Terrain Garden Cafe
Guests are invited to BYOB.
Took forever to get our food or even ice for our waters
This place never disappoints. The quality of the food is superb. The place itself is just amazing. I want to move my things in and live there. If they have burrata on the menu, GET IT.
I love the atmosphere and the variety of interesting foods. It's also fun to stroll through the shop afterwards.
Terrain is beautiful and it is fun to walk around and see all the great fall ideas. We did have to wait for a table even though I had made a reservation. I like that the food is healthy and uses locally sourced ingredients.
Elizabeth was great and very accommodating. The place has great ambiance. Wanted to bring my family and show them how cool it was there. The food was yummy and they loved it. Wish we could have gotten there earlier to hang out by the bonfire. We definitely have to allot more time next time ! Thank you for being here!
There was no wait, the food was good, loved the ambiance!
Can't way to come back again! What scenic and sereen experience. Thank You..
Making reservations was quick and easy. Ambiance was wonderful. Food selection was smaller than most restaurants but I think that is because everything is seasonal and there were enough selections. Service was good.
The main attraction here is the ambiance, as you are essentially eating inside a greenhouse. It is very pretty with plants all around and really nice lighting and candles to seal the deal. Great food and great service as well!
I don’t know what is going on at Terrain’s cafe. I was there a few weeks ago and felt/reported the same thing. The menu selection is a lot smaller that it used to be and food was fast fair to midland/ . The salad I was served was underwhelming to say the least and the it took a long time for our meals to be served. Our server did mention that the kitchen was experiencing a back up. I drive from Rehoboth Beach Delaware to go to Terrain. I used to so look forward to it. I would look at the menu online days in advance to try to decide what to have. The menu was so abundant with beautifully enticing selections. And now, it is so different. The selections are just mundane and nothing I have ordered the last two times has been worth the 90 minute to two hour drive we make. What has happened??? Trying to keep food costs low??
I do have to mention that our server was delightful and energetic. She had taken care of us a few weeks ago when we were there and she was just as lovely. Knowledgeable and lovely, even as it starts to get very busy. She was even able to talk us into THE most delicious desert , a berry cake. We should have just had desert and coffee. I will continue to make the trek to Terrain because it is a special and inspiring place to be. I just don’t know if I will be dining again.
Ambiance is always great! Amazing setting. Some food was overcooked but overall very tasty. Def recommend.
Still one of my favorite places to eat. Took my 12 year old daughter and she loved it, too.
If I could rate our experience as greater than 5 stars I would! We are already planning our next visit. Order the Chocolate Terrarium for dessert, exquisitely presented and delicious! Our server was a gem.
Always have a fantastic time at Terrain!
Terrain never disappoints!! The food, atmosphere and service are incredible!!! We LOVE EVERYTHING about it!!
Excelent as always
Terrain was recommended to us by several friends so we decided to try it. We had a late reservation at 7:45 so the shop was closed when we arrived. The restaurant decor is unique and we enjoyed a table near the lighted birch tree room divider. The ambiance was very nice and our server was pleasant and attentive, however, were disappointed with the food. While fresh, we though it was just "ok" and overpriced. The scallop entree for $30 had three large scallops on top of a small serving of greens and veggies. The quinoa tabouli salad had very little quinoa and was mostly greens with a little dressing. The harvest bowl was also lacking in the advertised quinoa and not very flavorful. My husband added chicken and thought the quantity was too large with a whole leg/thigh and a half breast which dominated the meal. The cheese plate appetizer and buttercream cake for dessert were both very good.
yes, you'll feel like you're dining in a lush garden with the posh of delaware county. yes, you'll be treated well by the wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable staff. yes, you'll feel like you're in a philly mag photoshoot (if that's your thing). yes, you just might be disappointed by the menu trying so hard to be a "farm to table" thing. all in all, it was a good experience, but i'd much rather have spent the money on the artisanal salt pinch pots...just kiddin'
Everything about our experience was amazing 😉 can’t wait to come back!!!
I had a great time there for my birthday. They accommodated the larger party size and the outside seating was lovely. They lowered the umbrella for more shade. There was one friendly bee but at this time of year it was not a problem like other reviewers have mentioned. You can get all the festive fall feels without the fuss of going to the farm.
I met my friend for brunch and we hadn’t seen each other in a while. Our waiter was great no rushing us just whAt we were looking for. Food was great n the atmosphere was terrific decorated for fall. Beautiful!
Terrific meal and service in one of the most pleasant, idyllic restaurant settings around. The duck breast special was fabulous.
Great food, great service, highly recommended!
We came here for my birthday and it was amazing! Such a cool spot with great food and service!
I ordered the Terrain burger with pecorino truffle cheese fries and it was absolutely delicious. Liz is the best server!
Dinner has always been very good. The scallops were prepared perfectly.
Food is always great and love the feel of terrain!
One of a small list of favorite places for us. We were celebrating our anniversary. Pleased to say we had a great meal and special time.
Love this place! So nice and peaceful. Have really cool decor. Prices are very steep. Breakfast for 3 was $100 with tip. Service was top notch. Unique foods. French toast was really dry though. Got an awesome candle, succulent, Bloody Mary mix :). Love the way they deliver the bill.
Terrain never disappoints, especially during the fall. Food always incorporates seasonal menu, fall is beautifully executed and festive with seasonal decor.
Great venue! Delicious food! The only negative would be that the “sunroom/greenhouse” is very noisy.
I have to say that after several years of dining at Terrain Garden Cafe, this was probably my most disappointing. It used to be a really special, almost magical experience every time, and yesterday I said to my friend that Terrain(both the cafe and the store) seems to be losing its magic. The service was spotty. There was training going on in her defense, but it still seemed to lag and not feel personal as it has in the past. The food was good, but not great. My soup was almost hot and the kale salad was overdressed. The bread, which used to make my mouth water and just the thought, was dry, but at least warm. I drive about two hours from Rehoboth Beach Delaware when I go to Terrain and in the past I always leave feeling like the drive would be worth making daily for the experience. But yesterday I left feeling like I definitely won’t rush back, which makes me sad.
Waitress could been more attentive. Food took pretty long. I think the menu should have a bigger selection.
I think seafood should be added to the menu.
Also, it was a bday celebration but, there was no deserts offered.
Amazing atmosphere and food. A true “treat” restaurant!
The food is delicious! The waitress was very attentive! And, its BYOB!
We were there for the Fall Festival and had lunch in the garden cafe was one the nicest lunches . Our waitress was awesome
Generally we love terrain but this experience was not like our others. It was busy as it was their fall festival and I think they had a hard time handling the volume in the kitchen. Staff was very friendly but food was not what it usually is. The bread which is usually one of the best parts was slightly stale and food came out cold. Not worth the money this time.
Amazing experience. Everything was outstanding. Wish there was one in Maine too!
Wonderful space for dining with friends. Very unique and enjoyed the creative and limited menu.
Excellent food in a beautiful space!
