The burger was to die for, the chocolate terrarium was delicious. The ambiance was beautiful for Christmas. Perfect date night
The courses were very rushed. We were not done with our appetizers when our entrees were delivered.
We were 4 with all different menu choices. The salmon and hamburger were good; the scrambled eggs not so good. I had the grilled cheese, apple sandwich. The bread was so thick
that it constituted most of the sandwich. Would not order again.
The ambiance was delightful and obviously a
place to have lunch while shopping.
This is my favorite restaurant. I have eaten in a lot of restaurant's but if you like a rustic yet elegant setting and delicious meals served in a unique charmingly casual environment , this is your place.
It is worth the trip for the flower pot bread and daily special home made butter alone!
Price is very reasonable and the quality of the food is second to none.
I have never had even a mediocre meal at Terrain.
Make a rez - it gets busy.
We stayed for two hours and always have the most knowledgeable, friendly servers. Food is always a gourmet delight.
Was very good but they had nothing special for birthday celebration. Would definitely go back as great menu and service and ambiance.
We were running late and I reached out to the Cafe and spoke to Molly, (mgr.), she was so supportive of us getting there safely. When we walked in, I went to thank her and she hugged me! In today’s world it’s hard to get that kind of caring service!
When you walk into the main dining room, it feels as if your walking into a magical forest. I always think of a Midsummer Night’s Dream. Shakespeare would have dined here often. The food was amazing. We had the Farmhouse cheese board, which showcased flavorful locally sourced cheeses and artisanal meats. My mom had the Terrain burger, juicy and full of flavor along with Pecorino Truffle Fries, no words! I had the Harvest bowl which was filled with crunchy amazing veggies. I added an egg and avocado to it. My daughter had the Maple-Chile glazed chicken which was juicy and quite flavorful. Our server (I think her name was Devon) so bummed I can’t remember it, was super sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu.
Terrain Cafe is our place to go for special occasions or when we want the best brunch out there. It is beautiful, filled with plants and a fabulous growing wall! It is attached to the Terrain Store which is a destination in itself. Going to the Terrain Cafe is beautiful dining experience, words really can’t express the ambience and fabulous food!
Great place with yammi food! Loved the cheese board and bread was awesome!!!
Awesome lunch with delicious drinks. Great way to kick off the holiday season
A thoughtfully run restaurant which suits multiple occasions to celebrate with family and friends. Guests can be casual, dressed for the holidays or baby shower celebration etc...
The staff does their best to make sure the courses arrive at a reasonable time and the food is really quite good.
We have not had to wait for service but as with most popular restaurants, if that would be a problem for you or your party, be sure to ask the hostess so you can schedule an event around popular times.

Very cute spot! Really enjoyed the mushroom soup and scallops
We requested the greenhouse and at our reserved time nothing was available. The staff sat us then shortly after when the greenhouse was available they took us right in and sat us all up again! They could not have been more accommodating! Great time!
Courteous and prompt service. Food was delicious and fresh. Wonderful ambiance!
The venue is lovely. The food was good, but pricey. The staff was friendly, but not very accommodating. The risotto was different than what was expected. When we asked the waitress about it, her response was "well, I don't know what to tell you." That response just left me not wanting to go back.
One of the most gorgeous settings for a restaurant! It's perfect for a special occasion, date, or get together. Service is excellent. Prices are on the high side and portions are small and not a lot of entree options but the food is very good. I had the fresh fig and ricotta starter with prosciutto and it was amazing. My friends tried the burrata and although it didn't look terribly appetizing it tasted very good. They got the sea scallops and I had a salad and we were very happy with our meals. I highly recommend!
Always a wonderful treat to eat at Terrain. Food is always excellent as is the service. It tends to be pretty noisy but just love it here.
Great visit! The ambience is amazing. Everyone was very helpful. Can't wait to return!
For all of the hype, the menu is limited. The noise level is loud. The food was ok but I wouldn’t recommend it and it just wasn’t worth it.
During a visit in September I found a thick black hair in my (flower pot) bread, a swift apology was offered and replacement bread! I declined and nothing more was mentioned or offered! I visited again in November and was really underwhelmed. From where I was sat I could see into the kitchen, I watched a guy at his food prep station on his cell phone and long hair down his back with no hat or hair net! It seemed my previous experience had not spurred a change in kitchen staff hygiene habits! Flowerpot bread was brought to my table and it was hard not soft and fresh as usual. I ordered the grilled cheese and a bowl of granola. Both were brought at the same time, as I’d asked and I began with the grilled cheese first so it wouldn’t go cold! I didn’t need to worry- it wasn’t even warm! There was Camembert cheese, sliced apple, fig jam and grated white cheese that wasn’t melted! It seems the toast is grilled ahead of time then the ‘grilled cheese’ is assembled to order! I didn’t expect or appreciate a cold ‘grilled’ unmelted sandwich! Granola was great, not stale tasting like last time. Dirty chai was far too peppery. Guest at the next table had to ask for another glass of water as there was something floating in hers which the waitress told her was probably coffee granules from the dishwasher! I won’t eat at this locale again but will visit the Devon Yard one. My Husband told me to write this review, I was hesitant as I feel this will get lost amongst all the positive ones and no change will come- it’s almost like their popularity has made them care far less and standards have really slipped. It’s really disappointing when I know how much I’ve enjoyed it in the past!
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service!
Perfect for what we wanted
Loved the shopping area outside the restaurant and the restaurant experience did not disappoint. Would recommend it to anyone. We stopped on our way to Longwood Gardens and would do it again!
We had wanted to try this place. Not a place to go if you like meat. They had 3 meat dishes and they were out of one if thenm. I got the burger which was really good, but my fries were cold. My wife’s meal was ok. It’s overpriced and the room was really noisy too. I won’t be back.
Lovely, albeit expensive for lunch!
My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary brunch and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The food, the ambiance and decor was absolutely amazing. The staff were also very friendly and checked in with us frequently to make sure we were ok. They even surprised us with a warm delicious cookie at the end of our meal. Thank you Terrain Cafe! I can’t wait to come back! :)
Food was absolutely delicious. Even the items that were not as I expected tasted great. Ambiance is truly unique and special, service was lovely. Thanks for a great dining experience!
Another fabulous meal at our favorite place!
Terrain is a lovely place and I have been many times. The food itself is nothing super special (although the mushroom soup and chai lattes are actually pretty extraordinary). I am never blown away by my meal and it always feels a bit overpriced, but I go for the experience and the ambiance. Great weekend plans for the holiday season.
The old country greenhouse vibe was not only strong, but well done. It is the type of place you become a regular at - fast but not compromising, casual but not sloppy, unique but simple. Whoever is running the cafe and shop knows how to develop a concept and see it through. The menu carries gravity - an appreciation for local procurement of produce and dishes that make sense. The omelette with mushrooms and goat cheese was fresh and vibrant with an acidic side salad. Each vegetable and fruit carefully understood and presented in its best form. The only dark spot to an otherwise solid lunch was the macchiato incident. Why did the spoon need to go through the handle of the cup - a trap for those eager to lift the spoon without looking, a spill waiting to (and did) happen. But, it can be overlooked as the server gratiously replaced the plate full of coffee with a fresh cup. All in all, great place for an afternoon get together - I will definitely be back (and maybe even become a regular).
Absolutely amazing! The ambiance, the decor, the food, the service and it’s BYOB. Couldn’t ask for more! Can’t wait to go back and try their brunch but dinner was simply perfection. From the bread in the terra-cotta pot and honey poppyseed butter to the truffle fries to the crispy skin salmon. My BF has the filet with Brussels sprouts and it was divine. If you’re even wondering about trying terrain, just go - you won’t regret it!
Unfortunately, not what it used to be. Now seems to be more of a food factory and less of a charming dining experience. The menu is limited which is ok, but the few items which need to be served hot should be hot. (sent my meal back twice , then gave up).
No gluten free options for bread was disappointing.
We celebrated 3 birthdays with this visit and both Megan and Zach went above and beyond our expectations. Our food was scrumptiously amazing - Terrain never disappoints. Thank you for making our day super special!
We have eaten there several times and will again. Highly recommended.
Server was excellent!!!! Food was very good, noise level was somewhat hgh
This was our first trip to Terrain and certainly wont be our last! We opened the store at 9am and didnt walk to our car until 3:45 PM. Between the store, the cafe and the greenhouse, we couldn't get enough. Above all, Erika, the manager, was outstanding!!!!! Her customer service was exemplary. As well as 2 other associates. Erika offered her service throughout our entire visit, continuously taking our purchases to the cash wrap and checking in to see if we needed anything and overall was genuinely appreciative of our excitement to be at Terrain. She deserves to be commended - top notch!!! We Will be back.
A wonderful ladies lunch on a sunday afternoon!
We each ordered a specialty latte and the most amazing mushroom soup! After that we shared a few entrees, the kale Caesar add shrimp. Those shrimp were huge and delish! We also split the harvest bowl and the grilled cheese. Everything is beautiful to look at and delicious to eat.
WE had a wonderful time and experience. Loved our food.
But.... Been here before when it was super busy and our gentlemen server was superb despite the workload. Was so impressed I wanted to share with my daughter and family for her 23rd birthday. Unfortunately my take away is that service will be hit or miss. I booked through Open Table indicating birthday special occasion, but no one acknowledged that. Not even upon check in by the hostess looking at the reservation. Food took a while which was absolutely fine and understandable as it was busy, but after meals arrived and server checked back we sat for a long time unattended. When it reached 1 3/4 hours from time we sat down, I was getting up to go find out how to pay our bill and get moving when a random server noticed and offered assistance. I indicated we would like coffee's to go so we can walk around and we haven't seen our server in a long while. She took the order and then the prior server emerged to wish us an abrupt good rest of the day. Then the other staff brought the coffee's one by one and I had to ask for our third coffee that was taking a while. It wasn't a feel good experience as expected. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, delicious menu and strolling the store. You expect attention to details from this place, but may not get them consistently.
Everything was delicious! Everyone was sooo nice!
