Terrain Garden Cafe
Guests are invited to BYOB.
Dinner at Terrain tonight was delicious!! We brought along our church pastor and his wife who are family friends of ours! For drinks, everybody, except two of us had spritzers, Dad had the Concord Grape, Mom got Peach, and the pastor had cherry. For appetizers, we had the flower pot bread with honey lavender butter and the Avocado Toast with romesco and teardrop peppers. Everybody enjoyed it. I ordered a cup of the Mushroom Soup which had button mushrooms, cream, and olive oil. It was yummy!! For the main course, Mom and Dad each had the Jail Island Salmon with cauliflower tabbouleh, and green chickpea hummus. The pastor and I both had the Terrain Burger with PA Angus beef, and balsamic onion jam, served on a brioche bun, served with Parmesan truffle fries! I had cheddar cheese on mine, with lettuce and tomato on the side. it was realty yummy! The pastor's wife had the Lancaster Chicken Breast with saffron couscous, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, and a sunflower romesco. She really enjoyed it!! For dessert, both mom and the pastor had coffee, which they enjoyed. Me, Mom, Dad, and the pastor each had milk chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips in it! It was delicious!! The pastor's wife had sorbet, which she enjoyed. This was our first time eating dinner here in a while and we LOVED it! Cindy, our waitress, was very friendly and helpful. Molly, the new general manager, was sweet and made us feel very welcome! Thanks for a wonderful evening, Terrain! Looking forward to coming back again soon!
After a lengthy wait of 47 min the server finally acknowledged that we maybe had been waiting for our food for too long. The manager was requested and at that point we were notified that the was a issue in the kitchen and they were slightly overwhelmed by the rush of customers on a Sunday at brunch hours. Not impressed and with a toddler in tow I asked to leave with the food only to get home and find out the food was just tossed into the container without a care in the world. NEVER GOING BACK EVER.
Fantastic dinner and comfortable experience sitting outside for the first time!
Amazing natural environment with lots of plants, rustic touches and delicious farm to table food. Loved
The atmosphere is always inviting, food is yummy and service is great. Couldn't ask for more for a date night!
Beautiful space. Delicious food.
Salad included a dry bone-in piece of chicken, a drop of quinoa, very little dressing, and some minimal other ingredients. Was actually embarrassed that I had recommended it to a friend. Atmosphere & service just as great as always but have noticed that portions are getting skimpy and some of the menu items really need to be revised or fine tuned. Has always been one of my favorite places but others agree that it needs some menu changes!
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch the other day. Food and service were outstanding. Noise level a little high, but it was okay. It was my aunt's 96th! birthday. Waiter brought a big salted chocolate chip cookie with a candle that topped off a great meal.
Beautiful brunch experience. The food was tasty. The servers were attentive and friendly. After eating, it was a beautiful place to walk around, check out the store and flowers, and take some selfies with my date.
I LOVE this place! Always a great time and great atmosphere.
Delicious food, great service and the ambience is wonderful. We sat outside on a picnic bench surrounded by beautiful lemon trees and flowers. Couldn't have been more lovely.
Very good! The food was very good! We questioned the menu a little bit when we first sat down, but found something for everyone. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meal, it was very noisy though, there were a few times my husband and I had to repeat ourselves. Other than that it was great! Would recommend!
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants. The food is amazing and plated so well.
Our server was great.
We will be back many more times.
Make sure to walk around all of the property!
Disappointed that the seasonal peach salad was served with not ripe peaches.
I think the menu needs an update.
It's really boring- everytime I bring a guest with me.
Everyone was very polite and attentive! Food came out quick and tasted great.
Even with a reservation had to wait over 15 minutes because the 3rd party was an infant and they didn’t want to seat us at a 4 top.
we all enjoyed aour shopping and our lunch. Will come back
Beautiful location, wonderful food, great service. It was a little hard to find the entrance when crossing the highway from Staybridge.
Amazing spot for lunch & store browsing. Byob. Good vegetarian choices. Must have the Mushroom Soup!
overall good food and atmosphere. service was pretty slow though
Another great meal at Terrain Cafe, our go to spot for Sunday brunch. You can't ask for much more when you're already getting friendly and attentive service, while eating wonderfully good seasonal food, surrounded by a fantastic and energetic space. Oh and don't forget to bring your favorite bottle of bubbly!
I'd recommend the atmosphere. Our server was okay, nothing special. The noise level is very high. Portions are enormous, generally good quality but heavy sausage, huge pieces of toast, eggs, bacon, and some salads with good crisp greens. My friend and both had smoked salmon, ery good and a nice smaller size, but really needed some lemon juice. I asked for it and got the three smallest pieces of lemon ever. I would have paid for it if it cost too much. I would have liked the option of a puffy Belgian waffle with actual maple syrup or a light crepe with fruit or something. Still like the atmosphere and quality ingredients so will likely go.back.
Bright, VERY fresh food and the service was spot on.
We’ve been to Terrain for dinner many times. This time did not disappoint! The atmosphere was perfect. We went at 8 PM and it was peaceful. Our waitress was excellent, attentive but never rushed us. The scallop dish was delicious as was my husband’s flank steak. Both meals were presented beautifully—with tasty mushrooms and mini potatoes. To top it off, the blueberry lemon sorbet was out of this world. As usual, we’ll be back!
We make a point of dining at the Terrain Garden Cafe nearly every time we visit the Brandywine Valley, and I am impressed every time with the delightful ambience and delicious meals we enjoy there. Even as the dining area has expanded from the original greenhouse to the interior and outdoor patio spaces, they have managed to retain the charm and high quality of the original cafe. Our brunch during this visit was particularly delicious - perfectly cooked eggs, yummy summer corn fritters, and the most amazing butter cake with mocha buttercream frosting, which we ordered off the printed menu after eyeing it in the display case of the coffee counter before being seated. Staff stopped by to inquire about that one, as apparently they had been ogling it as well since the pastry chef had brought it out.
Highly recommend - and don't forget to bring a bottle if you desire wine or bubbly with your meal.
The Cafe setting is very charming with nice ambiance. Brunch/Lunch menu was simple and on point. Mushrm soup excellent and the burger was good. Corn fritter was ok. Grain bowl was fine and didn't care for the little fried fritter that came with it (burnt and hard) and it should not be priced at $20 especially for the portion size. Our server was very nice. The restaurant was busy so food service was on the slower side and noise level is high. Glad it's BYO.
I took my son who had just turned 22 years old and we enjoyed it very much.. prices were alittle more than I expected but food was delicious service was great and atmosphere was definitely a thumbs up... I would definitely go again just maybe be alittle more careful when ordering extras ... definitely a 5🌟 garden cafe and looking forward to coming back again
Service great as always....portion size for price poor....quality average..lunch and brunch much better than dinner
I took my wife here on her birthday lunch for the 2nd year in a row. It’s a tradition now and Terrain is one of her favorite restaurants. Brunch is amazing and the food has excelled even more over the past year. We love the multiple seating areas with their own subtlety different ambiances (outdoor, cafe, greenhouse).
Food was delicious, atmosphere was perfect, and our waitress was amazing! We will definitely be coming back.
This was our first time in a long time that we had brunch at Terrain! It was really good! For drinks, Mom had regular coffee with sugar and milk, I had water, and Dad had his favorite, the Concord Grape Spritzer, which he always loves! We had flower pot bread and butter to start, and then for the main course, Mom and Dad both ordered the Brioche French Toast with lemon yogurt, maple syrup, and macerated peaches. Dad had the lemon yogurt on his French Toast and Mom had hers on the side. They both really enjoyed it! I ordered the Organic Omelet, which had zucchini and goat cheese, with a side of potato hash and simply dressed greens! It was really yummy! For dessert, I had a scoop of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge on it and some extra hot fudge on the side. Colleen, the general manager, came by to say hello to see how our food was. The place was packed, but they had a good crowd. Our church pastor and his wife have dined here too for brunch and they love it!We will be back again very soon!
Terrain has a beautiful array of plants and flowers throughout its greenhouses, store and restaurant! It is such a unique, refreshing, and breathtaking experience. The staff is very friendly and you can't go wrong no matter what you choose on the menu. We left feeling more positive and fully satisfied!
It's always a pleasure to go and eat at Terrain Garden Cafe. The food and service are excellent and you can't beat the ambiance. Plus the shop is great! I always take friends here who visit from out of town and they always love it.
wonderful food and service in a unique garden setting
Server was excellent. As were the entire staff.
We dine here regularly, and have been impressed with the new management. Consistency is very important to us. And, they have excelled at this over the past year. Today, however, they bombed! While an omelette was being made, the Breakfast board, just, sat. Result — cold everything. This is 101-level basic, that is, get two plates to the table, both hot and to the same degree of doneness. We could not wait for it to be remade. Not a squeek from the kitchen! Both meals on the bill! POOR! Salvaged, a bit, by the waiter apologizing, and send two, free, cookies with us. Still……
I was treating my niece for her birthday lunch. It was great experience for her.
Great concept. Great food. Great service. Highly recommend.
Beautiful environment and the food was Incredible we will definitely be back! Spent $150 in the shop too. So dangerous. Lol
Stopped in for late lunch and to visit the garden store with a friend. Absolutely loved the botanical setting for the cafe and the menu was soooo good! Service was super attentive and friendly. Will absolutely return again! We live a little over an hour away but will make a point head there anytime we find ourselves near the neighborhood. What a special place! Thank you!
