Terrain Garden Cafe
Traveled an hour to see the wonderful garden cafe. Was not disappointed. Ended up shopping after brunch. Worth making the trip.
Lovely setting and an interesting menu. Cheese board was very good & server was knowledgeable & gave good explanation of cheeses & accompaniments. Salads were interesting but were really under seasoned. Entrees were ok but didn’t quite live up to the price tag. Quality ingredients but execution is a little weak - duck was definitely medium rather than medium - rare, snapper was pretty good but delivered luke warm,. Service was professional, competent & friendly.
Excellent food and service. Terribly noisy. No significant wait for reservation. Reasonable prices. Would return.
This was my second time at Terrain and I loved it equally as much as the first. The only downside was that we came for dinner with a 5:15 p.m. reservation and didn't realize the gift shop closes at 6 p.m. so we didn't get to walk around through it after dinner like we planned. Maybe next time!
We had a delicious lunch at Terrain my only complaint was the noise level. We had difficulty hearing our server. She was excellent and very attentive to our needs.
Great food and friendly staff!!! Their breakfast items are tasty and outstanding!
This is a casual restaurant which is part of a large garden nursery and retail store complex. It is very rustic and welcoming. The menu is cutting edge with comfort food as well. I had the roasted cauliflower entree which was unique and delicious, set in a sweet potato puree and garnished with goat cheese and toasted pistachios. My friend had the mushroom soup made with Kennett Square mushrooms and the salmon toast with creme fraiche. Service was very good.
Love this innovative, fresh cuisine, and not having to drive into the city to have a fun dining experience. This is a great spot for lunch with friends, accompanied by a little house & garden shopping...
We enjoyed Terrain Garden Cafe so much we have already made a reservation for our next visit! From the time we entered the cafe until we exit, everything was perfection! Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!!
It’s Terrain -everything is perfect there. They know what they are doing. If you are a steak and potatoes kinda person, may not be your best choice.
Yes for the novelty factor. But for frequency of visits, no.
My daughter and I met for lunch( that is a special occasion) and browse through the beautiful Terrain shops! It was also a St Patrick’s Day celebration.
Food was amazingly delicious. Harvest bowl is the best dish in Chester County. So good. Love this place
Terrain is always a pleasure.
The Zatar cauliflower was delicious. And so was the citrus desert.
While the ambiance is great, the menu is very limited, and has not changed since we were last there a couple of months ago. No one in our party of 4 was impressed with the food. This used to be my favorite restaurant.
Everything was wonderful, the food, ambiance, and server was prompt and checked in on us, she just wasn't very friendly. Portions are a little small for the prices, but everything was delicious. Def make a reservation if you go on the weekend, it was very crowded.
Great, friendly service. Food was just delicious!
This is seriously one of my favorite places! I love the atmosphere, charm and coziness! I took my Sister in Law, and she loved it as well! The food was delicious, service was great and very friendly. We had a really nice time walking around the retail area after wea ate. We can't wait to go back!!
I very much so enjoyed The Terrain Cafe - I took my Girlfiend (soon to be Fiancé... Ssshh) here for her 23rd Birthday. Allow me to remark on THE FLAVOR of the food was OUTSTANDING - I also really like the BYOB aspect. The grilled Skewers were very tasty & well seasoned/cooked. The Farmhouse platter was an absolute treat!!! Please be sure to bring a bottle or two of Cabernet Sauvignon or red Zin - We ad brought champagne and I was yearning for a glass or two of Red for the length of the meal. We also had the smoked salmon & the terrain burger - Oh my goodness, both were SO delicious - We asked that the burger be cooked medium well and it came with steak fries - (the fries I wasn’t overly impressed with but my date loved them) The salmon was my favorite - it was so good.
I was not particularily satisfied with my waitress - She did not do anything wrong, persay... She opened our champagne for us and gave us a description of the food on the menu, But she consistently would walk away before I could polightly order our food... Hence why I wound up ordering the 4 or 5 dinner items in one foul swoop. She did seem as though she liked her job and did smile here and there and was polight, I fear we may have just caught her on a busy “off day”
I will absolutely be returning in the future... My lady and I are actually looking into the terrain cafe as a potential wedding reception venue due to how much we enjoyed the food and atmosphere!
Loved it for our special occasion. Can’t afford to go too often but was delightful for a treat. Food delicious and all servers were cheerful
Outstanding, as always! The omelettes are cooked to perfection. Our waitress was delightful and attentive. Nothing to complain about!
Girls night out! This place is beautiful! BYOB. Service was great!
Food was good! Interesting options so come with an open mind!
The dessert tart we had was Amazing!!
So glad we got a chance to go! I’m sure when it’s warm out and all the garden stuff is out it’s a great time!
Loved the experience and the ambiance but unfortunately did not love my food. We went for dinner but was told by others that the brunch is way better. Will go for the brunch next time. The store closes at 6 pm on Sunday evenings, unfortunately.
Really nice place to go, good food and ambiance is great!! Can’t wait to go again!! Excellent experience!!
Great time at brunch on Saturday afternoon! Server was lovely, as was all the other hosting and service staff. The choices that were recommended certainly did not disappoint! The girls who joined me, we don’t get the opportunity to get together for long periods of time outside of work so we especially appreciated not feeling pressured or rushed, not even once! We will be back!
Terrain Garden Café is a wonderful unique place to dine. Only issue is that if it is cold outside the temperature in the Sunroom can be on the cool side. Also recommend coming early to enjoy the fabulous store before your reservations.
The back dining area is nice, however it smelled like the dishwasher. It is also noisier in that area. Food was good, healthy serving but not hot enough.
My girlfriends and I really enjoyed our time at Terrain Cafe. There is a beautiful, warm feeling when you walk in. Overall the experience was unique and amazing (especially the food). I would definitely recommend the charcuterie board to share 😍 Can’t wait to go back!!
We wanted to relax and unwind. We told our server and she kept our wine glasses filled, but basically left us alone. We had a relaxing time and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Great atmosphere and a fun place to shop afterwards.
Went for brunch on a Saturday. I had Brioche French toast...AMAZING! Others had the omelette and the breakfast board no one was disappointed and we all enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and all the cute little themed touches. Like fresh baked bread in a terra cotta flower pot. And the check coming inside a pocket guide to vegetables. Food came quick, server was slow to refill beverages but beyond that was great. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely return! Oh and we all enjoyed the cute little garden/gift shop that you walk through to get into and leave the cafe! Spent an hour looking around the shop and green houses!
An absolutely wonderful place to go with friends, family or for a date. BYO champagne and you can get orange juice pitchers for mimosas. Love the atmosphere and the shop attached.
A little loud at lunch but great setting
Love farm to table local support
Met friends here for an early dinner before attending a concert at Longwood Gardens. It was a wonderful experience from the atmosphere to the lovely waitress, Elizabeth. The food was presented artistically and was fresh and tasty. The cheese board had a nice selection of cheeses and lovely house-made mustard. We all had the mushroom soup which was very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. We shared the beet salad with golden and red beets , greens and a nice dressing. The BYOB is a nice option also. I would like to return for their brunch!
Disappointed! expensive and entrees were not great (under cooked and meat quality poor).Cheese plate was great.Been awhile since eaten there 5 years will not go again
Great casual meeting place as well as business lunch. The menu is small but delicious; the food quality is very high — also a BYOB alternative.
Great experience with excellent service. Disappointing that the shops had closed while we were dining.
It was great
Creative cuisine in a unique setting.
