresh on the menu or some additional items. I think maybe I eat there so often, I getting bored with the options.
The restaurant was very busy yesterday and there were a few hiccups in the service but once we brought it to the attention of management they handled everything in a MORE than fair manner to make up for the hiccups. The chef, Jess, even came out to apologize for the hiccups and couldn't have been more gracious and wonderful.
I have eaten at Terrain many times and have always enjoyed the healthy and delicious food. But the very professional way they handle problems makes me even more devoted to return to this lovely spot.
